Hi everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look at and showing you how to replace this plastic cover for the pivot area on your Yakima full tilt or Ridgeback bike racks. We've got the full tilt with us here today and nothing necessarily wrong with this but we're gonna walk you through that process of replacing these. Let's check it out. Now, depending on if yours broken, you might not have to do this part of actually getting it removed, but if you do, it comes with the tool to get these screws in each of these holes taken out. So we'll do that for our old one.
Now, something that can help with getting those screws out or putting them back in is actually magnetizing the tip of that tool. It doesn't come like that, but you can easily run it through a magnetizer like this. Or if you've just got any magnet at home, just run this over it, and that'll help you get those screws in and out, so you don't have to just kind of blindly guess as you go into some of these deeper pockets. From here, it's just a matter of pulling the two halves apart, and getting it removed from the bike rack. And the two new halves will take its place.
I'm gonna put the bottom half in first, and if you need to actually fold the rack upright it might be easier to get it aligned. Definitely is, and slot that other one in to meet it. These holes will align with these ones and these tabs will align with the other half. So if you're running into some issues with the clearance here, just pull the cable lock up a bit because that does house inside the mast. So I'm just gonna tuck that up out of the way so it doesn't come back and hit our vehicle.
And that's gonna clear up some room to get us to snap this in place all around. And then we can resecure it with the new provided screws. And with that last screw tightened down, the cover is replaced. It was a pretty easy process overall. It's gonna keep the bike rack looking nice and keep those internals a bit more protected.
Thanks for watching..

I emailed my issue to etrailer and within an hour Bryce emailed me back with the part number which they had in stock. I ordered online and chose standard shipping. Got a email back that my part had shipped and Bryce had upgraded my shipping to 2-day shipping at no charge. Part arrived sooner that I expected and fit perfectly! Thank you Bryce for taking the initiative to exceed my expectations.
It did fit to my Yakima Bike Rack. I am so happy to get my broken rack fixed.
