Hi, everyone. I'm Evie Angeline right here at etrailer. Different bike racks fit different vehicles in different ways. So what we're looking at today is how the Hollywood Racks cross track fits on the 2024 Buick Envision. And this bike rack, a lot of people like because of the dual wheel mount design, making it a lot easier to secure your bike by the front and the rear wheel. You can also get this bike rack with the ramp or without.
Now, on the Envision, I actually think you don't need the ramp. So we're gonna talk about some unique things that we see with this pairing here. The first is gonna be with our Envision, we have a hitch that is a lot closer to the vehicle compared to some other styles. It's gonna be a more recessed hitch, which means we're gonna have less clearance between our bikes and our car. In our case here, we actually have plenty of room between the pedals and the handlebars.
And if I we inchesre to tilt this rack away, well, we'll actually have plenty of clearance between the hatch door and all those things because the Envision has a pretty short hatch door, giving lots of space. So if I needed to grab, let's say a helmet, or some waters real quick, or switch out my shoes, I can totally do so without having to take the bike off. Notice there again, the clearance between the car and our bike. Bring this back up into position. Now we are ready to drive.
So how does it secure the bike You have your front and your rear wheel mount. If you we inchesre to take the bike off, it's simply a matter of pressing this lever here and then pushing this out. And once you get further out, you can actually operate this with just one hand till that mount hits the ground. Now, I actually don't remove that rear mount just yet because this is the perfect time to attach the ramp. The ramp just clips into those tabs at the end, and now we're in place.
You do have to lower the mount first for that to go through. So just remember that before you lower that mount. And now we can just roll the bike down to the ground. Since this has a capacity of up to 66 pounds, that's a move that would be especially helpful with those heavier electric bikes. More rolling means less lifting that you may have to do. This ramp can secure in the front or the rear side of the tray, whichever one makes the most sense for you and with how you are parked. Now let's just bring this back up. (rack clicking) (rack thudding) And that secures. So with this, I honestly don't think that it's as necessary to use the ramp with the vehicle, simply because of the height and the clearances where it sits off the ground, while it would be helpful if you do have it. So measuring for those clearances, if I was to measure from the bumper to the end of the rack, that's a measurement of 34 inches. So something to be mindful of if you have to park somewhere or if you have a small garage. The good news is since the Envision doesn't take up that much space anyways, you should be good to go, and you have a little bit more room to spare. Next measurement is from the bottom of the rack to the ground, I had at 17 1/2 inches. That's what I'm talking about for ground clearance. The height that you're gonna have to lift your bike up and off the ground to get onto the rack, as well as if you go over speed bumps, potholes, or steep inclines, you'll want more ground clearance but not too much, which is what we kind of have here. Bringing this up to the more compact position, you have two options here. So some people like it in this angled position. This is where you could put it in case you have groceries in your hand and you wanna put them away into the car. This gives clearance to be able to open up that door, pass your groceries in. Bringing this back down, we'll then be able to move our bike rack into the even more compact position, which is where you'll have it when you're driving around town. (rack clicking) All the way up like that. Taking some measurements. Let's see. Bumper to the end of the rack, it's now eight inches. So big difference compared to when this was folded down. And if you we inchesre a vehicle behind this one, this is what you would see. You'll see that the rear window is visible, the taillights are visible. The one thing that isn't visible, well, I guess two, is your backup camera and your license plate, backup camera being centered right over there. So what's gonna happen is while the Envision does have plenty of other cameras, you will lose visibility through this one. I do recommend always checking your mirrors as well as your rear window, and also checking the settings of your car since there are a lot of safety sensors, specifically when you are backing up on the Buick Envision. But with all that being said, whether you have an inch and a quarter or a two-inch hitch receiver, there is a Hollywood Racks cross track for you. There is a single-bike version which I really like, since I was able to open up the hatch even with it completely folded up. But if you we inchesre to carry around two bikes, this is a very quick and easy way to do so. You can get this bike rack on its own or with the ramp, or get the ramp separately as options here at etrailer, whichever works best for you, your lifestyle, and your car. Hopefully this video was helpful for you though, with you seeing how it may interact with your vehicle. Lightweight, quick assembly, strong pro duct.
Great product, service and timely deliv ery.
Durable, easy to assemble, love the loc ks!
This is my second Hollywood trailer for my electric bikes and they are superb and very well-made
It's a nice bike rack, well built.
The Hollywood Crosstrack Bike Rack for 1 bike arrived as scheduled and today I removed the old rack and replaced it with this one.
I bought this as a replacement to my Hollywood racks destination, which was a great rack to get me into biking. Got a new bike and the wheelbase is longer, so I needed a rack. I wanted a rack with no frame contact, which there’s the original design and several competitors now- I think Hollywood merged into the category well and added things like a simple tool-less anti-wobble at the hitch, wheel chock to keep front wheel more stable, and a nice handle to raise/lower the rack. It’s very good looking and finished nicely. The only complaint I have is in the tolerances of the rack- it does have some play in it, and this may even be by design to prevent the raise/lower latch from binding. While most of the rack is sturdy metal, including the “red” pieces, there are some plastic components- they seem well-designed, so we’ll see. The added cable lock is a nice value, and I’m also considering their keyed wheel locks for convenience
Love it. The only thing that would make it better for me is if it were expandable for a second bike, but that’s a minor drawback. Looking forward to getting the ramp to go along with it.
Sturdy frame ,easy assembly. Put it together in 25 minutes ( quicker if I didn’t drop a washer)
Popped the bike on and ratcheted it down in seconds. Very intuitive system. Bike sat rock steady the entire trip. Came with a ramp as a bonus but It was easy enough to load without. Very small footprint deployed and when folded up. Comes with set of reflective sticker for better night time visibility. A great option for single bike transport. I am still
