Today we're going to take a look at the replacement wheel tray for Yakima bike racks. Now this is going to replace that rear wheel tray for your Yakima bike racks. This is going to fit a couple different racks. It's going to fit the Yakima HoldUp EVO. The part numbers for that are going to be Y02480 for the 1 1/4" hitch version, and then for 2" hitch versions, those are going to be part numbers Y02479, Y02479-2, or Y02482, and this can also be used for the Yakima Single Speed bike rack. That part number is Y02481.And again, this is for the rear tray.
It's better if you use this on the left-hand side, so that the buckle is facing towards you, but you can use it for the other side as well. Just keep in mind that the attachment for our strap will be away from you, so it might make it a little bit more difficult to get that strap installed.It does have all the same features as our original cradle. We'll have our strap there to secure our rear wheel down. It also pivots to allow for different wheel bases and things like that. As far as the attachment, we'll have our new bolt and two new washers, as well as a new lock nut that would go ...
Our wheel cradle is going to go into the bike rack, and then be secured with our bolt and washers and nut.It comes with a new Allen key, or hex key, to get that installed. You will have to use your own wrench or socket to get the nut side tightened down. So you'll use Allen key on one side with the head of the bolt, the nut, again, you'll need a socket or wrench, or whatever you have.If you do need the front portion for your single speed carrier, that can be picked up here at etrailer.com. That part numbers going to be 8880840. And that's going to do it for our look at the Yakima replacement wheel cradle for Yakima bike carriers..

Includes everything needed to replace the wheel cup assembly.Excellent replacement wheel cup for the Yakima EXO double up rack. The only problem is that the bolts supplied are too short. I was able to use the original longer bolts, however, so no worries.
These fit perfectly
I used the EVO wheelcups for the rear tires to extend the wheelbase length on my brand new Yakima HoldUp (non-evo). i swapped out the rear wheelcups to extend the wheelbase length by 6"-8". The HoldUp is an older design that fits shorter length bikes. It will hold a new longer 29-er, but its scary with the rear tire hanging off the end of the standard wheelcup.
By marking and drilling (4) holes in the HoldUp trays (using the EVO wheelcups as a guide) I was able to keep from buying the whole bike-tray set-up of the EVO system. This saved approx. $xxx for a 2-bike set-up.
So if you have the skills and want to convert your HoldUp to a cheaper version of a HoldUp EVO, then just replace the rear wheelcups.

easy drop in replacement for busted end piece.
It fit perfectly on my Yakima holdup Evo 2. I found a brand new Yakima holdup Evo 2 at a thrift store for $50.00 keys and all, however one of the tray straps/fastener was broken.
I did some research and found this replacement on etrailer it did the job. One year later it's still holding up strong.
The customer service I received from etrailer was excellent!! They kept me advised of my ordered parts status right to the end!!
