This maintenance kit provides 4 replacement cage nuts for your Rola GTX-, RBXL-, RB- or RM-style roof-racks. These nuts work with special bolts (sold separately) to hold the mounting straps in place inside the roof-rack legs.Was sent these replacement cage nuts because one of the roof racks I ordered had a defective one (no threading). Replacing the defective one was simple enough, and everything went together smoothly. It's great that etrailer has these available in case of a manufacturer defect or if something gets stripped over time.
Bought these to install a factory ski rack ( '88 Isuzu Trooper!) on the factory rack on my Acura MDX. I have to say I was worried, the gap on the rail is narrower than the Rola. They worked perfectly, installed easily, saved me a BUNCH of $$$ not having to buy new ski racks or after-market rails!
