Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts StreetRod 12 millimeter and 15 millimeter thru-axle adapter for fork mount bike racks, part number RKY10941. This is black in color, but this will also come in orange, red, silver, and blue. The RockyMounts StreetRod acts as an adapter, so it enables you to carry your thru-axle bike onto your fork mounted bike rack. The StreetRod works with most bike racks with nine millimeter quick release skewers, and can have three interchangeable axle sleeves on the inside here. Right now we have it set at a 15 by 100 millimeter thru-axle, but this also comes with a boost or wider 15 by 110 millimeter thru-axle or a 12 by 100 millimeter thru-axle. The measurements for this adapter are gonna be four inches tall by four and five eighths wide.
The top portion here is about three and an eighths inch wide, and depending on what adapter you use, that's gonna change with this measurement here. It's very quick and easy to install, and you don't need any additional tools to do this, it just simply sits on top or rests on top of your nine millimeter quick release skewer, gets put into place, and it also has enough of an opening on the bottom here so you can pass cable locks through to secure your bike to the bike rack, and these cable locks are sold separately and can be found on etrailer.com. This is made from a non-corrosive aluminum with an anodized finish. Now, this one happens to be black, but as I said earlier, this does come in other colors. When we're finished using it, it's very easy to remove. You simply undo the skewer mount, loosen it up, and just lift the bike off as you would any other time. Now that we've gone over some features of the StreetRod, let's go ahead and show you how it installs.
Once you can do it out of the box, this is everything that comes with it. It comes pre-installed with the 15 by 110 millimeter thru-axle or boost thru-axle. To change these up, we have two screws up at the top, we'll take the included Allen tool and loosen it up. Then we loosen up the second bolt until it's loose enough to slide this out of place, slide the one you need in, and simply tighten down those bolts again. So nice and snug, and that's not gonna move. Now we're ready to install this onto our bike rack.
Now, to install this you want to get the appropriate thru-axle setting, which we do, remove the tire, place the thru-axle on like so, place the axle through, and tighten it up. Now we can set this on our bike rack. We'll also make sure that our skewer mount is in the open position ready to receive our adapter, our rear strap is open as well. Then we can set our bike in place, setting our rear tire in first. Then we can tighten down our skewer, I want to make sure it's nice and tight.
Once it's tightened down, give it a good shake test, make sure it's road ready, and now we're ready to hit the road. When comparing this to other products, two that come up are gonna be the Swagman Spire fork adapter for bikes and the Yakima fork adapter for bikes. The Swagman's going to be part number S64706, with the Yakima being Y20113. Out of these three, the most economical is going to be the Swagman, followed by the RockyMounts, and then the Yakima. As far as versatility is concerned, that's going to go to both the RockyMounts and the Swagman, as they can sit multiple thru-axles with the Yakima only being able to fit the boost thru-axle. And as far as no tools required to install it, that's going to go to both the Swagman and the Yakima, as the RockyMounts requires the included Allen tool to loosen up and switch out the thru-axles that way.inaudible 00:03:57 for the RockyMounts StreetRod thru-axle adapter for fork mount bike racks, part number RKY10941, black in color.

As advertised. Great price. Prompt deli very.
Product works well and as described. Comes with multiple thru-axle adapters to fit both 12-mm and 15-mm thru-axle bikes. Ended up buying a second mount for my wife's bike as well. One warning, if you have a Rock-Shock fork on a mountain bike, check the size of the thru-axle mounting area on the fork. If is is like mine (Rock-Shock Yari), it may be larger than mounting circumference of the provided thru-axle adapter. You can still use it just fine, but it would be a lot easier to line up and insert the thru-axle bolt if you can find or make a spacer to place on each end of the thru-axle adapter to fit the fork mounting area and line up the hole for the thru-axle bolt.
Great product and amazing service
Too narrow for my old BMW bike racks. Had to spread them slightly to fit. Otherwise a great product.
Worked perfect, saved me from buying a new Thule roof rack for my gravel bike with a threaded axle. Excellent quality and finish.
Was exactly as described-easy to change out thru-axel sizes. Thank you
