Thule Roof Bike Racks Review - 2008 Chevrolet Impala

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Impala, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule ThruRide Rooftop Bike Rack, part number TH535. We already have a bike installed on the rack, so let's take a closer look at it.How this actually attaches to the bike rack, we're not going to have any frame contact at all. Instead, we're going to have a skewer mount up at the front here, which will grip your bike by the fork mounts. This can be removed and be used with Thru-Axles as well if need be.At the rear, we'll have this ratcheting strap, and this is going to move back and forth along the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes. With the bike rack installed, we're not going to have any issues of clearance between our trunk and the bike rack. As you can see here, plenty of space.Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside.

We also have a wheel strap at the rear here and this will adjust back and forth along the bike rack to accommodate bikes of different sizes. With everything installed as it is, we're not going to have any issue of clearance between the trunk and the bike rack. Malone Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2008 Chevrolet Impala

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Impala, we're going to be test fitting the Malone Hanger 3 Trunk Mount Bike Rack, part number NPG2142. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. The cradles are adjustable back and forth and side to side and can be tightened down with this Phillips head screw, here, and they are padded as well as they have these grooves on the inside of them, here, so the cables your bike can rest inside there instead of being smashed up against the frame once you install your bike.It does have these very flexible strips to tighten them down and there's only going to be two points of contact and that's going to be these points at the top frame. It does also come along with this stabilization strap, here. We only have it wrapped on our tire just to make sure it doesn't make contact with our vehicle, but it does come with two straps that you would put around all three bikes as well as the bike rack itself to keep everything together and keep it from moving back and forth while you drive. There is an issue that I'd really like to point out, here. In this particular case with how we have this set up, the pedal may make contact with your vehicle, so you may need to have something, a pad of some sort, to wrap around your pedal to make sure it doesn't damage your vehicle once you drive.Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside.
