Have these in both tow vehicles. Holds controller securely and makes it great to swap out between vehicles and not have to by another controller

Product works great. Installation very easy. etrailer delivery time was a bit extreme. I ordered from etrailer on the recommendation from a friend. It took 7 weeks to receive my brake cable. Upon further research I could have gotten it in 3 days from another dealer. etrailer never called or emailed to explain delivery situation until I contacted them for an update. Product great. Service not so much.

i bought a mount an extra mounting bracket and plug for a second vehicle rather than limit myself to using the control in one vehicle. seems like it will workout great.

A great way to expand the use of your brake controller if you plan on using it in only one vehicle at a time. Saved a lot of money over purchasing a second unit.

by:

Product was exactly what I needed to allow me to swap my brake controller between my Honda pilot and my jeep Cherokee

- 7686
by:

The extra mounting pocket makes the unit transportable from vehicle to vehicle. I have multiple tow vehicles. It saves the cost of having a controller in each vehicle. Simply unplug and pop out of the pocket and pop in other vehicle. This way your using a controller that your used to and it's functions. Great product

I did not use the tekonsha plug-in, as I was able to find Directions On Your web page. Katherine B. was extra helpful in getting the right parts. Is very knowledgeable about products.

- 7686
by:

I purchased this mounting pocket for holding the Tekonsha P2 brake controller in a second tow vehicle, as the controller is easily transferred between vehicles. I have installed the pocket and used the trailer brake controller now in the second vehicle. It works just like the one in the first vehicle!

Comments
I have this pocket currently installed in three vehicles. Although occasionally the connectorharness falls out when not connected, otherwise things work fine. It is just a little difficult to disconnect, but otherwise fine.

Pretty straight forward purchase of an accessory for my Prodigy brake booster. But, as usual, etrailer had just what I needed. These mounting pockets give your installation a nice clean look, and with the wiring harness exiting out the back, it's easy to keep it out of sight and out of the way. I bought this one so that I can easily move my brake booster between either of my two F250's. One suggestion. Check your manual before you order coming make sure that you have a suitable place to mount this product. There are specific limits for angle and tilt beyond which your Prodigy booster will not work.

- 7686
by:

This made it easy to install my new controller in place of the stock controller and holds it in just the right place securely.

- 7686

Still fits brake controller but does not fit in location anymore. I think the summer heat deformed it enough to slide out.

i havent installed this product yet, but i'm certain it will be a snap as i've done it before. my 5 star rating is for the CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT customer service i've received from etrailer over the years. second to none. always my best internet shopping experience from a customer service and tech standpoint.

- 7686
by:

Worked like a charm! Had to remove some of the lower dash to reach the connection, but a video helped with that. Plugged in the pigtail to my brake controller, and viola - brakes, and lights, for my trailer!

- 7686
by:

Nice people. Order was correct. Price point was right on. Quality equipment. Will use them again as needed.

- 7686
by:

I really like the slide in option for the P2 controller I bought for my truck. Having this option allowed us to set up my wife's Grand Cherokee for the few times we use it to haul the trailer. Just wish it was designed so the connection was made when sliding the controller in instead of having the pull the cable through which looks sloppy when the controller isn't in the Jeep.

The items I ordered were delivered promptly and were exactly as ordered. In addition, installation instructions were included and the instructions were more detailed than I was able to find from any other source. I purchased a new pickup truck that came equipped with a tow package. I tow a two horse trailer with electric brakes. Since the truck manufacturer doesn't know what kind of trailer you have, the vehicle wasn't equipped with an inertia brake controller. It does have the input plug, however. So I had to get a mounting bracket and attachment cable so I could move my controller from my old vehicle to my new one. I simply ordered a mounting bracket and cable and these items arrived a few days ago. I will be installing them soon. So, I'm satisfied with the service from etrailer.

I like this much better than the old metal mount. I can unplug and move the brake controller between my trucks with out tools. The service at eTrailer is great!

- 7686
by:

I purchased this unit so I can move my controller back and forth from one vehicle to the other. It works great as it is the exact same unit as came with the controller.

Excellent quality and strength. Why skimp on something as important as your hitch? I have purchased three of these Draw Tites - I guess a repeat customer will scream about the true quality a company can garner from repeat customers. When you pull show cars worth six figures, you can't afford a poorly made hitch. Step up, step out, and don't fret what you are pulling.

  • Quick-Release Mount Recommendation for a P3 Brake Controller
The standard quick-release mount for the P3 # 90195 is the part # TK5906. This would probably be your best option. Actually I checked the reviews for the # 7686 and found a customer who said he attempted to get it to fit a P3 and it did not work. Because of that I would not recommend it for you.

We do have the correct plug-in adapter for your 2018 Ford F-150 to go with the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885.
