Video Transcript for NOCO Battery Chargers - Battery Charger - 329-GEN1 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the NOCO Genius Onboard 10 amp, 12 volt, Battery Charger. Now this onboard charger will help you keep a charge on a single 12 volt marine starter, deep cycle battery. It's designed to mount directly to your boat, to your trolling motor, generator, electric vehicle or industrial equipment. And it is ideal for 12 volt batteries up to 230 amp hours. It can also be used to maintain a full charge on your batteries. This charger is waterproof, shock and vibration resistant. It's a nice rugged design, which is submersible.

Has an IP68 rating, and it is salt water tested to combat corrosion. This will increase battery performance and longevity by optimizing the battery's internal specific gravity. It does have two LED's on the top here. One's marked charge. The charge LED will add a visual to the status of the charge on your battery.

It'll light up red when it's charging, and it turns green when charging is complete.Right next to it is an error LED. Now that error LED, and sometimes the charge LED, will flash when error conditions exist, and reasons for error LED might include voltage incompatibility, low voltage battery, blown fuse in the battery connector harness, corrosion on battery terminals, loose battery connections, or a damaged battery. It does use built-in battery maintenance technology, so it'll monitor the battery activity against charging when needed. It allows for continuous operation without supervision, and there's zero risk of overcharging your battery. It does use a built-in battery desulfator, which will rejuvenate underperforming batteries, recovers deeply discharged batteries down to 2 volts. It has spark proof technology, and this is a compact powerful charger.

It'll efficiently convert AC power into safe DC power for battery charging, and it uses onboard microcomputer controls charging to minimize power loss. It is ignition protected. It's a quantity of one battery bank.Input voltage on it is 70 volts to 130 volts AC, 50 to 60 hertz. The power draw at 14.4 volts is 10 amps. Now the DC cord length is going to be about 75 and a half inches.

The AC cord length is about 72 inches. And the last thing I want to do is just measure this for you. Now it does also come with four mounting screws to install it. The overall length on this is right at seven and one-eighth inches. The width on it from the very bottom, or from the . yeah, six inches wide, and the total depth on it is going to be right at three and one-eighth inches deep. That should do it for the review on the NOCO Genius Onboard 10 amp, 12 volt, Battery Charger.

This convertor was installed on a 1999 Volkswagan Vanagon. Volkswagan did not install a coach battery charger on this little camper. Made for a nice add on. Sorry about no picture. Camper left on a trip 30 minutes after installation. Might get a picture to you later. 616993

  • Troubleshooting NOCO Genius On-Board Battery Charger
The NOCO Genius On-Board Battery Charger - 1-Bank - 10 Amp # 329-GEN1 appears to be working correctly unless you also have the error LED lit. It simply may be showing that your battery is not holding the charge so it is constantly charging. I recommend testing your battery prior to replacing the charger.

  • What Is the Amp Hour Capacity When Combining Two Six Volt Batteries In Series
The voltage will double when connecting batteries in series but the amp hour capacity will remain the same. Therefore, if you connect two 6 volt batteries in series with a 250 amp hour capacity then the voltage output will be 12 but the amp hour capacity will remain at 250. In order to double amp hour capacity you would need to connect two 12 volt batteries in parallel as the voltage would remain at 12 but the amp hour capacity would double. In regards to charging, you can charge both...

  • Why is Truck Battery Draining With Trailer Plug Disconnected
There could be many reasons why your truck's battery is draining when the trailer's electrical plug is disconnected. However, only one has to do with the trailer causing the issue. If your vehicle battery maintains its charge when the trailer is NOT plugged in, this would point to a rather unusual situation where your trailer battery is actually grounding through the gooseneck coupler and passing the current through the ball and eventually to the frame of your tow vehicle. Check both...

  • How to Charge Two 6V Batteries Wired in Series
In order to connect your two 6 volt 220Ah batteries together in series I recommend using a minimum of 4 gauge wire on each terminal. In order to charge the batteries you can use either a 6 volt or 12 volt battery charger, it all just depends on how you want to charge them. If you want to charge both together then you will need to use the battery charger in 12 volt mode (if applicable) and at the end of the series. If you want to charge each battery separately then you will need to use the...

  • How to Charge Multiple Batteries of Different Voltages
When charging batteries in a multi-battery setup it is always best to charge each one individually. In the case of two 6-volts wired together in series you would need to keep these connected together and charged as one unless your charger is rated for use with 6V batteries, like our CTEK charger # CTEK56191. Multiple series-wired batteries can be charged all together but this will take a very long time and the battery with the highest Ah capacity will tend to demand most of the available...

  • Trobleshooting Lid Lift Function on Maxxair 7500 Fan
Since the lid motor on your MaxxAir 7500 vent with powered lift # MA00-07500K is operating but the lid stops midway unless you give it some manual assistance the issue is either power-related or the result of a damaged operator mechanism # MA10-20281K-1AF. My tech contact at MaxxAir said that the behavior you describe is often related to low available input power. The vent will detect if the incoming operating voltage is low or marginal and it will stop the lid opening. This is a safety...

  • How To Charge 12 Volt Battery In Enclosed Trailer Powering Lights
Yes, it is possible to use a 12 volt deep cycle marine battery on a trailer to power lights, fans, etc. That said, you will need to combine the amp draw rating of all accessories and then subtract this from the amp hour rating of the battery to make sure you have have enough power. However, most fans and lights don't require much power so you should be alright so long as you are mindful. The Optronics Flexible LED Light Strip part # UCL90CB for example only draws 2.7 amps. • Amount of Power Drawn By Optronics Platinum Burners Off-Road LED Lamps
The Optronics # LS204RW Platinum Burners lamps draw about .3 amps while the # LS16A2WS (which we don't offer) draws about .5. A motorcycle battery would be a good balance between available power and reduced size and weight, and would provide the amount of power you'd need. If you don't already have one, you'll need a charger like # 329-GEN1 to keep the battery charged when not in use.

  • Will 12 Volt Feed from 7-Way on Tow Vehicle Overcharge Trailer Auxiliary Battery
It's impossible for your trailer-mounted auxiliary battery to be overcharged by the vehicle battery via the 12 volt feed on the 7-way since it only passes through a low current trickle-type charge. In fact, this is only enough for a maintenance charge - if your trailer battery is completely depleted, this method of battery charging will not provide a full re-charge. For that, you need to use a battery charger like # 329-GEN1. The battery isolator solenoid # TR118665 along with the fuse...

  • 12-Volt Accessory Circuit from Trailer Connector Not Keeping Trailer Battery Charged
For starters, be aware that the limited wire gauge feeding this 12-volt circuit from the 7-way plus the distance the two batteries are away from each other means that although the tow vehicle battery can provide a maintenance charge to the trailer battery, it won't have sufficient power to charge it once it's discharged or nearly so. A good battery charger like the NOCO # 329-GEN1 should be used to fully charge the battery when shore power is available (which it sounds like you're doing...

This charger would not work for your application unless you have a solar panel that can be ran to the positive input side of the # CTEK40186 charger.
