Replacement range hood motor with dimensions

If you are replacing an older motor, then you'll have to order a new, compatible fan blade (sold separately) along with the replacement motor. To determine if you have an old motor, measure the length of the motor from end to end. (You should measure just the case of the motor - excluding shafts and mounting hardware. See the diagram above.) If the motor measures 2" long, then it is an older motor and the fan blade should also be replaced. A new motor will measure 1-1/2" in length.

The motor I ordered and was sent is the correct one. My review is incomplete because the motor hasn’t been installed and won’t be for a bit. By the performance of each correspondent from etrailer, I have no doubt the product is good. I have been very favorably impressed with the customer service and have already recommended the company. In fact, other companies would do well to emulate it. 557271

This was for my 25 year-old Ventline RV vent hood C1085 (in a 1995 RoadTrek 190 Popular). This is the official replacement motor for most any Ventline RV vent hood (as they all seem to have essentially the same internals design). The old motor was dead. This part is the official replacement motor. The good news is that it uses less amperage than the original. The bad news is that it requires a little engineering. No instructions, but can't say I expected it either. It's just a motor replacement, right? There is a small red-dot next to the positive (+) terminal. Mounting it was the real challenge. For mine, with the plate and the screws, it wasn't going to actually be possible to use the plate as anything other than a guide to drill the holes. If you are going to use the plate, you'll need to drill a hole about 3/8". The short screws will hold the motor to the plate. They are not long enough to go through another piece of metal, too. The larger screws might screw to a different support, or the unthreaded metal plate, but certainly not into the motor. I ended up using the plate as a template to screw holes in the existing support for the 2 small screws and securing it that way, but they were extremely close to the existing larger shaft clearance hole for the previous motor. They will hold, but not ideal from a design standpoint. Also, I had to buy a new fan blade because my old motor had the D-shaped shaft (and matching fan blade) and this new motor has a knurled shaft and the old one didn't fit the new shaft, requiring the new matching fan blade (BVD0216-00). But what are you gonna do? Otherwise, seems fine. I did look into replacing the vent hood in its entirety (as well as re-engineering just the fan system), affordable as they seem to be, but Ventline (nor seemingly anyone else for that matter) makes one this size (~ 13"W x 12"D x 5"H) that I could find. I did replace the original 3-way switch with 2 switches - one to turn on/off the (now LED) lamp, as well as a PWM controller to add variable speed control to the motor (alleviating the resister-driven 2-speed Ventline design). Quick and easy upgrade. 695163

I rebuilt my vent hood in my 1991 Toyota Odyssey RV with your fan and motor. It is sooo quiet and works excellently. In January I went to a rally in Quartzsite AZ., with 35 other Toyota RV's and many of the other campers wanted to know how to get a quieter fan like mine!! 665472

I received the 12-volt DC fan motor in the mail as scheduled. It was carefully packaged in shipping material that protected it from any bumps along the way. It came with all the hardware to attach the motor to my RV vent hood and it fit perfectly. The fan started fine and it helped to solve my problem. I also had a blown fuse that I had to replace. The price was fair and I would use etrailer again. 870162

For what it is, this new replacement part does the job. For the mechanically inclined this is a five minute job. Take off the screen, pull off the fan blade assuming., remove the two screws, and let the motor hang. Remove one wire at a time, black to the red dot post, and transfer to the new motor. Set back on mount, insert new screws, press fan blade assy. back on, and turn on to verify direction. Finally, replace the screen. Time for a beer! 762557

This little motor was just what I needed. Direct bolt in. My original fan blade slid right on. Now it works same as before. The trailer is a 2018 carbon 387 and this replaced the exhaust fan vent motor in the kitchen above the stove. It is a ventline model. Not really sure it was the motor. I think it was the resistor in the original wiring but I replaced both. Works great now..... And yes I have a warranty on the trailer but for the cost of the part vs. the cost of fuel and my time to drive 90 miles round trip the 25$ I spent was well worth it. Quick 15 minutes to do the repair. Thx e-trailer. 659769

works good but I had to make my own adapter bracket because the motor is a different size and the one included did not work. 650129

- BVD0218-00-R
by:

It worked, so I say it's worth 4 stars. The motor is significantly smaller than the original, and so for my application (93 Elkhorn 9TS) the template helps you drill holes to mount the new one. Trying to work upside down with a drill and 1/16" and 1/8" bits and keep from breaking them is a pain. Why can't we just get one with the correct spacing? Ah well, at least it worked. It's no quieter than the original, so that issue wasn't resolved - it's still way louder than I think it should be. I'd almost rather retrofit it with my bathroom fan motor - so much quieter! Don't try and run this while making coffee if someone is sleeping nearby. 647951

  • RV Exhaust Fan Motor Replacement for Ventilne CC316-01
The CC316-01 number you referred to is the original part number of the fan motor. Is it a replacement fan blade or motor you're needing? If that's the case, you'd use the # BVD0218-00-R replacement motor. If you were needing a replacement fan blade, one is available as part # BVD0216-00. If you were needing the entire vent hood, I'd need the part number of the one you currently have. The hood part number would start with a PH, S0, BCL, or TCL. The correct replacement motor for your Ventline S0730 Series range hood is part # BVD0218-00-R. To make sure it's compatible with your existing fan blade, measure the length of your old motor. If it measures 1-1/2 inches, as shown in the attached photo, then this new motor is all you need. If your existing motor measures 2 inches instead, it means it's an older model that is no longer available. So, to make the new motor work, you'll also need to replace the fan blade with part # BVD0216-00. For...

Thank you for the photo of the identification sticker on your Ventline range hood vent. Ventline no longer offers a replacement switch for this vent model. If you want to try a quick fix some aerosol electrical contact cleaner like Caig De-Oxit or a similar product found at your local hardware store may dissolve any contaminants inside the switch or you can simply replace the vent with a new one. If you want to try the contact cleaner you'll want to apply it, operate the switch back...

  • Is Fuse Required to Install Replacement Fan Motor for Ventline RV Range Hood
A fuse is not required in order to install the Replacement 12-Volt DC Fan Motor for Ventline RV Range Hood # BVD0218-00-R, if you are in the USA. If you are in Canada it is required, so you will just need the Replacement 12V DC Motor - Canada Approved # BVD0218-00C. You can also use this if you just want the added protection the fuse gives. These fan motors are the correct ones for a P-Series and include both the wiring and mounting hardware you'll need for installation.

It sounds like you could be replacing an older style motor, which if so means you will need a new fan blade like part # BVD0216-00. We do offer a wide range of RV kitchen range hoods in the most popular sizes but we do not offer small individual parts such as a bracket for mounting a replacement motor like # BVD0218-00-R. It may be easier at this point to replace the entire vent unit and return the motor. • Is Replacement Fuse Needed for the Ventline 12V DC Motor BVD0218-00
The fuse that was included with your BVD0218-00 motor is to ensure that it is up to specs for Canadian laws. If you live in the US then you can use part # BVD0218-00-R but if you live in Canada or you are wanting to use the fuse anyways then you need part # BVD0218-00C instead which includes the fuse. I personally like the idea of having the fuse included just for extra safety so I recommend using the latter part.

  • New Ventline Motor has 2 Black Wires but Which Wire is Power and Which is Ground
There is an easy (and fun if you like playing with electric motors, I know I do) way to figure out which wire you will need for power and which for ground on your replacement fan motor. Basically the motor is not polarity sensitive which means that either wire can be power or ground. What changes is the direction the fan will spin. So if you connect it one way and the air is not going in the direction you want you just have to switch the wire positions for it to spin in the opposite direction.
