Video Transcript for Review of Gen-Y Hitch Trailer Hitch Ball Mount - Adjustable 2 Ball 2-1/2 Inch Receivers - GY66PR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Gen Y adjustable two ball mount with two and a half inch stacked receivers. Now this adjustable ball mount is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. This mounting plate is going to attach to your heavy duty tow vehicle or to a hitch-mounted pintle plate. The included two inch or two and five 16th inch hitch balls, they're gonna give you a connection point for your trailer coupler.

And as you can see here, we have 1, 2, 3 stacked, two and a half inch receivers that are going to accept this included ball mount and pinto lock as well as other hitch-mounted accessories. And as you can see, two pins and clips are included with this to secure the accessories to the re the stacked receivers, and the accessory pinhole diameter is five eighths of an inch. And I just wanted to give you a brief demonstration of how to use that pinto lock in case you we inchesre unfamiliar with it. So when you use your two and five 16th inch hitch ball, you can use this to attach a lunette ring. So you would just slide your lunette ring over the two and five 16th inch hitch ball, and then just remove the pin and clip here.

And then that's going to allow you to extend the pin lock there over the lunette ring. And then you'll just replace the pin and clip, and then that'll secure the pinto lock over that ring. And then when you're ready to remove the ring, you can just retract this back into that position like we had it and replace the pin and clip, and remove the lunette ring and use this two and five 16 inch fall for your coupler as you would normally. And so this lunette rate, this pinto lock can actually be removed if you wanted to use that receiver. So that is a really nice addition that they include with this.

You are going to get a maximum drop or a maximum rise of six inches. So of course that adjustable height is going to let you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. And so that's going, that this is going to be able to lower a rise depending on what you need. The two inch ball has a capacity of 16,000 pounds and a maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds to two and five 16 inch hitch ball has a gross towing capacity of 21,000 pounds, and a maximum tongue weight of 2,400 pounds. The bolt pattern here is gonna be compatible with most standard pinto plates, and it can be bolted or weld welded directly onto your application.

And if you do weld this, it's probably gonna be a really good idea to remove this finish here to give you a nice clean surface to weld that onto. Let me see if I can give you some measurements of that plate. So looking at the width, about six and a half inches. And then looking at the height, 12 and a half inches. So some other measurements while I got my ruler out here, I wanna give you the measurement from the end of the plate, all the way to the middle of our hitch balls here. So lining that up the best way that I can. It looks like we're sitting right at about seven and three quarters inches. And then just to the end of the mount itself, without the balls, without including the balls there, about four and three quarters inches. This is made here in the USA of a heavy duty steel construction with a zinc primer, and powder coat to resist rust and corrosion. And as you might know, gen Y has a great reputation of building very solid, robust products, and this is no exception to that. This has been built and designed to last, so you're not gonna have to worry about this degrading or anything like that. Gen Y is typically known for overbuilding their product. So this is gonna last you a long time. It's really gonna be a great investment that you are making. This is SAEJ684 certified and it does have a limited lifetime warranty from Gen Y.
