Hello neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at a replacement SKS lock core or same key system for the Yakima racks and carriers. Now folks, this does replace or add one, quantity one, key to number A154. You can see it engraved there in the metal. This is one lock core for your same key system, and it does allow your Yakima products to be keyed alike if you match it up with your other lock cores. Now, you do need what's called a control key for the Yakima same key system to insert this into your rack or carrier.
And the control key pretty much looks like a blank key. It is not, I repeat, not a master key. It is simply a tool that just slides into the end of the core. You put it in, and then you could rotate it, and pretty much lock it in place as far as where it needs to be into that rack or carrier. And then you'd be able to lock or unlock the key core with the actual key, which is also sold separately.
