Video Transcript for Rear View Safety Inc Backup Cameras and Alarms - Trailer Camera Systems - RVS-770613-213 Review

We're gonna take a look at the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System, with the trailer tow quick connect kit. Now this backup camera system is perfect for fifth wheel applications. It starts with this seven inch digital TFT LCD color monitor. Has a nice super sharp digital display, a very thin monitor. Has an 800 by 480 pixel resolution. When you do turn it on it does give you distance grid lines, which are optional.

You can turn them off, or turn them on, whichever you prefer. Does have mirror image capability, also uses built in speakers, has auto dimming. The buttons on the front here to operate it are back lit so they will illuminate in the dark. Comes with this nice wireless remote to control it also. And I've had it installed on this monitor mount.

It's a flexible monitor mount that you can put in any position, and if you do use it, on the very bottom they do have a double stick tape that will adhere it to many different surfaces. This also comes with the color CCD back up camera. This is a 130 degree viewing angle. Comes with 18 infrared lights in it for 50 feet of infrared night vision. It does meet the IP69K rating, which means it's shock resistant, keeps out any dirt and moisture, and it does meet the 20G impact rating. Now it comes with all the brackets you need, all the hardware, a nice set of detailed instructions and description of how to operate everything.

Then it comes with the trailer tow quick kit connect and disconnect kit. Basically what that is, that includes the 26 foot truck side cable right here. Over here, oops, over here I mean, this 66 foot trailer side cable, and then over here is the 12 foot quick connect coil cable. That should do it for the review on the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System with the trailer tow quick connect kit.

This is an excellent rear view camera system. Because it is wired and not wireless, it is more work to install, requiring running wires the length of both the trailer and tow vehicle, including wiring into the tow vehicle's cab and power supply, and setting up a semi-permanent/removeable mount for the video display. However, there is no need to find a power supply at the trailer. The display itself is excellent, both daytime and at night and the optional distance bars on the display are very useful, both in parking the trailer and monitoring the blind spot when on the road. Having a microphone in the camera that provides sounds from the video display is a nice touch and quite handy when parking. The instructions are excellent, although there is one instruction left out that explains how the sound volume is controlled; obviously, the sound should be turned off when on the road. Overall an excellent system and highly recommended. 806847

Good clear view with an exceptional wide angle, so much better than mirrors. A bit time consuming to install cleanly but worth the price in time and money. Would recommend this to others. 664777

I have a pull behind camper and I like to see what is behind the camper as I go down the road. The camera is wired to an AUX switch so I can have it on when I need it. The camera is also great for backing the camper. The monitor is mounted to a block of wood to fit in two of the four cup holders so I can store it when not in use, out of sight. 643839

Excellent product. The installation instructions are in need of improvement. The manual is not spot on with monitor operation and a pig tail was included that had no mention in the instructions as to it's use. Install time is not short nor is it an easy job. I went with a hard wired system because the issues you may get with wireless become mute with this unit. I honestly can say that if wireless backup cameras get where they come close to a wired system I would go that route because the install is so much easier. All in all RVS has good products, service and the availability of parts and accessories if needed. This system is installed on a 21 foot + travel trailer pulled by a 1500 Ram. 637738

I installed this product on my motor home to help with the problem of hooking up to a trailer, and seeing what is directly behind the vehicle. Works great! The speaker connection works great for communication between the driver and person helping to get hooked up to the trailer. I also hooked it up to power on with the key so I can keep an eye on what is on the trailer, loose straps, something moving, etc. I highly recommend this product for those that use a trailer behind a bigger vehicle that you can't see out of the mirrors. Has enough cable to do a semi trailer if needed. Installation was very straightforward and easy. Just plug and play for most of it. 514217

I installed a backup camera on my 40' 5th wheel travel trailer. LOVE it! Dialed in the guidelines, flipped the image to mirror view and can nail the tight parking spaces like a professional. Lets me keep an eye on the bikes on the bike rack too. The night vision feature is great. The microphone/speaker works well when I need a real person spotting (which is almost never now). Now my wife can just talk to me, no more yelling. Installation wasn't too difficult as the cable fit behind the weather strip along the corners of the coach. If you want to know what's in the blind spot behind you, good choice here. And the monitor has 2 more video connections to use too. Might add a hookup camera next. Anyway, buy it. 484319

  • Recommended Backup Camera for Towing a 23' Travel Trailer with a 2017 Ram 1500
For your application I highly recommend the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System with Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit # RVS-770613-213 because Rear View Safety is one of the best systems out there and this kit comes with the quick disconnect so that you can easily hook up the trailer camera via hardwiring (which is a more secure connection). The camera that comes with this system has a 130-degree viewing angle and has 50' or infrared night vision. Simply connect the power of the camera...

  • Recommended Camera and Monitor System to Use with a 20 foot Trailer
A lot of it really just depends on what you are looking for in a camera. Some people just want one while they are backing up while others would like to use it for observation. Hardwired vs Wireless is another variable as well. One of the most popular backup cameras that we have comes from Rear View Safety with part # RVS-770613-213. This is a hardwired option that comes with a 66 foot cable for the trailer so it will have no problem running the length of your trailer. It also comes...

  • Backup Camera Troubleshooting on 5th Wheel Trailer
It sounds like your wireless backup camera system is having some transmitter and receiver issues. This is often due to other wireless systems interfering but sometimes it is simply that the reception doesn't work well with a particular 5th wheel trailer's makeup. Multiple barriers and aluminum in particular are difficult to receive a clear picture connection through. Many systems weren't intended for 5th wheel trailer use so the transmission distance isn't big enough. If you want...

  • Back Up Camera for Hooking Up Fifth Wheel Trailer on 2015 Ford F-250
For a camera to help hook up your fifth wheel trailer I suggest a wireless system, like the Swift Hitch Wireless Hitch Alignment Camera and Monitor # 04928. With a wireless camera it won't need to stay mounted on your truck except when you're using it. If you prefer a hardwired option the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System with Trailer Tow Quick Connect Kit # RVS-770613-213.

For a backup camera for your Kodiak Cub 175HB travel trailer being towed by your 2018 GMC Canyon, I recommend the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System, Item # RVS-770613-213. This unit is hardwired so signals are sent through the wires from the camera to the monitor. A nice advantage to this system is once installed pairing and connection will not be an issue. • Best Backup Camera for a 2017 Jayco 28RLS and 2018 Ford F-150
In order to get clear, uninterrupted signal for your backup camera each and every time you hit the road no matter weather conditions, speed, or surrounding etc. you are going to want to use a wired system. There are wireless systems available with range extenders/transmitters but there is always going to be instances in which you could lose signal. • Best Trailer and Truck Backup Camera Combo On My 2006 Ford F-250
I recommend getting a backup camera as it will save you a lot of time and hassle, I remember when I used to get in and out of my Tahoe 4-5 times just to get the ball lined up or make sure I'm clearing whatever obstacle is in my way when backing up. Let's try and take this one at a time to make things easier; to start with the black wire from the 7-way plug (the 12V) should be run to the pair of 12V batteries you already have in the battery box. In terms of grounding they will be grounded through your Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D.
