Specs:
The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.
Superior Construction
The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar. This anti-sway system attaches to the rear axle and to the chassis. It's gonna use the weight of the axle to brace the frame as it shifts and turns and that sort of thing. So it is going to help minimize your side to side movement for improved sense of overall stability. It's also gonna help diminish the effects of crosswinds, passing motorists, and shifting cargo.
It's going to allow you to execute your turns and quick maneuvers more confidently, and it will allow for a more level ride even on your irregular surfaces. This system is designed to fit the 2019 through 2022 International MV series trucks. It's also going to work with the NeXus motor homes that use the international chassis so the NeXus ghost and the Triumph as well as the Wraith there that you see on the screen. So this is going to work in conjunction with your vehicle's suspension system. It is engineered to avoid interference with most popular aftermarket add-ons and accessories as well.
It is made here in the USA of a one and three quarter inch thick, 4140 chromoly steel. So it is going to provide superior strength. They do use polyurethane bushings instead of the standard rubber variety, so it is going to be much longer lasting for you. The polyurethane is very durable and it resists damage caused by oil, gasoline, and ozone. And so having less wear is going to provide a system that is better supporting your shifting turns and all that to give you a more stability.
Now this does include heavy gauge mounting hardware as well as easy to follow instructions so you can get this installed properly. That also includes some bushing lubricant for you. This is also going to work with your front anti-sway bars. That is sold separately and it's gonna work for certain applications. So if you're wanting to get the absolute most out of your system, I would recommend going with a front anti-sway bar as well, as well as helper springs if you're wanting to have some support for your up and down motion and a steering stabilizer to help with your handling.
This is going to be capable of working with all those additional components if you're wanting to really soup up your ride, give you the most stability and comfort as you're going down the road. This does come with a limited lifetime warranty so if you we're to have any issues with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com. But I think this is gonna be a a great option for you to make sure that you're a lot more stable as you're taking those turns experiencing those crosswinds and that sort of thing. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

Minimize sway and driver fatigue by improving the stability and driveability of your vehicle. The bar on this sturdy, effective anti-sway system mounts to the rear axle and to the frame to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll.I have a 2017 Ford F350 Super Duty SRW, and we haul a heavy truck camper (Lance 1055.) I have Stable Load Uppers and HD airbags, but wanted to add a sway bar to add that extra layer of control, even though my truck has handled the camper well over the last 2 years and 10,000 miles. My truck did not come with an OEM sway bar installed, so I needed this kit that included the End Links too.
The Roadmaster Rear Sway Bar and End Links sold on etrailer are top quality products. They are robust and well made, with quality hardware to match. The product deserves a 5-star, and even unloaded, my truck handling improved right after installation, with improved cornering and no real impact on ride quality in my opinion. I have not yet loaded up our camper or towed our boat, but I have no doubt this sway bar will substantially reduce sway and will improve control and handling when the camper is loaded.
So why 4 stars and not 5?
1. I researched this product and the installation in detail. I planned on installing it myself and expected to find plenty of detail on etrailer's site, or Roadmaster's site, or the internet. My most pressing question was about where to mount the end links, and the orientation of the sway bar arms since I wouldn't be using the OEM end links. That information was no where to be found on the etrailer site, Roadmaster's site, or in any installation manuals. For a product and supplier that has likely sold lots of these to Ford Super Duty owners, I was surprised to find how little info was out there. The installation video on the etrailer site was helpful, but did not include any information for the end links, as they had a 2015 Super Duty and used the OEM end links already installed. I contacted etrailer and they told me to contact Roadmaster for more info on where to locate the end links with this kit.
2. I contacted Roadmaster. They told me they had no instructions and that despite my truck already having the cut-outs for the OEM bracket that attaches the OEM end links to the frame, that none of those holes may work for me. So they suggested I connect the sway bar brackets to the axle first and then see where the arms would line up with the end links. The tech also suggested that it wasn't critical that the end links were perpendicular
to the frame, but that I should try install the end links to allow the arm of the sway bar to hand as close to parallel as possible. No bueno. When I installed this the 14" end links (center hole to center hole) didn't allow for the arms to hang parallel to the frame. And I don't think it matters as the orientation of my sway bar and the arms looks about like every video or picture I could find on the internet of this year/model truck and this sway bar kit. It seems to function fine.
