Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars - RM-RBK14-RSSA

  • Steering Stabilizer
  • Roadmaster
  • Includes Mounting Hardware

The sturdy steel spring on this stabilizer keeps your vehicle in line by constantly working to maintain its position. Mount it between the steering mechanism and the chassis for a tight connection that will minimize wander and correct oversteering.

Features:

  • Compensates for oversteering and returns your vehicle to center
    • Tempered steel spring works to return to its normal state - when compressed, spring pushes back into neutral position; when extended, it pulls back
  • Attaches to the steering mechanism on one end and to the chassis undercarriage on the other
    • Tight connection between these components keeps steering firm and controlled
  • Helps you to maintain control of your vehicle in the event of crosswinds, rut tracking, road edging or a tire blowout
  • Reduces road fatigue - stabilizer keeps you centered so that you don't have to work as hard to steer
  • Installs in approximately 1 hour with no drilling or welding
  • Includes stabilizer, custom mounting brackets, hardware and installation instructions
  • Made in USA
  • Limited lifetime warranty

A variety of things can make your vehicle veer - crosswinds, uneven pavement, tire blowout. The key to a pleasant, and safe, driving experience is learning how to deal with these situations. Roadmaster's Reflex Steering Stabilizer works to return your vehicle to center when something happens that causes it to swerve or jolt. As a result, you won't have to oversteer in an attempt to stay in line, thus minimizing road fatigue.

The stabilizer attaches to your vehicle's tie rod on one end and to the frame on the other. A heavy-duty steel spring runs the length of the rod, constantly working to keep steering controlled. If you steer your vehicle one way and it gets pulled the opposite way, the spring will stretch momentarily and then quickly pull back to its normal state. If you oversteer your vehicle in the same direction it is already moving, the spring will compress for a moment but then push back out to its prior state. No matter how you steer or how the frame is pushed or pulled, your vehicle will always return to center.

I bought this stabilizer for a 99 class A Motorhome. The steering stabilizer kit came quickly and complete. Instructions are easy to follow. The whole install took about 40 mins. Just a couple adjustments to center the steering up. I initially bought the stabilizer because in strong crosswinds the motorhome was hard to maintain lane control. The stabilizer has improved handling. You must also insure that other steering components are not worn. I recommend the Roadmaster Steering Stabilizer for older Motorhomes.

So far so good; after installation of the stabilizer the rv steering straight as expected. I have not going the highway yet but... locally; the rig is doing well... and doing very well sitting at the drive way looking pretty!... i have to revisit this review for the final test of 1000 miles.

etrailer's staff is very helpful in communication and responsive through email support. I rather pay little more for the product with the proper guidance and advice from etraile'r staff. I included a few pictures after i installed the stabilizer at night.

On the installation; the instructions doesn’t instruct you to put red lock tight on the nuts; but i put the lock tight on there anyway to reinsure the nut doesn’t come off due to vibration since the bolt and nut holding the bracket barely shows any treads after torque.

Well there's good and less good.
The
less good is 1yr ago you knew the part # this year you didn't and I had to call mfg to verify. The good is you were pleasant to work with. Shipped the same day and sent me tracking information. Warranty work on my past purchase (Air Force One) braking system problem was not resolved.

A very solid and well-built product. Installed without difficulty on my 1997 HR Endeavor but could use better pictures in the installation manual. You will need a 1 1/8" combination wrench, a 1 1/8" socket, and a torque wrench. To achieve a parallel position, the driver end of the shock should be installed below the bracket and the passenger end of the shock should be installed above the clamp/bracket. The enclosed pictures indicate a parallel install with adequate clearance to all components.

Great quality Roadmaster steering stabilizer for my Freightliner chassis motorhome at good price. Installed quite easily. The mounting brackets instructions for installation were confusing it said install plate on top of tie rod but the drawing on the instructions showed it on the bottom of the tie rod. And there was a photo of it on the top.

I installed the Roadmaster Reflex Steering stabilizer on our 05 Freightliner. I only wish I would have done it sooner. Much better control going down the highway. There is no sway and I feel less fatigue while driving. Great product and I would highly recommend it.

once again etrailer came through with an excellent fitting product! the road master reflex steering stabilizer arrived on time and took about a hour to install. installed on a 2000 Holiday Rambler Endeaver took it for a test drive and it beat expectations on stabilizing the steering! It removed all the swaying /jerking due to grooved or uneven roads, also way more stable in a cross wind. Way happy with this product and would definitely would by this product again... I have ordered from etrailer before and the service has always been great! Thanks to Amy the sales person I talked with I was able to get the order right the first time and in the time frame I need it...

