Video Transcript for Ultra-Fab Scissor Jack Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter Review

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Ultra-Fab speed socket power drill adapter for scissor jacks, part is UF48-979005.Here's what your adapter is going to look like. It's really straight forward setup. This is going to work with any drill that has a minimum opening of 3/8 of an inch, or it can even go into 1/4 inch bit drivers, so it's a pretty versatile setup. Basically, we're going to place it in whatever power tool we want to use, tighten that chuck down, it goes down on it. Then, we can operate our jacks. One thing to keep in mind, if you are backing the screw out, what would traditionally be loosening, that's going to lower the jack. If you go into the tightening, or if you turn it towards the right, that's going to raise the jack.

We'll start with it in reverse. You can see, that's going to be much quicker, much easy, and more simple, than using that hand crank. Especially when it gets hot, the humidity's up, bending over for an extended period of time is not something you want to do. This has been designed to work with the Ultra-Fab scissor jacks, of course, but it'll work with any scissor jack that uses a 3/4 inch socket, here on the end. Now, to raise it back up, would be the opposite process.

Turn our drill so it's tightening, and you can see right up in that stored position. Now, some scissor jacks are going to have a pin that goes through a circle, or there's going to be a flattened tab with a hole in it for J hook to go in. This isn't going to work for those applications, so that's something to keep in mind. That'll complete our look at the Ultra-Fab speed socket power drill adapter for scissor jacks.

Works as advertised. Not much to rate as this is basically just a socket driver for a drill, but the shipping was fast and this was a convenient item as an add on to another larger sale more unique to etrailer. Transaction was flawless as etrailer always seems to do online sales well. 682070

I am very happy with the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks. It works just as advertised. I own a cordless impact driver and experimented with chucking up a 3/4" socket to raise and lower the jacks. Don't do it that way! You stand in jeopardy of damaging the jack. Using a convention cordless drill-driver to slowly spin the fitting still requires caution, but is much better. Just remember; once the jack makes contact with the ground, switch over to hand cranking the last few revs. to firm up. 578610

Ask the Experts about this Ultra-Fab Products Accessories and Parts

  • Is There a Socket for Stabilizer/Scissor Jacks With A Slot On An Airstream Trailer
The Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter part # UF48-979005 is essentially just a 3/4" socket. If the stabilizer jacks you have now can be raised and lowered with a 3/4" socket then the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter will work for you. That said, it sounds like you may need to use the Ultra-Fab T-Slot Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks part # UF48-979071 instead which has the slot that you referenced.

  • Is a Specific Voltage and Size Cordless Drill Needed for Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter
No specific voltage of electric drill is required for the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter, # UF48-979005. Any cordless drill will be able to turn the crank up to a certain point but depending on the voltage, the amount of battery life, and the weight of the trailer, any drill can only do so much and then you would need to use the manual handle. The drill will just have to accept 3/8 inch drill bits in order to accept the adapter.

  • Drill Socket to Use With Scissor Jacks
To lift a scissor jack such as the Ultra-Fab # UF48-979002, which has a 6,500 support capacity you only need to use the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks # UF48-979005. This adapter uses 3/8" drill bits which is what is going to work with many different scissor jacks.

  • How does the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter Operate a Scissor Jack
Most scissor jacks have a 3/4 inch hex head on the crank shaft. The Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter, # UF48-979005, is a universal 3/4 inch socket that fits most standard scissor jacks. If your jack does not have a 3/4 inch hex head for the crank handle, then this socket may not work for your jack. Typically, if scissor jack manufacturers do not use a standard crank handle, then you would want to contact that manufacturer for a replacement crank handle or drill bit options...

  • Availability of 12V Motor for Husky Leveling Scissor Jack
We do not offer a motor kit for any of the manual scissor jacks we sell. However, we do offer the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks, part # UF48-979005, that allows you to use a cordless power drill to operate the jack at up to ten times the manual cranking speed. For reference I have linked our page for all powered jacks that we offer.

  • What Size Drill Can Be Used With Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter # UF48-979005
The Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter, part # UF48-979005 will work with either a 3/8 or 1/2 inch drill. The hex socket is 3/4 inches and will work great in either drill. Using the socket makes the operation up to 10 times faster. The scissor jack can be used to level and stabilize your trailer, but is not designed for lifting.

  • Troubleshooting Scissor Jack Switch on Trailer that Stops Working When Switch Is Pressed
Check the power and ground. It sounds like either the power or ground wires aren't able to pull enough amperage to operate the scissor jack motor or there's a problem with the motor and its wanting to draw too much amperage to operate and therefore it needs to be replaced. Make sure the battery has a good charge and the wiring is solid and also the same for the ground wire.

  • Recommended Flatbed Cargo Trailer Stabilizer Leg for Rear of Trailer
For your Sure Trac ST9614 HLODOD-B-140 trailer I recommend adding the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jacks - 24" Lift - 6,500 lbs - Qty 2 # UF48-979002. I believe these will work well to stabilize your trailer for loading. They can be adjusted using the hand crank or you can use the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket Power Drill Adapter for Scissor Jacks # UF48-979005 if you prefer. • Best Way to Stabilize a 40 Foot Travel Trailer
For your 40 foot travel trailer, I recommend using four stabilizer jacks and two wheel stabilizers. The stabilizers jacks will need to be placed in all four corner of the trailer and for this, I recommend the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jacks part # UF48-979031 which have a 6,500 lb capacity and offer up to 30" of lift. I have a solution for you, but when I called Lippert to confirm the size of the bolt on the Lippert Components Scissor Jack # LC285325 they informed me that this particular jack should not be raised or lowered using a power tool, but it does have a 3/4" nut. For that reason, I recommend instead going with the Stromberg Carlson # JSC-24-IND which works with a standard 3/4" socket. If you needed a matching socket for this jack, you can use the Ultra-Fab Speed Socket which is an adapter for...

  • Replacing Old Atwood Drop Down Stabilizer Jacks
Replacement parts are not available for the stabilizer jacks that you have. Your best option would be to replace them. I actually recommend going with something a little more stout that will last longer such as a set of scissor jacks like # UF48-979002. You could then use speed socket # UF48-979005 with an electric drill to make raising and lower the jacks super fast.

Yes, you can use a drill to make raising and lowering the scissor jack set part # JSC-24 a bit quicker. You'll just need the drill adapter part # UF48-979005 too and you'd be set. This basically is a socket attached to a power drill shank. The size socket that comes with this is 3/4 inch. See review video I attached for this as well.
