Today on this 2010 Ford Edge we're going to be test fitting the 20 by 48 Surco cargo carrier for inch and a quarter hitches. Part number 52017. Now we already have it installed on our vehicle, let me go ahead and go over some features here. First off this has a 300 pound carrying capacity and has a nice mesh floor here which is going to make it really easy to clean. It has this rail going all the way around the cargo carrier which can serve as a tie down point for you ratchet straps or your bungee cords. Whatever you use to tie down your cargo. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now.



MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we are doing a test fit of a MaxxTow 48x21 Cargo Carrier. That part number is MT70422. We have a weight capacity of 500 pounds and works with 2-inch hitches only. We have it on our vehicle here. The first thing we are going to do is take a few measurements, ground clearing being first. We are going to have about 12 inches of clearance. Overall to our vehicle, we are going to have about 27 inches and our closest point looks to be about 7 inches away. On our Edge, we do have dual exhausts, one at the driver and one at the passenger side.



Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier. This is 23 x 48, has a weight capacity of 450 pounds and it works with 2" hitches only; part number for this M2205. The first thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, we're going to have about 18" there. Overall to our vehicle, we're adding about 32-3/4" and our closest point down here is going to be about 4" away. Now we do have dual exhaust on our vehicle, one to each side although it is a bit under our carrier, that's going to sit about 14-1/2", so just be aware of that when you're loading up your gear. As for our walls, we can fold these down to so. We're going to pull out our pins at each corner. We're going to lay down our smaller sides first.



Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg Carlson 23 x 60 Cargo Carrier; that part number is CC-100. This has a weight capacity of 500 pounds and works with 2" inches only. The first thing we're going to do here is take a few measurements. The ground clearance being first. We're going to measure to the bottom of this bolt. It's going to be about 10-3/4". Overall to our vehicle we're adding about 27" and our closest point here is going to be about 6" away. Now on our Edge, we do have dual exhaust; one on the passenger and one of the driver's side.

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge, we are going a test fit of the Curt Folding 20x60 Cargo Carrier. This part number is C18151, has a weight capacity of 500 pounds and works with 2-inch hitches only. The first thing we are going to do here is take a few measurements. We are going to have our ground clearance first. That is going to be about 12 1/2 inches. Our overall here is going about 32 inches and our closest point is going to be about 11 inches away. Now on our Edge we do have dual exhausts, one on the passenger and one on the driver side.

Today on our 2010 Ford Edge we're doing a test fit of the Curt 20x60 cargo carrier. That part number is C18150. This has a weight capacity of five hundred pounds and works with two inch hitches only. The first thing we need to do is take a few measurements, ground clearance being first. We're going to have about fourteen and three quarter inches of clearance with that raised shank in the back. Overall to our vehicle we're adding about twenty six and three quarter inches, and we have a closest point of about five and a half inches. As for our Edge, we have dual exhaust that come out on the driver and passenger side.

It has a weight capacity of 300 pounds, and works with both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. First thing we're going to do while it's on our vehicle is take a few measurements, ground clearance being first. We're going to have about 15 inches of clearance. That is because we have that raised shank in the back which is going to lift our carrier even higher than our hitch. Overall to our vehicle, we're adding about 25 1/2 inches, and our closest point is going to be about 7 inches away. As for our Edge, we do have dual exhaust, one on the driver and one on the passenger side.



Rola 21x55 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2010 Ford Edge

Today on this 2010 Ford Edge we're going to be test-fitting the 21 x 55 Rola cargo carrier for 1-1/4 inch hitches, part number 59507. This cargo carrier has a 300-pound carrying capacity. It has this large mesh form here, which makes it easier to clean. Plus, periodically around the rails of this cargo carrier, you have many tie-down points for your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you may use to secure your gear as you drive.
