MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, were going to be test fitting the Maxxtow 29x49 Aluminum Cargo Carrier with the 60 inch ramp part number MT70275. Well begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the carrier into the hitch on our vehicle. I found easiest, with this one being as heavy as it is and awkward, to rest the shank of the carrier into the hitch of our vehicle like so. Youll then move around to the back of the carrier and pick up and push in at the same time. Youll want to line your hitch pinholes up here. Once you have those in line, well take the included the hitch pin and slide it through the holes. You got to get the alignment just perfect and able to get it in so you may have to do a little wiggling around on your carrier before you have the positioning perfect.

Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe we're going to be test fitting the Pro Series Solo 31 by 47 Cargo Carrier, part number PS1040100. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the carrier into the hitch in our vehicle. With the size of this carrier and the weight, it's kind of awkward, so I like to rest it up against the hitch first. Come around behind the carrier and pick up and push in at the same time. It's definitely going to save your back a little bit doing that. Then you can line up the hitch pin holes.

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today, on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to be test fitting the MaxxTow 20 by 47 Cargo Carrier, part number MT70108. This is an aluminum cargo carrier, so it's nice and light and it fits 2 inch hitches. We'll start our test fit by inserting the shank into the hitch on our vehicle. You'll want to watch for the hitch pinholes to line up. With those in line, we'll take our hitch pin. We're using, today, part number PC3 and slide it through the holes.

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to be test fitting the max tow, 17x50 cargo carrier for 2 inch hitches, part number MT70107. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of our carrier into our hitch. You'll want to watch for the hitch pin holes to line up. With those in line, we'll take our hitch pin, part number PC3, and slide it through the holes. Once that's through, you can attach the clip on the other side. The closest part of our carrier to the vehicle is going to be the rail to the bumper. That's measures about 4 and a quarter inches. Overall, we're adding close to 24 inches. And our ground clearance is nearly 14 inches. The exhaust on this vehicle exits on the passenger side. As you can see it faces away from the rear of the vehicle, so you shouldn't have any issues when hauling heat sensitive materials on your carrier. We'll open our rear hatch door, and grab the break over point. The hatch is going to break over the carrier at about 19 inches.

Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to be test fitting the Detail K2 20x60 Cargo Carrier. This is a folding carrier with a weight limit of 500 pounds. The part number is K2HCC602. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank into the hitch on our vehicle. We'll want to watch for the hitch pinholes to line up. With those in line, we'll take the hitch pin and tread it through or slide it through. You may have to wiggle it around a little bit so you can get the pin through all the way. You'll want to attach the clip to the other side. The closest part of the carrier to the vehicle is going to be the rail to the bumper. That measures about 4-1/4". Overall, we're going to measure here from the shanks to the bumper, we've added about 14-3/4" and the ground clearance comes close to 13". By pulling the pin and clip with the base of the mast, it's going to allow us to tilt the rack down into the loading position. You want to reinsert the pin and clip and as you can tell, our measurements have changed quite a bit so we'll get a couple more measurements. The closest point of the carrier now to the vehicle is again going to be at the rail. It's about 14" at this point.

The closest point of the carrier to the vehicle is going to be the bar to the bumper.

Curt 17x46 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on our 2004 Chevy Tahoe, we're going to be test fitting the Curt 17x46 cargo carrier, part number: C18145. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into our hitch. The adapter is loosely fitted on there, so I like to leave the hitch bolt in just to get it started. We'll remove that and line up our hitch pin holes. Helps to keep a hand on the adapter, just so you don't have to worry about that getting out of position. With the holes in line, we'll thread in the included anti-rattle hitch bolt.

Curt 19x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today, on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to be test fitting the Curt 19X60 cargo carrier for 2-inch hitches. This is an aluminum folding cargo carrier. The part number is C18100. Rola Dart Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe

Today on our 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're going to test fitting the Rola Dart 23 by 56 Cargo Carrier. The part number is 59550. This is a folding cargo carrier that fits a 2 inch hitch so we'll start our test fit by inserting the shank into the hitch on our vehicle. As you can see, it comes with a threaded anti-rattle hitch bolt so we'll move that out of the way, line up our hitch pin holes and then thread our hitch pin into place. We'll get this hand tight and then we'll finish it off with our wrench. Sometimes it helps to wiggle it around as you're trying to tighten it down that way you've got it in the perfect position so the threads don't bind up. Tightening this down will help to take any extra play out of the shank of the carrier which helps to eliminate movement overall as you're going down the road.
