Used on my 1999 Dodge Intrepid's CURT 12006 Class II 1.25 in. Receiver Hitch: 350lbsTW/3500 lbs GTW. I use this Curt Class II Drawbar - 3-7/8" Rise - 11-1/4" Long - 3,500 lbs to tow a 3,500+ GTW dual axle trailer. I have used it with the trailer FULLY loaded and it performs EXCELLENT. You have to make sure the trailer is loaded correctly so as not to put too much down force on the tongue/drawbar. I was skeptical that the SOLID 1.25" bar would not take the load, but it is super strong. I chuck it in the trunk when not in use to protect passerby's shins, but it sticks out far enough clear the Intrepid's bumper, and is solid with a 2" ball (required a bushing). etrailer got it out fast at a good price! I would totally purchase this again from them.

Comments
I stand by my review completely. Super rigid drawbar and powder coating has held up well. Not much to go wrong with it and I am still amazed at its strength.

It was the perfect size for my 2018 Chevy Cruze, coming up around the rear bumper with plenty of room yet could tow over 2,000 lbs. Trailer height to trailer hitch height was perfect.

by:

Every part excellent quality. Perfect fit, all parts were exact for my vehicle. Watched the video on youtube for wiring and being a mechanic for over 50 years was able to connect signal lights all from driver side of harness. Instead of leaving plug inside trunk I wired through the rubber outlet to the back of the hitch ready for use. Very happy highly recommend etrailer.

Very happy with products all high quality feel confident using. Thanks

Not much to say! really ! I had ordered another hitch for a certain height so I could have clearance of the hitch from the rear door of my Toyota Rav4, the size was perfect, the Mini-Camper-Utility trailer sits 1 inch off level tilting forward , when loaded it sits perfectly level, I can open the rear door 3/4's its full swing, It came in the post wonderfully wrapped, came on time, I have made purchases from etrailer in the past with spectacular service, a follow up e mail that, should I have any problems it would be taken care of. I highly recommend etrailer to all, and a big thank you to Ms. Ashley E. for a spectacular service. Jim Raymond Massachusetts

My hitch receiver is low to the ground on a Honda Civic. This raised my hitch ball about 4" so my kayak trailer tows level, and is now less likely to bottom out on a driveway.

by:

Very good ball mount. I have it on a 2012 Toyota Corolla S with 16" wheels. If I had to do it over again, I'd get a lower rise since the 3-1/8" rise on this model seems a little high for my car, but no big deal. I might also get a little shorter one since this mount is 11-1/4" long, but again no big deal. I'm keeping ball mount, it's also good protection if I ever get rear-ended in my small car (it's happened before and my truck sustained no damage whatsoever thanks to ball mount--unlike the car that rear-ended my truck).

by:

Accurate description and fits great.

by:

Installed the drawbar...fits easily into the receiver and looks to be a good height when combined with the C12252 Curt trailer hitch receiver on the 2012 Impala. Didn't rate excellent because I haven't used it to tow yet.

by:

I received this receiver about 5:00 PM only three days after ordering it. I called the customer and he delivered his car at 7:00 PM. I installed the the receiver, the taillight converter and wiring, called the customer back and He picked it up ready to tow his trailer by 8:15 PM. That is amazing. Flawless fit and function. That is how to satisfy a customer.

by:

Received the hitch components promptly and in excellent condition. Followed the video instructions and had a successful installation without a "hitch". The sales tech was very helpful.

by:

Ordered all three items on 3/16/15 and it was delivered 4 days later (3/20/15) as promised. Can't say enough about what excellent customer service this order system was and very simple to use. The promised date of delivery was right on the money.
I've already installed the hitch and wire assembly and the instructions were very easy to follow.
Thank you

by:

Fits well but did not have the pin for the receiver extension. I purchased both extension and hitch from this site and would have figured it would be complete.

Great!!! etrailer has great selection, prices and quality. I always buy from them! I bought Chevy Malibu class one hitch to pull our jet ski, no issues, still have it installed!

by:

got it in yesterday, very very fast shipping and delivery.
I am well pleased with the product, cannot complain about it craftsmanship at all, very well built.

I added a rattle reducer along with this, I do recommend anyone putting a rattle/noise reducer on along with not only this but with any hitch insert.

plain and simple they all will rattle and make noise..

but overall I recommend this to anyone... you will not be disappointed.

Mine is on my 2016 KIA Soul, 2.0 L
I have one of the Scoota Trailers designed to haul my mobility scooter...

by:

This item is what I was looking for. I needed a longer ball mount and this fits the bill. It is well made and it fits good, it's not sloppy in the receiver like some other brand names. Shipping was fast.

by:

Good product, sturdy and made out of solid steel. Before ordering I suggest measuring the distance from the hitch pin hole to the back of the bumper. The first ball mount I received was unfortunately not long enough

by:

Drawbar came as described and fit the 1.25" receiver without problem. Purchase was on the doorstep earlier than delivery time estimate when ordered. This was my second purchase with absolutely no issues. A great place to do business.

by:

This drawbar is exactly what I needed. It attaches to the hitch with no noticeable issue, and clears the rear bumper. Excellent!

by:

It work sas described

by:

Ease of install--Great. Worse part exhaust lowering. Other than that product is great. Wire harness install- a five year old could do it. very satisfied will always come to you, have now got my business.

by:

I have a small cargo trailer and this works great, the right length and rise.

by:

I just got my order,Katherina could not have been better, ever thing was just like it
should be,When I call to ask about the hitch I was not going to order that day but
she was so helpful that I ordered then,it took three days to get here,I'm putting
it on a 2007 Chev. Impala,I don't have a camera to take any pictures but I know it
will fit fine.I will be telling all my friends about you. Thank you Katherina

  • What is Rise of Curt Ball Mount # C45522
Actually we've had this come up a few times. We've had three different people measure this ball mount and we've all come up with 3-7/8 inches of rise despite what Curt's site says. If you need a 3-7/8 inch rise ball mount this one WILL work great for you.

  • Recommended Extended Ball Mount With Rise To Keep Trailer From Hitting The Ground
It sounds like you need a new ball mount. We do have ball mounts that have a rise, which would lift the coupler of your trailer and possibly give you the clearance you need. If you have a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver opening and need about 3-1/8 inches of additional clearance I recommend part # C45522. This measures 11-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the ball mount hole which should give you plenty of additional room to keep from mashing your hand. If you have...

  • Ball Mount Recommendation with More Rise than Curt # C45016
The Curt ball mount part # C45016 has a rise of 2-5/8 inches so for a ball mount with more rise you'd want the # C45522 if you were looking for 3-7/8 inches of rise instead. This also fit a Class II hitch. You would want to check out the FAQ article I attached below on picking out the correct rise/drop ball mount as well.

If you need a wiring harness for towing, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, # 118450. This is a confirmed fit wiring harness for the 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, excluding LTZ models. A good ball mount for this hitch is the Curt Drawbar # C45522.

  • Can a Cadillac CTS-V Tow a Trailer
I do have an option for you depending on what year your Cadillac CTS-V is but they do not offer a trailer hitch with a 2" receiver tube for this vehicle. As you mentioned, power is not an issue on the V model but other factors such as frame strength come into play when trailer manufacturers decide if they will offer a trailer hitch with a 2" receiver tube for the vehicle. Now, with that being said a 2" receiver tube is not required to tow a trailer but you will need to abide by the towing...
