Hello, neighbor Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at this remote transmitter for your Tint Minder digital weather stations. Now folks, this transmitter again works with the Tint Minder Digital Weather Station, and it's designed for many different models that they make. So check out the website here for a list of all of those. It's a wide variety. Now this does do outdoor temperature ranging from negative 22 degrees Fahrenheit to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, or negative 30 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius.
The transmission range is pretty impressive, 210 feet and does require the use of two AAA batteries not included. Lemme get this open here. And as you can see, you put the batteries there. Now you've got a couple buttons here. You got one here, and then you've got a 1, 2, 3 on this black clicker.
Basically, if you're adding extra transmitters, like maybe this isn't just a replacement, maybe you're adding a second or third one, according to the instructions that have come with it, you'll wanna put it on whichever transmitter, in this case, I moved it to 2, whichever one you want it to be on for the monitor. So I've put it on two, got the batteries in, and then I hook everything back up and then ready to go. And as you can see, it's got a little spot there for you to hang it, mount it to the wall or wherever you wanna mount it. Now you wanna make sure you use lithium batteries for the best range, especially in cold temperatures. Well, folks that's gonna wrap it up.

These are terrific for monitoring Temps in your freezer and fridge. You definitely want to store food properly. I velcro the third one in my water bay to assure no freezing, and also as a general outdoor thermometer. The bonus is being able to monitor humidity in your rig. Lower is better. To reduce humidity, run exhaust fans, especially when showering. These work with the simple grayscale battery operated monitor as well as the color model which claims to predict weather also.
etrailer assured me that this device would transmit to the viewer from inside the lower part of my all-aluminum truck camper. It doesn't. Last night I put both sending units outside and they seemed fairly accurate reading a degree colder than current temperature claimed on Accuweather. I have long noticed that we get frost here when Accuweather lists a warmer temperature so reading colder is correct--whether one degree colder is accurate or it should be several I don't know. However, this morning I put one sensor in the area under my truck camper which I hoped to monitor to prevent freezing and there was no reading. I did not think a radio device could transmit when completely enclosed in metal, but I bought it because etrailer assured me it could. I do not plan on returning the device--at least I will know approximately what the outside temperature is. To find the temperature in the tank compartment under my camper I will have to go outside and open it so the radio waves can escape. The ideal device would tell me what the temperature is under my camper at all times without my having to outside to check.
