The Draw-Tite reciever and drawbar are perfect. I have installed several receivers before and this is as easy as it gets. The draw wires for the bolts are great, but don't skip the safety goggles. I was torquing the bolts after just 20 minutes - awesome. I took longer hooking up the wiring. 81239

The drawbar seems to fit loosely in the Draw-Tite reciever and has some movement during use. 126619

A bit of movement between the drawbar and the hitch is perfectly normal. No real risk, but the noise can be annoying.

When it showed up wasn't expecting the hitch to be so beefy! Excellent build quality and paint, this hitch is SOLID. The wiring kit I also ordered was very high quality and well built. I would definitely recommend any of etrailers products to anyone looking for hitches and accessories. 670583

The hitch was a breeze to install on my 2013 Honda Fit, and gutting the rear interior panels to install the 4 pole adapter was easy and fun. It took us an hour and a half to get the job done with two people. It would take a bit longer as a solo job, but it's a very simple install, and would be doable alone using blocks. Wiring tested fine on the trailer. There is a little play in between the drawbar and the hitch receiver, but it's nothing worth worrying about for light towing applications. Drawtite drawbar and Drawtite hitch receiver are made for one another, and I would definitley recommend this solution to anyone looking to tow a kayak or small sport frame trailer with a 2013 Fit. 339866

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2014 Subaru Forester with a Curt Hitch # C12100
It sounds like you have determined the correct amount of rise you would need in order for you to tow your trailer level. But just for good measure I attached a link to the right that details how to pick the correct rise/drop ball mount for a setup. The part # 3594 that you referenced would fit your hitch and would give you the correct amount of rise, but since this ball mount is designed for Class I hitches it will have a lower capacity than Class II ball mounts. So as long as your trailer...

  • How to Measure Ball Mount Rise for Draw-Tite Sportframe Ball Mount # 3594 on a 2002 Buick Regal
Ball mount rise, or drop, is determined by inserting the ball mount into the hitch on your vehicle and measuring from the top of the hitch opening to the top of the ball mount platform. I added a photo showing how the rise and length would be measured on the Draw-Tite Ball Mount # 3594. We also have an informational article that explains how to choose the correct ball mount for your application. All Class I and Class II trailer hitches are tested and rated with the specific ball mount...

  • Why do Some Ball Mounts Have a Drop and Rise and Others Only have a Rise
Some ball mounts, generally Class I and Class II ball mounts, are designed by the manufacturer for use in the rise position only. These ball mount designs are intended for use with vehicles that require a rise only and would be too low to the ground to ever need a lower ball mount. Ball mounts listed with a rise only should not be used in the lowered position because the manufacturer has not tested them for use in that position. Some Class I and Class II ball mounts, like item # 3592,...

  • Does Suspension Sag Factor When Picking Out Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount
Sounds like you are asking about how to pick out a ball mount that allows the trailer to sit as level as possible. Ideally you go with the rise/drop that allows the trailer to sit totally level with it loaded. Since significant sag isn't always present it may not have been addressed directly enough in our help article on the subject. But when I recommend a ball mount for someone I typically will recommend going with the drop that's a little higher than measured for this reason. But suspension...

The short part of the shank would prevent this. For a 1-1/4-inch ball mount with about 4-inches of drop you can use Class II ball mount # 36078 or Class I ball mount # 3593 with 2-3/4-inches of drop, or # C45022 with 3-1/4-inches of drop.
