Reese Adjustable Ball Mount - 5,000 lb - RP21141

Average Customer Rating:  5.0 out of 5 stars   (1 Customer Reviews)

Reese adjustable utility ball mount for 2" receivers.

- RP21141

I was recommended this drop hitch by an etrailer employee (to use with a trailer that I completely refurbished, with parts almost exclusively from, and have been using it for a year now. It has been absolutely fantastic, and just what I needed. I am always confident that I'm using a quality product to tow my trailer with, which is imperative when my fur babies are along for the ride! My only complaint, is that the hitch does not come with a square cap to prevent water from sitting within the tubing of the hitch - it's cheap and not hard to find, but would be nice to accompany the hitch at the time of purchase. 336274

  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount or Hitch Extender for Towing Boat Trailer
  • For your 2018 Tahoe and boat trailer needing a longer extension between them I recommend the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 15-3/4" Long - 6,000 lbs # 80232. Having a longer ball mount like this will not reduce the capacity of your hitch at all. This will give you a length of 15-3/4 inches from the center of the ball to the hitch pin hole. For a compatible hitch ball the shank needs to be 1 inch diameter for this mount. I recommend the 2 inch ball # 40038 or 2-5/16...

  • Can A Reese Adjustable Ball Mount Be Used in Both the Rise and Drop Position
  • Yes, adjustable ball mounts like the Reese you have or # RP21141 can be used in either rise or drop position to get the correct ball height. This ball mount has a maximum rise of 6-1/4 inches and a maximum drop of 7-1/2 inches but is not rated high enough for an 11,000 pound trailer. MaxxTow ball mount # MT70380 has a max rise of 8 inches and max drop of 6 inches and is rated for 12,000 pounds.

  • Will Reese Adjustable Ball Mount # RP21141 Fit a 2011 Chevy Suburban
  • The Reese adjustable ball mount, # RP21141, is designed to fit 2 inch trailer hitch receivers. Provided that your 2011 Chevy Suburban has a 2 inch receiver, this ball mount will fit. I spoke with my contact at Reese for some measurements and the center of the hitch pin hole is 6 inches back from the support gusset forward on the ball mount. I have included a picture to show this measurement and others.

  • How to Pick Out the Correct Rise Ball Mount for a 2007 Volvo XC90 towing a Boat Trailer
  • I attached an FAQ on determining the correct rise/drop ball mount for you to check out, but it sounds like you have determined that you need a ball mount with a 3 inch rise. Check out the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 4281, when used in the rise position this ball mount will give you 3 inches of rise. What hitch do you have? Thule does not make hitches for vehicles so I am wondering if you meant to type Valley. The reason I ask is that because all of the hitches we offer for your vehicle recommend...

  • Can I Install Trailer Hitch Upside Down on 1972 Dodge Full Size Pickup
  • We have several trailer hitches that are a confirmed fit for your 1972 Dodge Full Size Pickup. I have included a link to all of the trailer hitches that are a confirmed fit. The B & W trailer hitch, part # BWHDRH25122, is the only hitch that does not require drilling for installation. I spoke with my contact at B & W and he said they do not recommend their hitches be installed upside down because they are not designed and tested that way. You may want to go with a low profile trailer...

  • Recommended Shank and Head for Unique Rise Required on 2011 Toyota Venza
  • You are correct the Curt # C45090 has the 3 inch measurement from the hitch pin center to the edge of that support. You have a deeply recessed hitch based on your description, so there are not any ball mounts that will fit. My recommendation is the Curt Weight Distribution Shank # C17122 which has that support bar 5 inches from the center of the hitch pin. Then you can use the head # C17107 for a hitch ball platform compatible.

  • The Reese Adjustable Ball Mount - 5,000 lb # RP21141 does not offer the parts as separate pieces for purchase. You will need to purchase the entire ball mount. If you want a more cost efficient alternative that is also rated for 5,000 lbs, I recommend the MaxxTow Adjustable-Height Ball Mount # MT70068.
