Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its front axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

I installed both front and rear Road Master anti sway bars on our last RV and they made a tremendous improvement in handling. It was easy for me to install by myself in my driveway on out Coachman Leprechaun 319MB. I highly recommend this product.

2015 Ford E-Series Cutaway

Significant difference when making turns and going around curves. These twin I beam suspension have a tendency to follow uneven road surfaces, this pretty much eliminated a lot of that. Installed it myself with the Roadmaster end links and the only complaint I have is I had to enlarge bolt hole for the end link bolt, other than that, well satisfied. I also installed the rear sway bar at same time, highly recommend replacing the front and rear sway bars together.

Completely satisfied, made a lot of difference in handling.

2012 Ford Van

I purchased a Roadmaster antisway bar to replace the stock bar on my 2012 Pleasureway Excel Motorhome which is on a Ford E350 chassis. I did the install myself and instructions were very clear and was not too difficult to do. Handling is much improved, I have noticed less body roll when turning or going over bumps. I have included photos to show the difference between the stock bar diameter and the beefier Roadmaster bar.

etrailer shipped promptly and customer service was great.

The roadmaster antisway bar is still working great! As a side note, I also had installed professionally the Roadmaster Active Suspension. Between these two products, my motorhome now drives like it’s on rails. Anyone with the same Pleasure Way model should seriously consider both of these products.

Big difference from the stock sway bar. Helped greatly, but more is needed than just the sway bar. I installed a saf-t-steer, as well as sway and track bars in the rear. I've got the shocks left to do. I can now drive easily without fighting the rig in all conditions. Mine is a 31' class C.

2018 Thor Freedom Elite Motorhome

The installation of the Roadmaster anti-swaybar (1139-176) along with the Roadmaster end links (RO57FR) was and easy installation. The videos that are provided by etrailer were very helpful. I noticed huge difference in the way the motor home handles on just the test drive. I am excited to see how it performs on the highway.

Super nice people to work with. Was on the road and had it shipped to repair facilty within 48 hrs. Sway bar is just what i needed for those west winds. No more being pushed aside by the big rigs( at least alot less). Thx again

2022 Ford E-Series Cutaway

you have only listed the front bar i have both on my class c motorhome. They are great together, you need both front and rear bars to make the difference. no more white knuckles when semis pass. You will still get pushed a little by the big rigs, but not as much as if you had the stock bars. wind doesn't bother you as much either. Great products would recommend getting both for your rv

Roadmaster

Factory installed sway bars were installed when we first purchased our 2018 Four Winds 32’ Class C. It didn’t take long before we noticed this thing was hard to control in strong winds and uneven road surfaces. My hands would get tired from gripping and fighting the steering wheel. I purchased the correct Roadmaster front and rear sway bars and noticed an immediate improvement to handling and and stability. A great relief for me, but also for my wife, who although sits in the passenger seat, critiqued me on the rough ride and my driving ability. Best investment I’ve made so far!

by:
2017 Ford E-Series Cutaway

The install was very easy. Followed the steps in the video and except for needing an 18mm wrench not a 17mm.
The difference in handling is very noticeable as the wife comment on it as we took a test right after installing it, the wind was 20 to gusts of 30 mph.
In a direct crosswind a lot less steering input required and when meeting vehicles no noticeable push anymore. We only went 25 miles so will do a longer test another day.
The fit was exceptional and fairly easy to install.

It is working great. Front end sway is almost non existent. Great improvement in the handling in side winds.

by:

Helped with sway but not wandering stee ring.

by:

Your installation video was helpful. The front bolts on the the hangers required heating to break them loose. The factory was generous with blue lock tite. I might add the front bolts require a 18mm socket. Looking forward for a road test. Thank You always

2016 Thor Four Winds Motorhome

Definitely beefier and will make a positive difference in controlling sway induced by wind and big rigs.
However, the end holes need to be 1/32 to 1/16 inch larger to accomodate sway bar links. I had to drill them out to ~7/16".

by:

WOW!!! The team of employees in etrailers Customer Service Department is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL!! I had an issue with the sway bar I purchased and the warranty and exchange period had long expired, but etrailer stood by their product and replaced it. I cannot say enough about how their Customer Service Team. They replied to every email I sent and within a timeline that I was not expecting!

2017 Winnebago Aspect Motorhome

After being blown all over the highway on a windy day in my 2012 Winnebago Class-C, I decided to purchase Roadmaster Anti-Sway bars and steering stabilizer. The sway bars and stabilizer were a perfect fit for the 2011 Ford E-450 chassis. After having the parts installed, I immediately felt a remarkable difference in the way my 30' RV handled. I can now drive down the highway without a fear of being sucked into big rigs or being pushed into the next lane under windy conditions. Well worth the money!

2015 Ford E-Series Cutaway

I purchased and installed both the front and rear Roadmaster anti-sway bars for our class C motorhome. It didn't solve all of our issues but it was a huge step in the right direction. Coupled with a larger steering stabilizer, Bilstein shock absorbers & rear helper air springs, the ride has improved by leaps and bounds. We feel much safer driving down the road in the high winds. Roadmaster makes a great product and install was a breeze. I would recommend their products to anyone.

My RV handles so much better now!!

This product arrived on time, and is as described in company literature. I have installed the sway bars and the sumo springs on my 2019 Ford E3 26 foot Thor motorhome. Installation is fairly straightforward. Having said that, I am a retired farmer and I am quite familiar with this type of work. Having the proper tools makes the job go much quicker and easier. Installation of the front sway bar took a little under an hour. The rear sway bar is a bit more complicated to install, but he can be easily accomplished by someone of average mechanical skills, equipped with the proper tools. I strongly recommend removing the rear wheels to facilitate installation of the springs and the sway bar. I have not driven my motorhome yet, but will be taking an extended trip in March. I am looking forward to an improved ride.

by:

I drove 750 miles with the rear sway bar in sumo Springs what a difference now I’m in New York put the front sway bar and let you know when I get back south

by:

Received my 2019 E450 front Roadmaster sway bar yesterday and installed it today.
Easy install, Instructions sheets was easy to understand. Did a test drive for 10 miles, Boy what a difference. Feels great , nice and tight , now have front and rear sway bars from Etrailer as well as steering stabilizer . makes my Class C handle much easier going down the road. These sway bars are much thicker than the ford standard bars. Etrailer has great videos to show all installs. Thanks Etrailer for all the info.

Free from the roller-coaster ride my 2022 thor motorhome had with the factory bars.I have questions about why these companies don't install the suspension while building the rv.

by:

Have used this product on a previously owned class C RV. It performed very well.
Side to side sway of the motor home was greatly minimized. Crosswinds and wind pressure from semi traffic had much less impact on the handling of the RV.

by:

Had this installed on my 2022 Class C and it made a world of difference. Tractor trailers zooming by me is no longer an issue as I can keep a steady, straight ride going. Same thing going over bumpy roads. Very little side to side swaying or rocking. I’m extremely satisfied with this product as it’s made rv travel much more enjoyable!

by:

Fast delivery. Good instructions, good phone support.
Easy installation with wheels on the ground. Basic tools required.

2018 Ford E-Series Cutaway

The last thing to upgrade my front suspension on my 2018 Winnebago Aspect 27k. Money well spent! Easy installation, the ride greatly improved. Etrailer shipped this fast and I'm very pleased. Thanks.
