Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra Bug Screen for Magic Chef, Atwood, and Suburban RV stove vents. This unit's easy to install. It's made from a heavy duty stainless steel construction. It's going to do a great job at keeping out unwanted pests and it's going to feature minimal airflow restriction. It's going to come with one screen. It's going to come with your installation tool, two spring fasteners, and detailed installation instructions.
Take a look at some of the measurements real quick starting with the overall length of the unit. Measuring edge to edge, it's about 11 inches long. Edge to edge this direction, it's going to be about four and 3/8 of an inch wide. Then the depth or thickness is about one and 5/16 of an inch deep. It's always a good idea to inspect your screens monthly and clean when necessary to maintain proper air flow. When you're ready to install this, what I recommend doing is placing the screen over the vent.
That's going to help you determine the best mounting locations for the spring fasteners. Now, the spring fasteners, you'll notice on this end is open and then on this end it has the crossbar that runs through there. The crossbar is the attachment point for the included tool. What you would do is placed this over the vent, locate the connection points you want to use for the springs, go head and connect the springs to the screen. Place the screen back over the vent.
Then you use the included tool to go through the screen, engage that crossbar on the spring, stretch it, and connect it to the vent. The crossbar side goes towards the stove vent. Te open side connects to the screen. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Bug Screen for Magic Chef, Atwood and Suburban RV stove vents.

Stop the invasion of unwanted insects, pests, and debris into your Magic Chef, Atwood, and Suburban RV stove vent. Stainless-steel mesh screen prevents wasps, mud daubers, and birds from building nests that interfere with your vent's airflow.I installed this screen on my 2004 Dutchmen Camper. It was a perfect fit. This will keep those dirt dobbers and wasps out of my stovetop vent. The springs hold it very snugly onto the camper. The small tool that comes with it makes the difference during installation. The tool worked fine, but I improved the tool by using a small dremel tool to widen the gap at the end of the tool for a better fit to help me install the springs. It would have worked without modifying the tool, but my modification make the installation a snap.
I would also like to add that etrailer is fast with order confirmation and shipment info. They are also available to speak with on the phone. In the past I had a small problem with one order and they were pleasant and superfast to help me resolve it at no cost to me. I now buy all my camper stuff here.
