Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

AJ What's up everybody. It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out this axle strap from Shock Strap. And what is going to be good for is when you're transporting your vehicle. I got mine loaded up on the trailer today to show you how to do it. We've got it tied down and there's not really good attachment points underneath my vehicle.
So we're going to use this, wrap it around the axle and use this as an attachment point. That way we can ratchet it down and get on the road. Let's check it out. This is what it looks like when you got it all set up. We're using our ratchet straps with the snap hooks on there.
So it's latched around these two ends and you see it wrapped around the axle and be careful not to wrap around any suspension. You see how it goes between the axle and that bar under there. That way you're not pulling tight onto anything that could be damaged. We're going on the opposite end of the pumpkin. And we're kinda going to go crisscross with this.
So I've already gotten this rachet strap ran over here. So we're going to go over the process of just throwing this over the axle. All right so we got the strap. We want the extra padded part on top of our axle. So I'm just gonna feed it around there make sure I pull it up and around the suspension bar, like I just told you, we'll bring these two ends together and then we'll attach our snap hook.
Just like that. Now with that attachment point made, I could start to ratchet this down. Got a nice hold on there. Don't have to worry about it going anywhere Taking a closer look at the strap. It's going to made out of a polyester webbing material. So, you know, it's going to hold up. It doesn't seem like you can just rip one section and it's ruined. You got double stitching here on the very high stress parts for where it's going to get that pulled on the most. So you see a bunch of extra stitching They're going to be the same thing on the other side. And our attachment points are going to have a yellow zinc chromate finish. So you don't have to worry about the elements bothering them. So if you leave it out in the rain, the hot and cold isn't going to rust or corrode. So they're going to hold up and you can use it for a very long time. The other thing to think about would be straps is going to be the safe working load limit is going to be 3,333 pounds. And it has a break strength of 10,000 pounds not to mention it's going to be two inches wide and then 30 inches long. Overall, thing's going to be a good thing to have, especially if you're transporting vehicles often on your flat bed. You're not going to always have that attachment point. I'd rather have this to wrap around those parts with that extra padding to know I'm not going to damage them underneath and it's going to be strapped really tied to a flat bed. Another thing I want to point out that I really liked about it is it's made in the U S so that's kind of rare now these days. So I know that's going to hold up. I have faith that it's going to work as long as I need it to. Thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..
