Video Transcript for Review of Spectro Wiring - SWC501925-1

Today we're going to take a look at the closed port quick spice self-stripping connector for a quantity of one.Now this closed port quick splice self-stripping connector is designed to splice into an existing wire without having to cut crimp or strip. Provides an open channel in the front for your existing wire and a closed channel in the back here for the tap wire to go into. This metal blade right here you can see is attached and that pierces the wires in each of the channels of the connector to make your connections. Pliers are required to squeeze down on that plate after your wires are placed in there. I'm going to demonstrate that in a minute here. This is for a quantity of one connector. Now this is designed to use a .. If you're going to tap a 14 gauge, 16 gauge, or 18 gauge wire to a 10 or 12 gauge existing wire.

The maximum power rating is 600 volts. And like I said, we're going to demonstrate here.So here's your . This is the larger 10 to 12 gauge existing wiring. So what you'll do is in that front open channel, you can just push this into your open channel, your existing wiring just like that, and then you can tap this smaller gauge wire right in the very back here. And it's a closed port, you can see when you insert this in and push it, it's closed off so it only allows it to go so far.So with both of those wires in there, what you'll want to do is take your pliers, put it onto the blade right there, push them together just like that, and then you can see once there, make sure it's totally pushed down.

Once it's like that you made your connections, you tapped your wire into your existing wire, then you can push your cover on it closed, and see right there it'll clip on. That cover will protect your connection also. And then you're all ready to go. You've tapped this wire into your existing wiring. But that should do it for the review on the closed port quick splice self-stripping connector for a quantity of one.

  • Using Quick Splice Connectors for Water Proof Connection
If you're looking for a waterproof connection, I couldn't recommend quick splice connectors like the # SWC501925-1. The best solution to make the connection waterproof is to solder the connection then use a heat shrink tube like # DW05449 for 10-14 gauge wires or # DW05451 for 14-18 gauge wire. The second best option would be to use a heat shrink butt connector like # DW05745-5 for 10-12 gauge or # DW05744-10 for 14-16 gauge. Wrapping the connections securely in electrical tape would also...

  • What Type of Trailer Wiring Connector Clamps Down to Connect to Wires
Sounds like you are describing quick splice connectors like the part # SWC501925-1 which are a pretty standard and easy design most of the time. To make the connection you just set the two wires in the slots and use pliers to close the lid and your set. This part number actually strips the wires too.

  • Finding Cold Side of Brake Light Switch on 2017 Toyota Tacoma
It sounds like you have the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter - 7 Way Trailer Connector # 22117. Unfortunately to connect to your brake switch, I can't tell you the wire color, but I can help you with how to find the correct wire. Use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 and probe the wire insulation or the connection at the back of the switch if you have access. There will be a hot side carrying constant power and the cold side will only carry power...

White is ground Blue is Brake Controller Black is 12V Brown is Running/tail lights Green is right turn/stop Yellow is left turn/stop The second yellow will be for reverse I've attached an article to assist further. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test functions prior...

If you don't install the reverse lockout solenoid # T4748800 that came with your actuator, then unless you have free backing brake assemblies, you will not be able to back up without activating the brakes immediately. This solenoid basically works like a valve not allowing the hydraulic brake fluid to move through the brake lines to activate your brake assemblies. Because you have a 4-way, I recommend you add the Hopkins Endurance 5-Way Flat Trailer Wiring Kit - Vehicle and Trailer...

The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional # RED44FR will need to be installed using the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This will give you the circuit breakers, connectors, and wiring needed to connect your brake controller. Tapping into your 4-way brake signal will work to give you the brake lights but unfortunately the turn signal is found on that same wire, so it would combine the signal....

  • Recommended Wiring For 5th Wheel RV Trailer to Pull Another Trailer
We do not have any kits for adding a trailer connector to a 5th wheel trailer, but you can simply run the wires from as far back as you can tap into the signal on your 5th wheel to the rear. I suggest using the Deka Bonded 4 Wire # 16-4B-1 sold by the foot. You can use quick splice wire connectors like # SWC501925-1. For the back of your RV, you can use the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Fix Replacement 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector w LED Test Lights - Vehicle End # HM48190. If you need...

I think I understand what you are asking. For your 2015 Jeep Cherokee, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118605 will give you the basic trailer functions as you stated and then you can add the reverse feature alone using the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat - Vehicle End # C57187 and simply use the quick splice to tap into the reverse light at your tail light on either side. This will give you a 5-way flat connector that is...

You are correct that both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13294 and # C13411 are confirmed to fit your 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE43 AMG. Both hitches have a hidden crosstube meaning that only the receiver itself will be visible once installed. I do however recommend the # C13294 as it has a slightly higher tongue weight rating at 750lbs, and a slightly higher trailer weight rating at 7500lbs. For wiring you will first need to install a 4-way connector using # 119250KIT. With...

This will allow you to use all the functions you want. I highly recommend hardwiring this to the wires just before your 7 way connector to still give you your trailer connection. On your 2014 Chevy Silverado, there are a couple of options to connect your Truck Cap stop light to your truck. To use the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System # HM50002 you would need to splice into your reverse wire behind your tail light. You can absolutely use this hardwired way of installing this camera system. The easiest way to do this is to use a Quick Splice Wire Connector - 14-18 AWG (Qty 1) # SWC501925-1 and connect it to the reverse power wire near the tail light and connect the purple wire of the harness for the camera.

  • How To Wire Light Bar On Trailer With Switch In Vehicle
You can definitely install a light bar on your trailer and control it with a switch in your truck. I will say that it will require quite a bit of cautiously routing wires to avoid moving/hot parts and some splicing wires as you will have to extend the light bar wires to reach that far. I will use the Buyers Products Off-Road LED Light Bar 39-1/2" Long # 3371492184 for example. For this light bar you will need the wiring harness # 3373035768. I recommend using a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to find a wire that has power to your tail lights or near your fuse box when vehicle is on ACC or running. You can use a quick splice like # SWC501925-1 to tap into that power easily. This will automatically turn the clearance lights on and off with your running lights.

  • Will The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System Work On A 2010 Toyota Tundra?
Thank you for being our customer. I reached out to my tech contact at Hopkins and the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, # HM50002, absolutely can work for your vehicle. The reason why they may say incompatible is that the quick connects were put on the Tundra in 2014, so the older models don't use the quick connects. You can simply cut the two wires from the quick connect and one wire will go to a common ground and the other will splice into your reverse signal...

Since you have no power for the reverse light function on your 7-way, I recommend first checking your ground as a seemingly good ground can often cause one function like this not to work. You will want to ensure you have a clean bare metal to metal connection free of corrosion and debris. To separate your combined turn and brake lights, you will need the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # C56196 to isolate those signals. You will need to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test for the functions to determine which wires to splice into for this converter to function properly. To change the turn signal from red to amber, you will need to determine if the lens is replicable on your tail lights and if the LED's are able to work with amber or if they are only red.
