24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
I like this hitch cargo carrier because the assembly was simple, it's quite substantial in materials and will save us so much room inside our vehicle when we travel.
Works perfectly, especially with optional LED light kit.

19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs
I just returned home from a 9000 mile road trip for the last 30 days. We travelled throughout the western U.S. and I used both the cargo carrier and the cargo bag. I actually strapped an additional bag to the roof of my 2003 Chevy Suburban. The carrier and bags performed flawlessly! I encountered heavy winds, steep climbs on rough roads and heavy rain storms. The content of the bags stayed dry and clean. I went in and out of these bags to retrieve gear multiple times per day and I had no tears in the bags or the straps and no breaks in the zippers. Thank you and I would strongly recommend these products.
Purchased this for my 2009 Suburban. We have four young kids so need lots of extra storage. Net: This product rocks and I highly recommend. The rack went together without a hitch, parts were machined/welded accurately. Took about 30 minutes, but only because my kids were 'helping'. The rack is ROCK SOLID once assembled and haven't had to tighten a single bolt. Fold up feature is great. Since I purchased this in June, 2012, it has traveled over 1,500 miles on two different trips, through rain and across many dirt roads and held up really well. Opportunities for improvement: - the box it arrives in is of very low quality. Fortunately, no damage. - wish the guard rows were higher - be careful on how tightly you fasten the bolt for the hinge, can get sticky Overall: the only thing I would do differently is to have ordered the 24" deep version rather than the 20". Also purchased the water resistant bag and the hitch lock - both highly recommended accessories.

Surco Safari Rack 5.0 Rooftop Cargo Basket for Factory Rails - 84" Long x 50" Wide
I have had this rack on my Ford Excursion for a full year now. I go whitewater kayaking about every weekend and they fit in the rack very nicely. I bought a 4'x8' sheet of expanded steel mesh for a floor, cut it to length, painted it with truck bed liner, and fastened it to the cross bars with sheet metal screws so I wouldn't have to worry about balancing on the cross bars while loading and tying down gear. This summer we went to from TN to CO with 3 boats stuffed full of gear on top, and it handled them with ease. Get the folding ladder to make loading and unloading a breeze!

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 64-1/2" Long x 39" Wide x 7-1/4" Tall - 150 lbs
Easy to assemble. I added the extension to accommodate my 03 Suburban - just wish it was a bit longer to fill my roof rack. Highly recommended!
I love the rack and the extended length is great on my Sequoia. I am disappointed with the finish on it as the connector plates are already showing signs of rust….. I like it enough that I’m going to repaint it with something more suited to our climate…

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 57" Long x 42" Wide - 165 lbs
Great product. Great quality. Instructions not real clear, so took me a couple of hours to assemble. Then another 15-20 minutes to secure to roof racks. I was working alone, extra hands would have helped. But extremely happy with quality and looks of product. We have lots of family that visit us, so I plan to carry luggage on the rack to free up space inside the vehicle on trips to and from the airport.
Love it! It's big enough to fit a bike carrier and a cargo bag on top of my MINI. Easy to assemble and install, solid construction. Great value for your money. If I have a gripe it's that the wind fairing on the front is VERY thin/fragile. I caught it with my bike tire when loading one day and the corner snapped right off like nothing. It's only about $XXX for the replacement.

GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - 420 lbs - Black
Perfect sized box for carry sized luggage and softball game day gear. Proven space saver. Receiver is showing signs of rust otherwise would be a ten. Would buy again.
The cargo carrier generally performed as intended, but it took a lot of tinkering and a warranty replacement of the lid to complete things to our satisfaction. On delivery we found that both two aluminum side stiffeners had been bent during shipment, and were replaced fairly quickly. We then found excessive play in the fit with the receiver, and it was impossible to accommodate a "noise reduction clamp" properly at the hitch, so I used part of a bent aluminum stiffener to apply pressure across the connection between the receiver and the hitch. And lastly, the lid section was warped by over 1", which still kept rain out, but did not keep fine dust out, and it was very unsightly. After a bit of discussion, a replacement lid was provided at no cost, which I have not yet had the chance to inspect as it was delivered to our Arizona home over the summer, and we spend the summer in Canada.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 41-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep - 150 lbs
The reason I bought this basket is due to gas prices. I have a 4X4 suburban I use for camping and hunting but it takes a small loan to fill up the tank. Actually this basket cost less than it does to fill it up. So my thought was if i can get all my gear on my daily driver then i could save some money and maybe even sale the burb. So i gave it a shot last weekend. The rack was easy to put together. I had it out of the box and on the roof in under 30 minutes. As you can see in the pic, i have a rather large ice chest, chain saw, 6 man tent, gas stove and my chair on the roof. My camping destination was about 3 hours away. First was a hour of highway driving at speeds around 70. No issues there. Then 2 hours of windy back roads. No issues there either. The basket made it possible for me and my two kids to load up in the car and head to the hills for three days. The plus for me was it only takes 50$ to fill up the car. :-) I had the max weight in this basket with no issues. I'm very happy with this basket.
Purchased this cargo rack in Nov. 2011. We love this cargo rack. Purchased the extension also. Not difficult to assemble or mount on Suburban. Delivery was handled very timely. My only issue with the rack... Had a crash in June. The fairing was busted. Called ETrailer to order a replacement. They do not carry replacement fairings. However, very helpful in recommending to call Curt, even had the number handy. Problem is, Curt does not make extra fairings for replacement in the event the original is broken.

Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs
So far so good. I assembled the product and it is good so far. I still have yet to put a bike on it to give it the full test.
I can't say I'm entirely happy with my purchase. The instructions were more confusing than helpful. Note in "instruction.jpg" photo of STEP 1 that the text says to put the 8 small bolts in from the inside first, but the drawing clearly shows them as going in from the outside. The last step says to place the ramp onto the receiver as shown.... glad I didn't throw away the box because there is no drawing that shows ramp installation. Actually, the photo on the box was more helpful than any of the instructions. Also, I need to make a trip to the hardware store to buy longer medium bolts because the ones that came with the carrier were not long enough to fully engage the self locking feature of the nylon lock nuts. At a minimum a couple of threads should protrude beyond the nylon. See photo "nut.jpg". The bolt threads don't reach the end of the nylon, so the self locking feature is not fully engaged. I did tighten the nut, but that was as far as it would go. I think once I get back from the hardware store with the new medium bolts and after I reverse the 8 small bolts (I followed the drawing and not the text of the instructions), I'll be OK with the carrier.

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
This was purchased off of the etrailer.com website as a "damaged" item at a significantly reduced price. The description on the website described the damage very well and the cargo box has no functional issues of any kind. Also, the cargo box arrived much earlier than I anticipated. Furthermore, when I noticed that the box arrived with the load securing straps missing I emailed etrailer customer support and they had Thule send me two new ones right away. Couldn't be more pleased with etrailer and this cargo box. It fits my 2014 Honda CRV with factory crossbars with just a little bit of rear hatch interference (restricts opening by maybe an inch or two, but can still fully use the rear hatch). Can't speak to durability quite yet as I've only used the cargo box a few times to transport skis and snowboard and plan to use it year-round for road trips. A really great, simple cargo box!
This was a much needed addition for a drive back to Tucson, AZ from a three month stay in Portland. ME, as we had acquired some extra things and needed more space than our 2015 Honda CRV provided. This fit on top of the rhino vortex aero roof rack I also purchased from e-trailer perfectly. The cargo box functioned as expected, and although we ultimately could have used a slightly larger cargo box, this one worked great for giving us extra space in our car for the drive home. It was easy to mount and opened easily, although it was a bit tricky to load, a step ladder would have helped. It was tough to close, we had to move some stuff around to get it to latch, but I appreciated that it would not lock unless the latches could fully engage, which made me feel like it was going to remain closed while traveling. We wasted no time putting stickers on it, and added more along the drive home, which was fun. We traveled through many different types of weather, it was late spring and was rainy in the beginning of our trip, and very hot towards the end of our trip, and the contents were in perfect condition when we arrived home. There was zero water damage inside, and nothing was damaged from being in the heat. Of course there was some reduced gas mileage and added road noise when traveling, but nothing too unbearable. Also, service and shipping from etrailer was excellent.

Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 75" Long x 49" Wide - 165 lbs
I think regarding functionality; this is a great cargo basket but one of the buffers that connects to the basket to the car roof rack snapped off on its first use. I can still use it but it is now a separate piece from the unit. I bought the locking set with it; no problems thus far. Would still continue to use despite that one flaw. It appears to slightly flimsy but the rack is still great to use.
Great product! Heavy but sturdy

Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box - 22 cu ft - Black Glossy
Exceeded my expectations. We have this mounted on a chevy suburban, we replaced a 15 year old 16 sq fr. rocket box that was just worn out. The Thule is easy to mount on the stock crossbars, super easy to open and close, and makes no noticeable wind noise. It's built very well. Only reason we didn't get the XXL was it would be too tall for our cabin garage, so make sure you measure your space wisely! Would purchase again, I've been a Yakima guy for years but I think I'm switching brands!!

Yakima EXO Swing Away Storage System w/ 2 Enclosed Cargo Carriers - 2" Hitches
E trailer always delivers! Ordering was easy and package was delivered on time. I needed in time for a family trip, called in Roger and Joanne made sure the package went out on time. I will definitely prefer again when I need my next piece of gear.
Very interesting! I am pleased with this purchase. All of this equipment is well built and was designed with ease of use and security in mind. The hitch part is surprisingly pretty heavy, but once it is connected this weight gives the hitch a sturdy feel. The lockers are pretty big and the material though light weight feels like it will hold up to some rough miles and a few bruises. It is so nice to have this much dry secure and easy to access storage outside of our vehicle. Customer service was excellent and delivery times were surprisingly short.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged, and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.

Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 44" Long x 40" Wide - 165 lbs
The Yakima OffGrid medium rack arrived yesterday at about 10:30 a.m. It was fully unpacked/assembled/installed by about 11:45. etrailer did a fine job of communicating/pricing/delivering and supporting this good product. I've been using Yakima products (and others) for biking, paddling, fishing etc. for about 45 years. This rack is a serious solution to a variety of uses of a roof rack. I will be able to use it on various vehicles and for a number of applications (sports, chores, travel etc.) It has more flexibility than most racks and I can't imagine a more durable, quality design. My particular needs, being in my "Dotage", are met by the ability to remove the cross bars and fairing for an open platform, or keep them on and custom fit to a spare tire, or bike rack, kayak rack etc. The attaching mechanisms drew my attention. I put this on the car with solo and with caution using a protective mat. It is very manageable and easy to fit. These mechanisms for tightening down on the crossbars bring the added value (and cost) to folks like me that don't want to spend a lot of time and effort installing a rooftop rack. I wanted secure, solid attachment with simplicity. The OffGrid delivers! No pain killers needed after the install! This "Medium" OffGrid is more than adequate for my initial uses. The internal and external dimensions are pretty much ideal for this 2017 Sienna. A full size spare tire will fit just right. A nice fit for a canoe as well. I admit to scouring the internet and considering dozens of products from baskets to platforms and this OffGrid showed a lot of promise. Its versatility and ruggedness competes with the best designs at about half the price of many. My thoughts included the extension bracket, but the medium OffGrid really does meet most of my expectations and needs for various applications. Now, to the matter of noise. There is wind noise. However, for me, it simply blends into the symphony of white noise that comes with highway travel (and the ringing in my ears) :)......Of all the racks, bikes, canoes, kayaks ladders, lumber, etc., etc. that I have carried on car tops, the wind sounds of this carrier are negligible. The fairing is a nice, well thought out feature that works well. So, my five star rating is for both the product and the vendor. Once again "eTrailer" has proven themselves to be one of the best sources of such products nationwide. Their product information efforts are an industry leader and they deserve credit for providing extremely helpful product reviews and explanations. That's what got me to choose them on this purchase. Those of us well into our "Dotage" appreciate learning all we can!
