Today well be reviewing part number BD028384. This is the Bulldog Collar-Lok Coupler with High-Profile Latch. It is designed to fit a 2" ball and an A-frame trailer. It's going to be rated at 5,000 lbs. The heavy-duty coupler is ideal for utility, livestock, cargo and construction trailers. The collar-lok design offers automatic, continuously tight fit for absolute security. Here on this side you can see that there's a little separation here.

This is the actual hinged ball socket that makes hookup very simple. It's made from a high-strength steel so it's going to be very durable. Also here at the back we have the built-in jack-attachment point that allows for quick, easy mounting of a round utility jack. The diameter of that hole is going to measure 2-1/4". The bolt holes are going to measure 3/4" x 7/16"; and from the center of 1 hole to the center of the other, it's going to give us a measurement of 3" and that's going to be the same for each hole. This is designed to fit 50-degree A-frame trailer.

The overall length is going to give us a measurement of 16". The cool thing about having the hinge ball socket is that it's going to give you a visual indication of proper closure so it's going to provide an additional piece of mind. The high-profile latch is very simple to use. It also comes with the coupler pin, so if you just pull that out as I lift up the latch, you're going to see the collar slide back, which opens up the hinge portion here that's going to allow a 2" ball to fit right in there. With it open, the ball is going to fit right in there and then to secure the ball in place all you need to do is close the lever and the hinge ball socket is going to pinch the ball and provide a nice secure connection.

To close it, we just need to make sure that that collar lever is back in place and as we close the latch it's going to allow the collar to slide over that, which would secure the ball in place. Then all we need to do is secure it by reinstalling the pin through the coupler pin hole. That's going to do it for today's review of part number BD028384.
