Product is extremely heavy duty. much more than I will need, but I appreciate quality made is USA products. Etrailer packaging not so great. Box was torn by weight of this item, which caused a chip in the finish of the item.

This is a beast of a drawbar, solid forged steel & well finished. It's also very heavy and E-Trailer needed to ship 3 times because the first two broke out of the box they were packed in. (Someone in the USPS has a couple nice draw bars.) Fortunately the 3rd effort was much better packed in a reinforced box and was successfully delivered. E-Trailer customer service was exemplary in resolving the shipment issue & I will definitely shop with them again.

This has been one of the best hitches that I have owned. It is adjustable to change between my Jeep Wrangler and my Ford F-150 Limited. Both have different tow heights and tow needs based on trailer type and payload capacity. This hitch has worked great for those purposes!

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

The product is good but a bit tideous and after installing it my bracket fell and it was a pain to get replace it support made me buy the replacement pieces and the bracket didnt come with just the bolts, and at the end they told i have i had to buy the whole unit because based on their system my truck didnt have issues with installement and the manufacturer didnt supply that bracket cause it special order so in general i dont recommend in my choice better to get it welded.

Just did ~500miles with about 5k worth of car plus trailer over hill and dale. Works great. No detectable wobbling, but pins are easy to get through holes (not too tight or misaligned). Heavy, but not like, completely unwieldy.

This Hitch does the job perfectly for all my trailers keeping in the upright position and did not notice any excessive rattle..

The 5” B&W has worked great for me. This year I’ve towed an 18 foot speed boat, a 21 foot family boat, and a travel trailer. Used 3 different heights on hitch to accommodate each trailer, including the larger ball for the travel trailer. When all done, I use the stow feature too. No more hitting shins on the hitch! Quality unit, very happy with its versatility and solid craftsmanship.

Great heavy dury hitch for towing. Less noise than other hitches and does a great job pulling my boat. Love the easy adjusting to height based on terrain where you may need to change this. Worth every dollar and likely a hitch for life.

The hitch and ball mount are excellent quality. My concerns are twofold. The hitch is so heavy that I had to take it to my mechanic to have it installed. Minor cost and inconvenience, but the hitch for my previous F-150 was just as sturdy, but easy to install myself (albeit with higher ground clearance). My concern about the ball mount is that the factory told me erroneously that it could not be reversed for a drop, so I returned it. This order is for the replacement after I was finally correctly told it could be reversed and how to do that. Ball mount would have been a 3 for that reason, and overall hitch and ball mount quality a 5. So I averaged them.

I have two of these. My first I bought two years ago. I very highly recommend this Curt Class III Ballmount 2" Drop because of its price, durability and quality. I towed various class 3 loads with ease and confidence with this ballmount. It slides into the hitch and does its job without fail. It looks excellent after towing a load. etrailer's price is about as good as it gets and delivery is very speedy.

First of all, the products you find at etrailer are not your garden variety, home depot kind of fair. Much higher quality and grade/weight ratings. So to be able to get hard to find items and then by orderring at least 100$ worth of stuff also get it delivered free in 4 days, is awesome. The prices are incredible too.

My 2018 F350 chassis cab has a Knapheide service body with a Buyers hitch installed by Knapheide. It is bolted and welded in place. Unfortunately, it only has a 2" receiver. To have them change to the 2.5" receiver hitch would cost me approximately $1200. The 20,000 lb. Curt replacement hitch would not work on this truck with this bed. The Buyer's hitch has a weight rating of 16,000 lbs. and 1600 lb. tongue weight. Fortunately, Curt has come through again for me with this ball mount. I bought two: one for my 2" ball and one for my 2-5/16" ball. They are great and the drop is very close to what would be perfect. Your towing set-up is only as strong as your weakest link and I now know the the ball mount is definitely not my weakest link. One note to Curt: When you put the stickers on your ball mounts, make sure they're clean. Before I even towed, the thick Curt sticker on both ball mounts started coming off. It feels like there is some kind of coating possibly on the mount and then the decals were applied. I tried pressing them both back on but I doubt they'll last the rest of the week. But as always, Curt has built me a great product for my needs. I'm a one man landscaper business but have spent quite a bit on Curt hitch products because they WORK.

My order was missing installation parts, but the etrailer team were quick to correct the issue. Even without a lift, I was able to install the receiver and brake light cable quickly, thanks to their extensive video libray.

Retail type stores only carry mainstream items so when I needed a special length ball mount for my 2011 Traverse I found the size and quality with Curt Products .

Just what I needed. Shipped and received when etrailer said it would. Not my first order and they are always one of my first visits when I need something for my trailer.

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust.

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. Fits our VW Touareg perfectly and allows us to tow a variety of things now. As can be seen in the pictures the hitch has a +5-inch gap between the bumper and the vertical adjustment pillar and the trailer itself is out further so there's enough room to get to the rear hatch and maneuver the vehicle/trailer.

I needed a hitch that I could haul my work trailer with and still drop the tailgate without dropping the trailer. I looked on etrailer and found one that would work barely but decided to call etrailer and see if anyone had any ideas. Steve answered and looked after I told him my requirements and came up with this. This has a longer distance from ball to pin by a few inches compared to the one I found so my tailgate will still drop even if I’m at an angle to my trailer or on a hill. Also with the adjustable height it’s great. Awesome hitch. Solid for a good price. ??

