Video Transcript for Titan Brake Actuator T4714200042 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the replacement master cylinder for brake actuators. This unit is a direct replacement for the master cylinder on your Titan Aero 7500 brake actuator. It works with disc brake models only. When it comes to the construction it's made from cast steel, so it's very strong and durable. It's also designed to resist rust and corrosion. See here, back here, you'd remove that plug, that's the connection point for the brake line.

You've got the rubber boot here.Installation hardware is not included, so you will need to use your existing hardware. The holes in the unit are already threaded, and they do allow for a nice, easy installation. Again, direct replacement so just pay attention at how you removed your old one, and then this one would install the same way, just reverse those steps. That's going to do it for today's look at the replacement master cylinder for brake actuators. Again, this one is a direct replacement for the master cylinder on your Titan Aero 7500 brake actuator, and it's designed to work with disc brake models only.

  • Master Cylinder Removal From a Titan 7500 Brake Actuator
You will need to remove the brake line from the back of the master cylinder and cap, and since you have removed the two master cylinder assembly bolts the master cylinder should come out. You may need to slide the master cylinder back a little bit but it should come out from the underside.

  • Replacement Master Cylinder Body for Titan Model 60 or Aero 7500 Disc Brake Actuators
The body part only of the master cylinders in the Aero 7500 Disc and Model 60 Disc are the same, # T4714200042. The replacement assembly, # T4820000, is the complete replacement kit for a Model 60 Disc brake actuator (Master cylinder Gasket, Orifice connector, Hex bolt: 3/4 inch long x 1/4 inch diameter, Lock washer: 1/4 inch diameter Diaphragm-style filler cap Master cylinder cove).

  • Troubleshooting Dico Aero 6000 Surge Brake Actuator that Clunks and Brakes Get Hot
Most likely it's just the shock since you described clunking and the brakes not fully releasing as that's a textbook symptom of a bad surge brake shock. Since you have a Dico Aero 6000 actuator the correct replacement shock would then be the part # T4502000. If you do determine it's the master cylinder or you just want to replace it now while you have it apart you'd want the part # T4395100 for if you have drum brakes or part # T4714200042 for if you have disc.

  • Replacement Master Cylinder for Titan Aero 7500 Brake Actuating Coupler for Disc Brakes
The Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly for Titan Model 60 Brake Actuators - Disc # T4820000 is not the replacement you are seeking. Instead you will want the Replacement Master Cylinder for Titan Aero 7500 Brake Actuators - Disc # T4714200042 along with the Replacement Cover Gasket for Titan Aero 7500 Master Cylinders # DX37FR. You can reuse the old push rod or you can use the Replacement Push Rod Assembly for Titan Model 60 Brake Actuator # T2346300 if desired.

  • Aero 6000 Master Cylinder Replacement for Use with Disc Brakes
The Replacement Master Cylinder Assembly # T4395100 that you referenced is only designed to work with drum brakes. For an Aero 6000 master cylinder kit the part # T4714200042 will work with disc brakes but you would need to reuse the other parts.

  • Can a Titan Aero 7500 Drum Brake Actuator be Used with Disc Trailer Brakes
Since brake actuator # T4839000 is a drum brake actuator you will have to replace the master cylinder with # T4714200042 which is the one for disc bake applications. Disc brakes require more psi to activate the brakes so you cannot use the drum master cylinder because it will not be strong enough. Nothing else about the actuator will have to be changed. You can use the same brake lines as well. But if the trailer currently has steel lines going to the drum brake wheel cylinders you will...
