Today we're going to review part number SW90-25048-01. This is the Superwinch replacement remote switch socket for the Superwinch gp series and ap series wenches. This remote switch socket is installed on the solenoid cover of the winch and then the wires would run to the solenoid. The socket is where you plug in your hand-held remote to control your winch. On the outer bracket when you install this, this would go on the inside of the cover and this outer bracket would go on the outside. You bolt it together and included with this outer bracket you can see it's connected an integrated dust cap.
What's nice about that, when it's installed and your remote is not plugged in, you can just bend that dust cap over and it helps protects the terminals, protect it from the elements or any damage. Again, this switch socket is designed to fit the Superwinch gp series winches, numbers 1800, 2300 or 3000 models, and it fits the ap series winches models 9.0, 12.5 and 16.5 models. Replaces 1 socket for Superwinch S4000, S5000, S9000, X9000, and EP Series winch remotes.Used this to update my winch controller so I could use a (HF) wireless controller with a 5 pin plug. I had to modify the socket slightly by cutting an extra slot in it so it would index properly with my plug, but worked great! Great when you need to update your winch socket.
Part was as expected and easy to find on the site - shipping was fast - allowed us to get our winch remote back in operation.
Exactly what I need to fix the winch
This is a great thing for me to find after I discovered the field mice had made a home in my winch and were eating all the insulation off the control wires. It's an exact replacement and is perfect in fit and function. I bought two.
