Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the replacement tilt, pull handle. This is going to be for the Saris Bones Hitch Mounted Bike Rack. Now this is going to be that handle that you'll use to pull and then tilt down the mass of your hitch mounted bike rack so that you can gain access to your trunk. So maybe something happened, this got knocked off, damaged, something happened along the way so you need a new one.
So you can activate that pull feature or your tilt feature. It's just going to pop in place. Does have a little section there where you can put the top plate over it to mount or to complete the look of it.And this does come in gray. A lot of those Saris Bones.. They had the yellow one, but this is going to be the exact same fit.
It has all the same features should be the same size to work with your Saris Bones. I'm going to give you some measurements just for reference here. It is a direct replacement from Saris though. So it's going to be two and an eighth inch long from edge to edge. This top portion of our handle is about, it's just a hair over an inch deep, so an inch and a 16th.
Total length is about two or, excuse me, it was about one and seven eighths inches. And then the total depth about one and a quarter. This little tab here is going to be about five 16th's of inch tall, half an inch thick and about. see it's just over three quarters of an inch. So that would be 13 16th's.
The little diameter, or the little hole there, that diameter is about five 16th's.Just wanted to give you enough measurements to make sure that that's going to be the right fit for you. But it should get you back out on the road and using your Saris Bones for a long time to come without having to replace that whole bike rack. Again, those part numbers, those are going to be SA882, SA883 or SA884. You can find all those bike racks right here at etrailer.com as well as a number of other replacement parts. Handle is good, but the design material is the flaw, 2nd handle I had to buy due to breakage. Should have been made from aluminum or some other metal.
Excellent replacement part and much cheaper than ordering from Saris.
Other than not being yellow, like the original Saris part, this is a perfect replacement for a broken tilt handle on my Saris Bones Hitch rack.
