Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

  • Rear Anti-Sway Bar for 2011 Georgetown 360 Motorhome on a Ford F-53 V10 Chassis and 22K GVWR
The correct rear anti-sway bar for the 2011 Ford F-53 motorhome chassis V10 rated for 22,000 pounds is # RM-1139-149. Check to ensure there is enough factory u-bolt available to accommodate the factory nut, washer and 1/2" plate. If the u-bolts are not long enough, the # RM-590050-00 u-bolt replacement kit is needed; sold separately. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. Rear anti-sway bar # 1139-144 only fits up to the 2005 Ford F-53 chassis.

  • Rear Sway Bar Recommendation for 2018 Jayco Alante built on Ford F-53 Chassis 18,000 GVWR
Yes, a rear sway bar is exactly what I recommend for your 2018 Jayco Alante that is built on a Ford F-53 chassis. This will make the biggest improvement in overall ride quality but also will get rid of the feeling of being pushed around by wind gusts. Since the GVWR of your Alante is 18,000 lbs the correct sway bar you need is # RM-1139-146 which I attached an install video for as well.

I did some checking and the 2018.5 Fleetwood New Bounder 34S is built on the Ford F-53 chassis and is rated for 26,000 pounds. For a front anti-sway bar you will need # RM-1139-148. For a rear anti-sway bar you will need # RM-1139-149. And for a steering stabilizer you will need # RM-RBK25-RSSA.

  • Recommended Steering Stabilizer And Anti-Sway Bars For A 2013 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome
The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar Item # 1139-144 is not a confirmed fit for your vehicle. Since you have a 2013 Bounder your chassis is actually a 2012. The correct fitting anti-sway bars for your motorhome are the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-149 and the Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar Item # RM-1139-148. Adding these will help minimize body roll when cornering. Adding a Roadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer with Mounting Brackets for Class A Motor Homes Item # RM-RBK22-RSSA...

  • Rear Sway Bar for Thor Motorhome Based on Ford F-53 Chassis
According to the Thor motor coach website their Class A motor homes, such as their Tuscany, are diesel pushers that are based on a Freightliner XC-R chassis with a Cummins ISL engine. Their Class C motorhomes use a Ford or Chevy chassis. If your coach is indeed based on a Ford F-53 chassis then the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # 1139-144 is the correct part. This 1-3/4-inch sway bar kit includes all installation hardware, brackets and bushings. This kit will reduce body roll and balance...

  • Anti-Sway Bars and Steering Stabilizer for a Motorhome Built on a 1997 Ford F-53 Chassis
If you are having a hard time keep the steering wheel centered while driving the RV then a steering stabilizer is the way to go. If the RV is getting pushed around by wind then an anti-sway bar would be the way to go. If you want the driving experience to be as rock solid as possible then a front and rear anti-sway bar and steering stabilizer is the way to go! For the 1997 Ford F-53 chassis you can add a steering stabilizer but only if it has the V8 motor. It is # RM-RBK4-RSSA. You can...

The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # 1139-144 that you referenced is a 1-3/4 inch thick anti-sway bar. I confirmed this with Roadmaster. To determine if you will need the u-bolt kit # RM-590050-00 you will need to check out the current u-bolts your rear suspension is using. Basically if the u-bolt has enough threads above the nut to accommodate an additional 1/2 inch thick plate being attached to it you would not need the kit. If there's not enough threads on the u-bolt to accommodate an...

Your 1997 Thor Residency chassis is the F-53. The F-450 chassis is found on the Class C Motorhomes but the coaches are the F-53 chassis even with the smaller wheels tucked further under as you stated. I recommend you start with the rear sway bar then the front sway and then the steering stabilizer in order of importance for the most help. • Front and Rear Sway Bar Recommendation for a 2015 GeorgetownXL 377 on a 2014 Ford F53
We get similar questions pretty frequently and we have found that first going with a rear sway bar upgrade will give you the best improvement and then next you would want to upgrade the front sway bar for further improvement. So for a rear sway bar you would want the part # 1139-144 since your coach is 37 feet long. If you still need more then you would want the front part # RM-1139-148 as well.

For that you would want the part # 1139-144. Next you would want to go with a front sway bar as that will make the next biggest improvement. For that you would want part # RM-1139-148. Between those two things and your Tiger Trac your ride quality should be very nice.

  • Best Way to Improve Stability When Driving 2001 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome on Ford Chassis
Your concern about the stability and drivability of your 2001 Fleetwood Bounder motorhome is definitely understandable, as these rigs can be a chore to handle at times even when not towing a dinghy so I definitely recommend adding parts to help reduce the sway and stabilize your motorhome, and changing your shocks certainly won't hurt either. This retains the factory sway bar. The factory u-bolt may not be long enough for the factory nut, washer and 1/2" plate. As to drilling the holes for the shackle bracket, I don't really have a way to make that easier, unfortunately.
