Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. And today we're taking a look at the Fulton A-frame coupler. Now, this is going to be a wedge latch style coupler, and it has a gray finish. We'll be able to use this with a 2/5 16th inch ball. The whole diameter for our jack is 2 1/4 inch. And then we'll have three pre-drilled holes, that are actually pre-threaded as well, for that hardware, which should be about 3/8 of an inch in diameter. Our latch here allows us to easily open that up.
It does have a little trigger there to open it all the way and then close it down to lock it in place. There is a small hole that we can put a lock through to keep everything secure, and that will need to have a diameter of about a 1/4 inch with a span that's going to be at least.I'd say at least an 1 inch and an 1/8, if not an inch and a 1/4 to get across that latch piece there. This does go out at a 50 degree angle for your A frame trailers. Everything is powder coated. Although, you might notice that it is a little scuffed in some places, so it might not be a bad idea, even with this primer, to give it another coat of paint before you get it welded on to your trailer. It is a weld-on design. The weight capacity for this is going to be 14,000 pounds. It does come with a three-year limited warranty from Fulton, and that's going to do it for our look at the Fulton A-frame coupler in a wedge latch style..

High-strength, weld-on, stamped coupler for 50-degree-angle trailer frames features an easy-to-use wedge latch and a convenient, built-in A-frame jack-attachment port.Great coupler for new trailer fabrications. The gray
paint needs to be removed and the moving parts of the coupler neeed to be removed before hot dip galvanized of the frame.
Feel a lot safer with the new heavy duty coupler
I needed to replace my trailer coupler due to a broken hitch. The original coupler was bolted onto the aluminum frame. The hitch from trailer was an exact match minus the holes for the bolts. Just used a drill press to drill new holes. Great coupler and the hitch is better than my original.
Got the coupler exactly as advertised so it made project planning easier. The selection was huge so I was able to order the coupler that suits my needs best. I don't have the old 2 inch coupler off yet but when I finish the install of the 2 5/16, I'll send a pic. Thanks for just the right product and quick delivery.....don
strong and works great. only complaint is won't lock open.
Great coupler. Second one I've installed from etrailer. I really like the spring loaded latch. After trailer and coupler were preped it welded up easily.
Product was as advertized and delivered very promptly. I have bought from etrailer before and will again next time. I would suggest etrailer to anyone building or rebuilding a trailer.

I installed the coupler on a trailer I built to haul a 30 sailboat. It worked great for me. I sold the trailer to someone who hauled a 28 sailboat over 3000 miles. it worked great for him too. The trailer was sold a 3rd time and now hauls a 31 sailboat. Safety is paramount when building a trailer that will be used on a public road and all boats hauled on this trailer are very expensive so I rely on accurate descriptions of your products.
