Purchased a can of BP Blaster penetrating spray the day after I ordered the parts. I sprayed the weld nuts several times while waiting for the parts to arrive and it seemed to help loosen them up. My order arrived on time and I installed the hitch the next morning. I installed the hitch by myself ( I'm 67 years old), and while I admit that an extra set of hands would have been very helpful, the install was easier than I anticipated. I had all the parts I needed, the instructions were easy to follow and the online video was very helpful. I purchased the hitch in order to tow a trailer with a ton of wood pellets, instead of getting 1/2 a ton at a time (the capacity of my truck). Hopefully these products will solve my problem, only time will tell. 392664

Great I didn't know a class 3 hitch needs a 1" ball thread. Most balls Iv'e seen have a 3/4" ball bolt or thread 59117

Product as advertised. Wished I'd paid more attention to what was included and not included. Seller web site did a good job indicating other suggestions on what would go with what you were viewing. So much so, I became dependent on it, and over looked the fact that the pin to hold the ball mount was not included in either the receiver or ball mount. I overlooked this and had to go out and buy this somewhere else. Other than that ordering was easy, and I received everything in a timely manner. It's worth noting that their tracking was dead on as well. It's nice tracking the progress of a package you are waiting for so you can plan your installation. And again, they do a nice job of following up letting you know they received, shipped the order and a link to follow it in transit. 147675

Sorry I did not write back sooner, it’s has been a busy October. I really like everything that I bought. So far I have only used the hitch for my bike rack. But I am planning on using a friends trailer for some yard work and home project jobs. I am a welder by trade and everything is well built and as expected, no issues with anything. I especially like how easy the electrical was to connect to the factory harness. My friend who owns the trailer recently bought another truck and with my recommendation he also purchased a trailer hitch and the other parts he needed from etrailer.com. I have recommended etrailer.com to literally everyone I know. I really like the products and will be a return customer.

Fastest delivery I have ever had. Ordered Wednesday at 5PM, arrived Thursday at 3PM. I'm only a couple hundred miles from Wentzville, but still, excellent. The hitch receiver (2008 Pilot) installed quickly and easily. No need to remove spare or lower muffler. I supported the left end on a large cooler and quickly maneuvered the right side above the tail pipes. The mounting holes were right on target. I had to tap mine to remove rust, but that's easy as well. The wiring harness was also a snapto install. Simple to plug into existing fitting and the wiring box tucked away nicely beneath the trim as advertised. There are options about what to do with the wiring tail and trailer connector. I chose the method shown in the video...leave it rubber-banded in the storage well. Others have run it outside through available holes, but I did not want to leave it exposed to road grime. etrailer's videos were very detailed and shown on my specific vehicle for both the hitch and the wiring harness. Good values as well. If I were Draw-Tite (or Curt) I would include a complementary rubber plug with their logo...cheap advertising. 430539

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. My order arrived in two days. I am impressed both by the layout and functionality of etrailer website and by the quick, free shipment. The hitch for my 20007 Hyundai Santa Fe is well made, well finished and fit perfectly. The estimated installation time of 30 minutes would probably have been accurate had I not had to clean 3 years worth of rust from the mounting nuts installed by the factory. Once clean (no simple task since reaching them with a 10m/1.25 tap was difficult) mounting the tow bar was simple and made easier with a pair of jackstands. Owing to the design and location of the mounts, reaching them required the use of different ratchet extensions and flexible joints and I'm not certain of the accuracy of any torque reading. In summary, I am pleased with the product and impressed by the follow-up from etrailer. I will recommend them without hesitation. 6436

Strong and seems to be well made and well finished. One-inch ball mounting hole. I used this for a Curt hitch mounted on a 2014 Forester and pulls a small Harbor Freight trailer. Perfect height and trailer is level. Warning - don't get their hitch pin, it does not have a hole for a cotter pin, only a weak clip that I would not trust. 108040

Still going strong. I use it to pull a 4x8 utility trailer. Also sometimes plug a hitch carrier into it when I want to haul a few bags of mulch or a couple of propane cylinders or gas cans.

