Hey there, it's Evangeline right here at E-Trailer. Today I have the replacement hardware bag for your Yakima EXO Gear Warrior cargo carrier. Now this is gonna be what secures your basket to the cleat system of your Yakima EXO system. If you needed to replace parts or maybe you we inchesre converting your Skinny Warrior into a Gear Warrior for your EXO base, this is gonna be among the parts that you may need. On your Gear Warrior basket, the way it works is that the cleats fit into the base of your EXO system, and then what's holding the basket to that cleat system are these brackets. So you're gonna have two brackets and four bolts that secure to each cleat.
That's gonna be the same number of brackets and bolts that are going to arrive with your hardware bag. If you need more, let's say you need to fix up the entire system, just go ahead and grab two of these sets. If you also need to replace the cleats, then you can find that replacement part right here at E-Trailer as well. And if you need any help with figuring out what you may actually need replacing and how to find it, well, feel free to give us a call or even leave a comment right here on this video. I'd love to help you get sorted out so that you can get your EXO system back onto the road.
To get this all replaced, what you first need to do is get your basket. If you are converting from the Skinny Warrior, just go ahead and remove the clamps that are on your basket. If you are replacing the old hardware on your Gear Warrior, well, get that all taken out as well. You're then going to get the cleat, and what I actually do is, I fit the cleat underneath the basket into the EXO system. I've also found it easiest to just go ahead and tighten down that cleat so it's not moving around.
That helps 'cause now all you need to do is worry about getting the basket lined up. So go ahead, grab those brackets, and line up the bracket with the bolt holes. You're then going to tighten down your bolts with a five millimeter Allen key. This is actually included with your EXO system 'cause it was one of the things needed to put everything together, but if you did lose that tool, it's gonna be five millimeters that you can grab from your tool bench. While this process is super straightforward, oftentimes what people find is that when they are fixing a broken bracket or bolt, they also need to replace the cleats underneath just because those cleats have the threads and sometimes those threads can get cross-threaded or broken from just improper installation.
So just double check yours and if you need to get the whole system, it's good to know that these are direct replacement parts for the Gear Warrior. And once you have the right things, super easy to replace and install. And hopefully this video just pointed you towards that direction.