Thanks

This product reduced our RV crosswind component and almost eliminated wind effects passing large vehicles and their push/pull effects on the interstate. I highly recommend it. The only product modification I might recommend is shortening the length of the U bolts so the tails don't hit the ball joints when the airbags are deflated and you make a steering change.

We have a low milage 97 discovery. Driving was really starting to be a chore. Tried different tires, alignment, tire pressure. Nothing worked.was searching on line and came up on your product. We were seriously considering selling the motorhome until we installed the stabilizer.thanks so much for a great product it has helped tremendously. Passing big rigs, crosswinds or just normal driving. I highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling to enjoy driving their coach.

by:

I installed this steering stabilizer on our 1999 Fleetwood Discovery and it improved the steering greatly, reducing the steering wander almost entirely, the installation was easy and took about an hour and a half.
Fine product
Thanks for your great service

First of all etrailer had the product I wanted and needed. It was fairly straight forward as a DIY project for my class A motorhome. Shipping was reAsonable also. I could tell the difference right away and now after a year it is still performing well. After a year I feel this is a necessary up grade and I feel safer with it.

Installed on my 2014 Thor Class C coach. Was trying to cut the side to side sway
during semi truck passing and changing road elevations. This stabilizer worked great!
It even tightened up my overall steering. Thanks Etrailer.

by:

Big difference in the stability while driving. I would highly recommend buying and installing this on your motorhome. You will not be sorry.
The E-Trailer online purchase experience was Trouble free and very easy.
I’ll be looking to purchase the rear axle stabilizer next.

First, I did have to grind off corner of the plate that mounts under leaf spring bolts. It would not lay flush so I tapered one of the edges where it met the axel a little bit till it laid flush. I did buy a 3/4 inch wrench set but with an rv, it's good to have and will possible allow me to get the 22.5 inch wheels off in an emergency. This with a good solid 3' pipe and I was able to fairly easily break the leaf spring bolts free. I used boards to ensure the fronts tires were fairly straight, laying them alongside the tires and eyeballing to see where they lined up with the back tires which are about 4 inches wider than the front outside width. I mounted the steering stabilizer and took it for a test drive and it was good the first time, no additional adjustments needed. Feels good on the road, good around turns, and even at low speeds around the driveway, I did not notice any extra effort to turn the wheel due to the heavy spring on the stabalizer. Put about 75 miles on it and it feels solid and stable though no high winds or passing semi trucks yet. But my 2007 ford f53 22000 lb chassis under a holiday rambler admiral body has always felt pretty good. Just trying to make better, next up is the new koni evo fsd heavy duty shocks coming today.

by:

No issues. Significantly helps steering.

I did the drive to find center on steering wheel which made installation easier. Removing existing steering stabilizer and brackets and installing the new wasn’t difficult at all with just basic tools. Read instructions and watch video at etrailer site. The reflex steering stabilizer is worth the money but should be the last modification done in my opinion. The first thing to install to help the swaying, leaning or just being pushed around by the semi trucks is #1 Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar if the manufacturer left the original small one on. #2 Roadmaster front anti-sway bar. Then #3 Roadmaster Reflex steering stabilizer. I say Roadmaster because the bushings and linkage for all of these are very heavy duty compared to the others that I compared. After doing all three of these upgrades to my 2022 E-450 33 foot class C the driving has gone from seriously gripping the steering wheel to driving relaxed with one hand in high wind or the passing of big rigs and ruff dipping road surfaces. I did this upgrades one at a time in the order I’ve indicated so I actually got to feel how each item help to control my motorhome. I am very pleased with all. Thanks etrailer for the excellent service.

Quality built steering stabilzer. Well packaged and arrived within my expected time frame.

by:

2007 Fleetwood Bounder 35E F53 chassis. What a world of difference driving. No more white knuckle, butt cheeks crunched, wife holding on for dear life driving. It's does what it says. The install was a breeze. I recommend this to any one with a Class A.

by:
