AJ: What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be checking out the StayPut pads from Valterra. What these are going to do is they're going to go underneath the feet of your rig and help you get a bigger footprint on that uneven ground, or also help protect the concrete from getting damaged from all that weight coming down there on that steel. Let's check them out.So we have two different sizes we're going to be talking about today. We have the 13 1/2 by 11 1/2, and we have the six by six. And so you want to make sure you kind of look at what you got and what you're going to use them with to determine which one you're going to need.
So this one clear is the one we use behind me on our nine inch foot right there, and we needed that to completely cover it, because when we put this under there, the foot went over this and that wasn't give us that bigger footprint. It's actually a smaller footprint than we actually have. So then we decided that this one would work way better with our enclosed trailer on the front jack, because the foot is smaller and it's going to fit inside there, so it's going to expand that footprint and give us that more grip on the ground.I know I keep mentioning footprint, but these also help protect your concrete against the hard steel foot coming down and causing issues over time. I mean, this is going to be parked in your own driveway, so you don't want to add a bunch of cracks or driveway or anything from your rig. This is going to help protect against that.
That way you come out there, the first crack in your driveway isn't from this.Another nice feature they have is they stack in each other. So you can see, you can take two of them, set one on top, and it's made to fit in there. So I'll try and move it around. It's not going anywhere. It's not sliding.
It's made to do that. That's the way you can get some extra height. You can kind of balance out either side of your trailer, just in case you're not on completely level ground. You can put two on one side. That way it evens it out in the end.But they are similar looking to the stackers, but I wouldn't drive your rig over top of them.
That's not what these are meant for. They're not meant to balance out the whole trailer, just go underneath your jacks.I showed you the application in which we use the 12 by 12. Now here's where we used the six by six. This is the jack and I was talking about on the front of the enclosed trailer. You can see how this one's smaller than the other one and seemed to fit this foot way better than it did the other one, so we're going to use it on this. Also, this one's a little bit different. It's got rubber pads on the bottom, so it's going to help catch it when it is on the ground and you got that extra weight on there, it's not going to slide like you might be afraid that plastic would kind of slide across concrete. It's not going to do that. It's going to stay in place.Another nice feature is the handle itself. It might not seem like much, but it's pretty helpful when you're carrying around, or going to pull it away, or even when you're setting it down underneath your jacks. You don't have to grab it like this and kind of slide under there and worry about your fingers underneath. You've got the handle. You can kind of just go like that and throw it into place. The other thing is that it is made out of a pretty durable plastic. I'll try and bend it and show you. So it's not just some wimpy plastic that you can bend, and you're like, "Well, that's going to break any time." It is sturdy. It doesn't bend very easily or at all, so that's got it going forward. I think that overall, though, I'd be worried about the plastic lasting, just this chips and stuff. This is the side that goes down and you can see we've already used it once or twice. It's already got some marks on it and stuff from the concrete. So, that might cause some issues over time. Now the solution to that would be maybe upgrading to the Stromberg Carlson rubberized one. This is going to be a rubber jack pad. It does the same thing, but you can see it's already thicker, and it's all made out of rubber. I can bend it a little bit and it has a little bit of give, but that's good. I think it's going to hold up way longer than plastic, and get less scratched up and stuff like that. It's just going to be a more heavy duty option that's going to last you longer. So I think that if you're going to want to invest in something that's going to last you a long time, I would go with the Stromberg Carlson ones. They're going to last. They can mix and match. They also fit on top of each other and lock in just fine. But if you only take your rig out a couple of times a year, you go to the same lots that are always level, you don't have the problems with the loose gravel or the sand, it's always pretty even, you just want to get a set of these just in case you decided to go off grid this year, or if you decide to go somewhere new and you have them just in case of emergencies, these will work just fine and do the job. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped.

StayPut jack stand pad helps to distribute the weight of your jacks and stop them from sinking. EZ grip handle and handy storage strap. Lightweight and UV stabilized.I use them for leveling tables and stoves etc. they are too small (thin) to do much good as jack stand pads.

They keep the jack stands on our pop-up from sinking into soft ground or marking up our driveway.