3. Installing it was a bear, especially the way they instructed me to. And I had to make some modifications to fit my truck, as the sway bar arms were rubbing up against my airbag mounting brackets. I got it installed, but the thin instructions turned what should have been a 60 minute job into 2 1/2 hours. A bit frustrating.
All in all, this will do the job intended and will provide me with peace of mind next time we load our camper. I am a bit frustrated that there were zero installation instructions specific to my year/make/model of truck given it did not have an OEM sway bar and the end links had to be installed with a bit of guesswork. You will also note in my pictures that I had to mount the end links to the sway bar arms differently on each side to make the bar fit around my air bag mounts.
This product arrived on time, and is as described in company literature. I have installed the sway bars and the sumo springs on my 2019 Ford E3 26 foot Thor motorhome. Installation is fairly straightforward. Having said that, I am a retired farmer and I am quite familiar with this type of work. Having the proper tools makes the job go much quicker and easier. Installation of the front sway bar took a little under an hour. The rear sway bar is a bit more complicated to install, but he can be easily accomplished by someone of average mechanical skills, equipped with the proper tools. I strongly recommend removing the rear wheels to facilitate installation of the springs and the sway bar. I have not driven my motorhome yet, but will be taking an extended trip in March. I am looking forward to an improved ride.
Fairly easy install. Drilling the hole in the frame was decent started with a 17/64 pilot hole then the 17/32 final hole. Take your time and let the drill do the work.
Do be aware of the hole placement on the drivers side as there are brake lines and wiring there.
All the contents were delivered in the package. The kit fit perfectly as designed. Ordered for a Ford F-350 Super Duty. Truck handles great!
Received the product in a timely manner. The shipping company used I’d give a no star rating. I received the anti-sway bar bare out of a box or wrapper with the installation part box and a cut out piece of cardboard with the shipping label on it taped to the bare bar with about five yards of packing tape. The bar was scuffed, scratched and chipped with the RoadMaster label destroyed. I realize it’s going to be installed under the front of my motorhome but as much as it costed I would like to be the one to scratch and scuff it. If I was a company installing this on a customers vehicle I’d return it. I do not believe it was shipped from etrailer in this condition.
We upgraded our front sway bar on our 2005 Jayco Granite Ridge on the Ford E450 chassis a year ago prior to starting a 17,000 mile trip around the country. It was a game changer for, improving handling and stability significantly (along with proper tire inflation). The installation video is very misleading regarding the ease of installation, showing only the attachment on the right side. The left side is much more difficult requiring wedging the stabilizer tab between the suspension and stabilizer plate. Just be ready for that, it is more involved than the right side.
With about 600 miles pulling the RV, we are mildly impressed with how well our three-quarter ton tracks down the highway while pulling the RV. Well worth the upgrade.
However, etrailer needs a video on adding the hangers. There are no instructions that come with the kit that cover the hangers. The hangers have different size bolts, the shorter ones fit inside the frame.
Was told from etrailer that this was going to be a quick plug and play but no this was to be installed on a class c ( no drilling) but no , ustraps had to be adjusted did not fit and struts would not reach had to drill chasis
Replaced the sway bar on my 1996 Fleetwood Flair. Easy bolt on installation. Have issues with the front-end swaying and bouncing around in cross wind and when approaching a slower moving truck. The new sway bar helped some but not as well as it was claimed.
Dit this job my self , no lift , on the floor on my back and got it installed. Front and rear anti sway bars and 4 new bilstein shocks and yes u need the 8 swivel head socket/wrench tool from harbor freight to do driver side. The rest of the instalation whent well, the onley consern is the front bracket sadle and bushing sits nearly on the bend of the sway bar ( see photo )
This upgraded rear sway bar positively changed the drivability of my Class C RV to where I'm no longer fighting to keep it between the lines of the road - period!! I upgraded the front and the same time.
The installation was a little harder than I thought it would be, however, in the end it was worth it! I took a lot of photos, so hopefully it will tell my story.
I wasn't expecting to have to drill out existing threaded holes in the factory mounting location, as you'll see in the photos. However once completed, drilling through the rear frame section was a breeze. By the way, do yourself a favor and buy a new 1/2 drill bit before attempting this installation.
I did need a second hand with installing the frame connector bolt, as it was difficult to hold the sway bar with one hand and install the bolt with the other. It's a tight fit where the stabilizer bar link fit between the frame and leaf spring. And by the way, watch yourself on any exhaust hanger bolt! I bumped into it more times than I want to remember, so just be careful.
