AJ: What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out this battery charger and maintainer from Duracell. Now this works with up to 1 Amp, and you can connect it to any battery that you need to get that charge up or maintain. So maybe on your vehicle in the winter just to keep that balance, or maybe on something you're not using during the winter, like a lawnmower or an ATV that's sitting inside. You want to make sure that battery stays nice and level so it's ready to go when you're ready to use it. Let's check it out.You have two different options with quick connectors to attach it to the battery you want, you have the two clips here, you can attach the ends, or you have the ring terminals that you can more permanently attach to the battery if you are just going ahead and charging the same thing over and over, and then you can just quick connect it.
The AC adapter here, just like that and it's plugged in. It's the same way with the battery clips, plugs in that easy. And the last thing you do is plug it into power. So plug it in, we'll take a look. See, you got a green light that's flashing, that means it's charging. The green power light on here means there's power, there's no issues.
Now, it automatically detects if you have a 6 Volt battery or a 12 Volt battery. You can manually change it here, but it's green for 12 Volt and it would be blue if you had it hooked up to a 6 Volt. And with the power light here, if there was something wrong or there was an issue, it would be red instead of green. So you know if it's all green, you're good. It also offers some protection, so you don't have to worry about if you just leave it on the battery, it's not going to overcharge it, it's not going to short circuit. So if there's a cross of the wires, or a cut, or something, you don't have to worry about leaving that on there and it causing any issues to your battery, it protects against that.
Also, reverse polarity, so if you we're to do this in a rush and accidentally hook them up to the wrong sides, it wouldn't have any feedback issues or cause any damage to your battery. It does work with the major battery types, and that's lead-acid, gel, AGM. Now, it also helps protect your battery from overcharging by the three charge staging process, so the first stage it's going to charge it more aggressively, then it kind of plateaus, and then it just trickles when it gets close to being filled. It's much like pouring a glass of water, how when you go to pour it, it's more aggressive, a lot more water's coming out, and towards the end of it, as your cups filling up, you got to tilt it back and that way it slows it down by the time the cup's full.Overall, I think it's a good thing to have, especially if you have that battery that sits out in the winter time, like on a lawnmower, and you want to make sure it stays prime and ready to go when it comes to use it again. The same could be said for a snowmobile in the summer.
If you want to hook that up, make sure that battery stays maintained and charged through the whole season, it's going to be ready to go for you. Well, thanks for hanging out, and I hope this helped..

So far so good. I’ve only had it a few weeks, but it’s working well as a battery maintainer to keep my travel trailer deep cycle battery charged over the off-season.
It works great.
It will work, a little expensive for what it is, will probably get a nicer one down the road that indicates which mode it's in.
Great product