Very nice hitch. This is my third hitch purchase from etrailer.com and as usual, delivery was fast and the install went smoothly. The videos and user comments were very helpful. My vehicle is a few years old so the suggestion to chase the 8 mounting nut holes was spot on. There was a lot of mud and dirt which easily came out but would have been a pain to do while mounting the hitch. Also, the suggestion to spray down the rubber exhaust hangers and muffler heat shield bolts with penetrant (WD40) helped as well. The recommended draw bar and 4-wire harness also mounted beautifully. Got to love those factory installed rear wire harnesses which allow plug-in trailer harnesses on the Honda/Acura products. Total install took about 90 minutes which I think will be typical for a DIY'er who sprays down the bolts, chases the holes and without rushing or using air tools. Will buy again from etrailer.com 60422

After being told it would cost around $1300 to install a trailer hitch I figured I would just rent a truck if I needed to pull a trailer. When I saw your ad I was in but was concerned that it would be too complicated to install myself. I turned out to be super simple including the electrical wiring. I'm recovering from a knee joint replacement so was concerned I couldn't get where I needed to be to get the job done but it was a breeze. Everything works beautifully and is solid as a rock. Thanks for such an exceptional DIY product. Now if you have a hitch for my other car, a 1962 Willys Utility Wagon. I'd like one. 611830

Well there you go! I thought this part came from Arbor fate and apparently it's one of yours. So I don't know if the shaft is too small or the receptacle on the trailer hitch is too big, but it rattles like a son of a gun driving down the road. I resolved it with a liberal use of electricians tape around the shaft but the heat and wear causes that to need to be replaced regularly. Perhaps it's just 64th of an inch too small, but it seems pretty loud to me, and I don't have the world's best hearing 588534

just as described on their web site. Fits the trailer hitch and very satisfied. Only thing I would recommend being purchased with the trailer hitch is instead of the normal pin with carter pin. I would advise purchasing a key locking pin so that no one can steal your draw-tite ball mount and also steal the replacement mount you purchase that slides into the slot when towing anything, People have had there College Logos stolen because they did not have a key locking pin to avoid anyone just walking up undoing the carter pin, pulling the pin and walking away with those and the hitch cover. So if ETRAILER.COM sells the locking pin I would purchase it from them instead of the normal pin. 580465

If you need a locking pin I recommend part # 7683
Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Flush Design for 2" Trailer Hitches
$19.38
. Please keep in mind this lock will not work with double-walled hitches or some factory 2 trailer hitches that have an outside width wider than 2-58. If a longer pin length is needed, see hitch lock part # RH5-XL
Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Extra Long - Flush Design for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches

Product is well built. I needed an antisway tab on the opposite side from the product pictured online, so I called and asked whether etrailer had a separate tab that I could weld where I needed it. Etrailer had it and the two items arrived very quickly by mail. I now have the ball height I wanted and a good short distance from ball to bumper--and the antisway tab ball mount. The setup should be just right for towing my 16' Casita with the Chevy Trail Blazer. 579202

Seems heavy duty enough and the pin bolt goes on quickly, slight concern over safety pin( carter pin) whether it will not get knocked out. Should not... pin under a load should not slide back and forth anyway. Thanks etrailer.com .. 560279

  • We have everything you need to be able to safely tow a trailer with your 2018 Mazda CX-9. To do this you will need a trailer hitch, a wiring harness, and a ball mount/hitch ball combo. I did take a look at the online version of the owner's manual and found that the 2018 Mazda CX-9 has a towing weight capacity of 3,500 pounds. Starting with the trailer hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame # 76020. Its higher capacities and integrated wiring harness bracket on the crosstube...