We bought this to tow our 3,000 lbs. boat with our Subaru Ascent with a 5,000 lbs. towing capacity. With the OEM ball mount, we could really feel every jolt and jiggle from hard stops, going over bumps in the road, and trailering down dirt roads. However, the dual cushion ball has really improved our trailing experience. Once we get up to speed, we hardly notice we are towing our boat. It's also great because some of the lakes we visit are down dirt roads, and the cushion makes this a much more pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone towing a boat or larger trailer with a SUV as it maintains that comfortable ride and the jostling of the trailer is much less noticeable.

A year has passed with my Convert-A-Ball Dual-Cushioned, Adjustable Ball Mount and I have nothing but praise for this mount. Once you find the correct height to have a perfectly level trailer there's no need to adjust. The beauty lies in the cushioning! Towing a Yamaha AR190 (3200lb boat and trailer combo) is silent. Even over the bumpiest pavement the tow is smooth. There is no harsh slamming when braking or taking off from the boat ramp. I don't know why everyone isn't running one of these, I wouldn't run any other hitch mount PERIOD! If you're on the fence, get off and buy one, you will NOT regret it!

Arrived today. Fast shipping, and thank you for that! Seems to be a quality ball mount. Just what I needed to get the ball lower to tow my trailer. With this, now the top of the ball is at 16" where it needs to be. Custom built receiver on my old moving box van. Just need to weld on safety chain slots and paint it. Can't drop the lift gate with the receiver in (its pinned on both sides), but hey....I can tow now.

Tow infrequently; got new(to us) 2015 RAM 2500 pick up to tow our 38’ touring travel trailer. Have a HD WD hitch & adjustable sway control hitch set up we use for this trailer, but needed a drop hitch for our smaller Travel trailer& misc use haul trailer,,,,both much lighter & do not require the sway control set up. This drop hitch & ball fit the bill perfectly as the needed drop did not provide suffice t ground clearances to utilize the WD hitch mount setup (which was not needed) for those smaller loads. E-trailer worked w us to get the product we needed & an option that was inexpenve but sufficiently rated to pull our smaller trailers! Very happy our results !

I bought the 1 7/8 and 2 inch combo so that switching between the two is as easy as pulling a pin. However, I didn't realize that I had to install the ball. I had to find someone with a wrench and torque wrench big enough to do it. Otherwise, excellent quality as usual from E-Trailer.

Great Value for the Money

This ball mount gives me the adjustment I needed on my Dodge Grand Caravan when I rent different trailers. The part that goes into the hitch does have a little play but it is no worse than my current fixed height ball mount. The adjustable ball mount with the 2 pins also has about a 1/8" play so be ready for that if you buy this adjustable ball mount. That would be the only improvement I think they could make in the future is to have the pins a little larger and/or the holes a little smaller to reduce the play. However, this might just be the way these need to be designed at this price point based on the research I have done with other adjustable hitches.

Unit worked, but the fit between the 2.5" adapter and the hitch was loose. It caused the trailer to rock back and forth with every application of the brakes. Had to make shims to stop unit from clanking. Felt like if length of attaching piece was longer it would had helped. Attached picture to help illustrate.

This ball mount has served it purpose well. I purchased a new travel trailer that is heavy enough to require a weight distribution hitch when using the factory installed Class III hitch on our Dodge RAM 2500. I decided to upgrade to a Class V hitch combined with this ball mount to take delivery of the TT in order to defer decisions about a WD hitch until the actual load conditions were known. The hour trip home with this setup worked very well. Once the trailer was outfitted I was able to determine the actual tongue weight of the loaded trailer and I decided to purchase an appropriately sized Reese Straight Line WD hitch. However, this ball mount comes in handy for moving the trailer short distances without hassling with the WD system. The purchase experience through etrailer.com was first rate.

My newer Chevy K3500 has a 2 1/2 inch square receiver so I was able too get rid of my 2" ball mount that was almost too heavy to lift and replace it with a new Reese tri- ball mount with a 14,000 lb Gross towing capacity and weighs less than 12 pounds. Despite some of the conflicting reports on here about the Reese Tri-ball Titan Hitch fitting 2011 and up Super Dutys I took a gamble and it payed off. It fits my 2012 Super Duty with no issue. I didn't have to grind the corners or take the sticker off or remove any paint. Thanks for the great customer service and answering my questions.

My usage of your hitch is a bit unusual, I think. I pull a two ton roller with my Ram and I've used your cushioned hitch to smooth out the process. The roller Lunette just dropped over a 2" ball and then banged and jerked on the ball neck. Check out the photos for my adaptation.. I can flip it over and use the 2" ball! Have enclosed some photos. The cushion is holding up very well and it takes a beating!! Thanks

We have a Pink Tractor (google Mom's Pink Tractor) that we pull to events, mainly in Ks, Ok, Mo, and Ne. We have around 35 events a year we take the tractor to to promote breast cancer awareness. The other day my wife and I were leaving for an event, i had let a friend borrow the hitch to see how he liked it. In less then a mile from the house my wife started complaining about the trailer jerking. That is coming from a lady that really was upset when I paid that much for a hitch.