Bottom line: the manufacture of this 2013 Chevrolet 4500 series had no idea this was going to be turned into a 31' RV; therefore, it was necessary to upgrade the sway bars.
As I previously stated, it makes it pleasure to drive, and when I arrive at my destination I'm a much happier camper!
If you're thinking about upgrading this part of your suspension, don't just sit there, just do it! You'll thank yourself in the end!
Solid-built sway bar. Helps stabilize in wind while driving. Using on 2016 Thor Vegas 25.3 RV, notorious for suspension and driving issues. Using front anti-sway bar as well with Safe-T-Plus steering stabilizer.
Very straight forward remove and replace operation/installation. One person can do this laying on their back in a driveway. I'm very pleased with the drivability since the installation. The number one reason is - reduced driver fatigue!! And that's with 2 exclamation points!! Prior to this, I replaced the original shocks with a set from Koni, and upgraded Sumo Springs. To include, a steering stabilizer from Safe-T-Plus. One would think it would steer itself; at this point. All-in-all, I'm happy with this suspension upgrade.
OH My! If you are thinking about getting one for your P32 wide body. Please don’t hesitate. It REALLY Works. Take the white knuckle effect out of driving. EASY installation! Easy Ordering from etrailer. Roger helped me get through the buying process and shipped to my house in 2 days! Thank You!!
First, Eric was a great help throughout the purchasing and installation. I watched the tutorial numerous times and set up my tools. I bought a 3/4 inch torque wrench at Harbor Freight and a 4 ft galvanized pipe at Home Depot. I followed the instructions and the tutorial to the letter. The bar and mounting plates are heavy, so be very careful. This job isn't for a beginner, but if you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you can install it. The 300 Ft. Lbs torque of the 8 nuts took everything out of me. LOL...I adjusted the end links twice, and it leveled out great. Now, I will do a test run and see how it improves the handling of my motorhome. Its a 2022 Entegra Vision 29S.
This is night and day! We have a 2019 Newmar Bay Star Sport 2813, and we already had the supplemental rear bar, Safe-t-Steer and Koni Shocks. Nothing made the difference that this did! With the new sway bar our coach doesn't sway going down the road, and is at least 75% better on corners. Going out a driveway doesn't have the crazy see-sawing it had before!
My wife now likes riding in our motorhome, versus screaming about every corner before.
I'm sure all of you running the Ford F-53 chassis will have the same level of improvement!
I watched your video on the installation of the rear sway bar which I found to be helpful. I used an adjustable strap to level the sway bar before aligning and drilling for the links. Looking forward to a road test soon. Thank You
Very heavy duty sway bar. Using it on a 2016 Thor Vegas 25.3 RV. Much thicker than original and still holding up fine. Helps to stabilize in high winds and passing trucks. Also added the Safe-T-Plus stabilizer to keep wheels from wandering.
I am happy to finally have the rear anti-sway bar installed. Noticed the difference right away. I will order the front anti-sway bar soon. I have the skills to install the anti-sway bar, but did not have the heavy tools to do the job. Paided a local shop 2hrs labour, well worth it.
This sway bar is the real deal. Easy to follow instructions but I had it installed because I'm lazy. It took one hour labor
Worth every penny in handling and stability performance gained on Entegra Odyssey 24B (was not standard on 2021 model) Performance was gained along with Roadmaster Front Anti-sway bar and, not rear alone. Also added Roadmaster steering stabilizer at same time.
Haven't opened the stabilizer bars but I did open the Sumo Springs and the Snap Pads. All seemed to be there in good condition.
Helped with sway but not with wandering steering.
The anti sway bar helped a lot, but my Fleetwood could use a little more help. Probably needs the front end too. I installed the model made for coaches a year or two newer and it went on much easier than the unit requiring frame drilling and coil spring recounting. I ordered both to cover myself, didn't open the kit for older chassis and sent it back - for full credit, except for shipping, which is fair. Trailer met each promise - product, dates, and return of the unused unit. 5 stars for service 3 stars for eliminating the sway. ETrailer provided EXCELLENT videos for installation, and did everything they said they would! My wife is happy and I'm her hero. That's always worth 5 stars!
The bar fit nicely. The brake proportioning valve bracket had to be modified and the hole elongated. The performance with the camper on is night and day difference on my 1998 2500 Ram.