  • How to Carry a Hitch Mount Bike Rack on Motorhome While Also Using a Tow Dolly
  • We do have a solution for you but the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-8 that you referenced is actually meant to be used for flat towing only. Roadmaster didn't design it to be used for towing a trailer or a tow dolly. There are other options like this with part # MT70070 but this will reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch by 50% so you may not have enough tongue weight capacity if you are carrying a bike rack and some bikes. The only solution that will...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation for 2016 Kia Sorento
  • You're looking for a ball mount. Ball mounts are available in different heights so the trailer can be towed level. You'd measure the difference between the inside top of the receiver tube and the height of the underside of the trailer coupler. The difference would be the rise or drop needed. I'll link you to an FAQ article that explains how to take the measurement. To choose the proper ball mount, first you'll need to know whether you have a 1-1/4 or a 2 inch receiver opening. Just measure...

  • Trailer Hitch And Wiring Recommendations For 2002 Chevrolet Tracker For Towing Small Trailer
  • Since you said you are planning on towing a small trailer with brakes behind your 2002 Chevrolet Tracker, I will make recommendations for all of the items you will need. First, the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C13517 is a good choice for a hitch on your vehicle. This is a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. Even though you are limited by the towing capacity of the vehicle, installing a hitch with a 2 inch receiver gives you many more options for hitch-mounted items like...

  • The folks at Draw-Tite tell me that their Class III Trailer Hitch, part # 75772 is compatible with your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with the 2.0L Turbo engine. If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, you might need the following accessories: -Trailer wiring harness w/ 4-pole trailer connector, part # 118571 or # 118269 for vehicle with the tow package. -Ball mount, part # 2923 -1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19260 -2 inch trailer ball, part # 63845 I've linked...

  • To pull a small utility trailer with your 2011 Nissan Frontier you will need a hitch, ball mount, hitch ball, and a wiring harness for lighting on the trailer. If your Nissan did not come with a factory tow package, you would need to use Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness, part # 118263. This harness comes with the relays needed and the wiring required to make everything functional on a trailer. I have included a link to the installation details for you. The hitch I would recommend would...

  • Does The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch Fit A 2004 Volvo XC90 With Spare Tire Underneath
  • The Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13559, on the 2004 Volvo XC90 will not interfere with the spare tire. The spare tire is removed before the hitch is installed to allow easier access to the mounting locations on the vehicles frame. After the hitch is installed then the spare tire can be put back in place. The installation video of the hitch on the 2010 Volvo XC90 did not show them removing the spare tire or reinstalling it after installation. There is a tie down bracket underneath the vehicle...

  • Short Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2013 Volkswagen Touareg
  • Having a ball mount that is longer should not be an issue. It actually can provide more clearance when turning. The standard for a 2 inch ball mount is around 8 to 8-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. We currently offer several aluminum ball mounts for 2 inch hitches that have a 2 inch drop. Alumistinger, # AM3503 Self-Locking ball mount, # DTLBM8200 Solid aluminum ball mount, # DTBM5200

  • How to Measure to Choose a Ball Mount with the Right Rise or Drop to Tow a Trailer Level
  • I can help you out with choosing a ball mount. You do want the trailer to be level when you tow it so there are some measurements needed to determine the drop or rise needed to tow the trailer level. First, measure from level ground up to the top of the receiver opening on your 2011 Ford F-150. Then use the trailer jack to level the boat and measure from level ground to the bottom of the coupler. If the hitch is taller than the coupler the difference between the two measurements is...

  • Will I Be Able to Keep the Spare Tire When I Install Curt Hitch # 13020 on my 2002 Chevy Blazer 4x4
  • According to the installation instructions you will just raise the hitch into position and then torque down the included nuts and bolts to the specified torque rating and you will be set. There is no mention having to modify/remove the spare tire at all. I would assume that as long as your spare tire is the original factory size tire you would have no issues with it at all installing this hitch on your 2002 Chevy Blazer 4x4 with 4 doors. You may need the following items to complete...

It will not fit the 118 inch wheelbase vehicle. To fit the Sprinter with the dual rear wheels the width between the frame rails will need to measure 35-1/4 inches. On the 2006 Dodge Sprinter, the Draw-Tite hitch # 75210 will fit if you have the factory bumper that is molded to match the design of the vehicle. It will not fit...
