Specs:
This replacement base for your SuperClamp lets you tilt the rack down with your bikes loaded for access to your vehicle's rear cargo area and fold it up against your vehicle for storage. It also makes your SuperClamp compatible with your Class A, B, or C motorhome. The handle is located in the front of the rack so it's easy to access. Simply lift the handle and use your free hand to lower or raise the rack.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com And today, we're gonna take a look at this tilting base for the Saris SuperClamp hitch racks for two-inch hitches. Now this replacement base for your SuperClamp is going to let you tilt your rack down with your bikes loaded for access to your vehicle's rear cargo area and then fold it up against your vehicle for storage. It's also going to make your SuperClamp compatible with your RV. Now this is going to work with all non-tilting SuperClamp racks and it will also convert your SuperClamp EX four-bike rack, which I have that item number on your screen for reference, into a two-bike rack. Now this is going to be really easy to use and I'm going to go ahead and switch my camera angles here and just line this up a little bit on my table, so I can demonstrate the tilt for you. So you're just going to simply use this handle here that is located in the front of the rack and it's gonna be obviously very easy to access.
And then just push the handle down and use your free hand to lower or raise the rack. So when, just to show you how to raise this, you're gonna push this down, and obviously this is going to be easier while this is hooked up to your hitch. But then, I move that up there for storage purposes. And then, to move this all the way down, I'm just going to remove this safety pin and clip. And that safety pin and clip is going to prevent this rack from accidentally tilting down all the way.
So again, gonna push my handle down and move it all the way down. And then, that's going to allow me to have access to my rear cargo area. And I'm gonna go ahead and put it back in the center. And we're locked into place there and then I'm gonna go ahead and replace my safety pin and clip. So again, I'm not gonna have to worry about this accidentally moving down.
If for whatever reason this handle gets depressed, that safety pin and clip is going to keep that from accidentally moving down. So that's a nice addition to this tilting base. Now this is going to be an easy installation, using your existing hardware on your SuperClamp rack. And to convert your rack to a tilting rack, you're just going to remove your existing base and replace it with this tilting base. And to convert your SuperClamp EX four-bike rack into a two-bike rack, you're just going to remove the rear wheel tray and bolt to the tilting base.
Now instructions are included. This is made here in the USA, and again, this is going to fit right into your two-inch trailer hitch receiver. And this weighs about 13 pounds, so it's not overly heavy at all, but it does feel very robust. And this does have a limited lifetime warranty. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

This RV-compatible replacement base for your Saris SuperClamp hitch-mounted bike rack lets you tilt it down for rear cargo area access and fold it up against your vehicle for storage. It also lets you convert your 4-bike SuperClamp to a 2-bike rack. It's exactly what I wanted but I'm curious why they couldn't make the base about 1-2" longer so that the racks could clear spare tires mounted on the back of vehicles. I have to get a hitch extender now which is fine but was really hoping this was a one-product-solves-all sort of deal. [for the record I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler with standard hitch and I can tilt my rack away and open the swing gate now which is awesome but cannot tilt the rack vertically as it comes into contact with the spare annoyingly close to clicking into place in that position]. Still recommend! Will be a big improvement on the non-tilting base I had previously.
Part came very quickly and was clean and high quality. Did not come with any mounting bolts or other hardware
This bad was just what I wanted. It is really solid and has almost no wobble even with two ebikes. Much better than the 1 1/4 inch original.

Still works! Need the hitch extender still as well but everything has held up. I usually take the rack off to eliminate chances of other cars making contact with it or thieves tamperingstealing it.
