Today, we're going to take a quick look at the replacement tongue for Yakima HoldUp EVO bike racks. Now if yours got damaged somewhere along the way and you need a new one but you don't want to have to replace your entire bike rack, this is going to be a much more economical and easier way to do that. It's going to have our shank with the attached anti-rattle device. That's that little wedge that pushes up against your hitch receiver to keep everything nice and snug. On the other side we'll have our handle to adjust that. It does have a place to put in the lock core and it comes with the SKS control key so you can pop that into your old lock, turn it, take it out, and put it into your new shank system.Also, has that little dust cover that comes over to protect your key.
Then we'll have the portion of our shank that will actually attach the platform too. Now this doesn't come with the hardware to attach this to the platform so you will need to reuse the old hardware there, but we will have our hitch pin goes in, secures it in place, got the little inaudible 00:01:07 that's cabled on there so we won't lose it. And again, this is going to be a direct replacement from Yakima for the HoldUp EVO bike carrier for 2-inch hitches. Those part numbers are going to be Y02479, Y02479-2, or Y02480.Now if you need another replacement part for the HoldUp EVO bike carrier, we do have the replacement spine assembly as well. That part number is going to be 8880824.

Replaces the tongue on your Yakima HoldUp EVO bike carrier for 2" hitches (Y02479, Y02479-2, or Y02480).Found it necessary to remove the bike trays to properly align the the holes through which the bolt must pass to fix the rack to the tongue assembly. Like that the 2 inch tongue provides more solid support than the 1.25 inch unit we used on previous vehicle.
Perfect.!!! Had the part installed in 15 mins. One bolt and the SKS key included made the switch of lock very easy. Very simple upgrade from 1.25" to 2" receiver.
First tine ordering. Needed replacement part for my Yakima bike rack. Excellent communication on order status. Quick shipping.
