Double-Duty Corrosion Resistance

A close-up view of the etrailer ball mount inserted in the hitch receiver

Most ball mounts have just 1 layer of paint or powder coat to protect them from the outside world. Scratch this away after towing just a couple times, and the raw metal underneath will start to rust before you know it. Some folks take pride in that rusty, worn-in look. After all, rust is proof that you've had plenty of road-worn adventures.

But we prefer something that works hard and looks like it's barely broken a sweat. That's why we added a layer of e-coat underneath the matte black powder coat to give you an extra layer of rust protection. So while others might be driving around with a flaking, rusted-out hitch, yours will be looking great for the long haul.

Quick Tip: As for the hitch ball itself, if you really want to make sure that black nickel stays looking fresh for longer, we suggest greasing it up before you tow.

I tested this out hauling my 24' pontoon last week. Perfect amount of drop for my truck / trailer combo and it's small enough to toss under the seat when I need to use my hitch for something else, but ready to grab and go when I need it.

by:

Easy to follow instructions and perfect fit made an easy install.
Also, quick response to missing items due to shipping issue (not etrailer's fault either.)A+++

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy
If you are concerned with the budget our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e95ZR you found is a great option for your 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. If you want the best looking I would go with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # 391HYUNPALIS19 since you can easily remove the receiver shank when not needed and maintain the clean factory appearance. To tow with the Stealth Hitches receiver they have the Towing Kit # SH28GR which contains wiring and a ball mount with a 2" ball....

  • How to Determine Correct Ball Mount Drop For Toyota Highlander With 2 Inch Hitch
Hey Lisa, So while I wouldn't' be able to tell you the exact drop you need for your ball mount when towing with your 2019 Toyota Highlander, but I can tell you how to determine the right one. It's actually really easy as you just need to measure from the ground to the top of your Highlander's hitch, and then from the ground to the bottom of your trailer's coupler. For example, if you measured 17 inches from the ground to the top of your Highlander's hitch, and 15 inches from the ground...

  • Recommended Hitch and Wiring for 2022 Subaru Outback
Hello Chan; for a hitch that fits your 2022 Subaru Outback I recommend the etrailer Hitch # e25TR. This is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and a bolt-on installation. It has a concealed cross tube, so only the receiver is visible, and a matte black finish. The hitch also features a limited lifetime warranty. For wiring, you need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56040. This plugs into the connection point in the rear cargo area and will give you a 4-way to power your...

  • What Hitch Ball Size For 2023 Lance 1475 Travel Trailer
Hey Mike, The hitch ball size should match the trailer's coupler, and per Lance, your 2023 Lance 1475 travel trailer uses a 2" hitch ball. So you'll just want to match the diameter of the hitch ball's shank to that of your ball mount. For example, if your ball mount has a 1-1/4" diameter hitch ball hole you could use the 2" Hitch Ball # CB26C, or if it has a 1" diameter hole you could use the 2" Hitch Ball # SC23-C. You could also use a ball mount that has a 2" ball already installed,...

  • Best Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2024 Kia Telluride SX X-Line
Hello Ron; the best trailer hitch for your 2024 Kia Telluride SX X-Line is the etrailer # e45ZR. All of the hitches have a similar design and specs but the etrailer hitch stands apart with its matte black finish. This gives it an OEM look and also helps hide inevitable dirt and scratches. Since you have the SX with LED taillights the correct wiring harness is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C29ZV. I'm assuming you're towing so you will also...

Hello Roberto; the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e95ZR will fit your 2024 Hyundai Palisade. This hitch has a bolt-on installation and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. If you plan on towing you will also need wiring and a ball mount. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C43FV will give you a 4-way to power your trailer's signal lights. If you want to add a 7-way you can use the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK64CR instead. For a ball mount, check...

  • Components Needed To Tow A Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer With A 2017 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk
Hi Coleen, In order to tow the Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer # MPG464-LB you'll need a trailer hitch receiver, 4-pole trailer wiring harness, and a ball mount with a 2" hitch ball. If you don't have one or more of these components then I have the following recommendations: Trailer Hitch: etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e62TR. Wiring: Pollak # HM40975-11933. This is for models with the factory tow package and would plug into a connector at the back of the vehicle for a quick and...

  • Trailer Hitch Ball Mount For 2" Trailer Coupler That Sits Than Toyota 4Runner Receiver
Hello Lathaniel, we have just what you're looking for with our etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball # e67DR. It only has 2" of drop so that should allow your trailer to sit level; also this ball mount is ready to go and you won't have to worry about trying to install the ball and torque it down to an insane amount of torque. It's also matte black so it blends in well, and has a strong black nickel coating which protects the hitch ball more than chrome or raw. Since you want an anti-rattle...

  • Availability of Class I Hitch for 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid
Hello Stephen; all of the hitches available for your 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid are Class III like the Curt # C84BR. To use your bike rack you can add a reducer like the # e58YR. The only issue with an adapter is that it will cut the capacity of the hitch by 50%. I doubt this will be an issue since you have a Class I bike rack. I'm sure the tow dolly has a coupler so all you will need for that is a ball mount that fits a 2" receiver like the # e67DR.

  • Best Hitch for 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid
Hello Bob; we have two hitches available for your 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid, the etrailer # e89YR and the Curt # C23FR. The design and specs are the same so it really comes down to a preference on the finish between the two. I prefer the matte black on the etrailer hitch since it has more of an OEM look. This also helps to hide dirt and scratches. Since you will be towing you will also need wiring and a ball mount. The Curt # C75CR will provide you with a 4-way to power your trailer's signal...
