I bought a used older generation Roadmaster Sterling which had obviously seen some use. But when I took it apart it looked and worked good. This bushing replacement is an OEM replacement and provides the basis for a solid rebuild.

by:

Nice little rebuild kit. Pretty easy instal and refreshed the operation of my tow bar set up. Still working great. A much better option than buying a new tow bar

by:

Great product to repair those hard to move tow bar arms. Woud be excellent if it included the split sleeve bearing for the alminium housing or at least recommend it be ordered at the same time.
Included is a pic of one of my bushing, what's left of the bushing. The other arm was worst.

by:

Bushing kit performed like new. Easy to rebuild.

Great product. Made hook up a lot easier.

Before I ordered the 2 rebuild kits for and older model Sterling All Terrain Roadmaster towbar I did a lot of investigation. Called etrailer and was reassured the rebuild kits were compatible for my age of towbar. I then called Roadmaster and was told the same thing. I ordered them from etrailer as I’ve always been pleased with their service and timely delivery.
To my surprise when i recieved the product and installed the bushing on the internal arms I found the arms would no longer fit into the tubes. I tried sanding them a bit but then thought why am I doing this they were supposed to fit.
Called etrailer and they said because I altered the bushings there would be no refund. They helped by calls Roadmaster and guess what. The rebuild kits are made for the later issue steely towbar and the installation requires sanding of the round bushings in order for them to fit. Hmm,
Never told that and the instructions didn’t say anything about sanding but as it turns out I did what was supposed to have been done.
As there would now be no refund because the parts were altered I carried on with sanding the bushings. Not an easy thing on a round donut.

Roadmaster agreed to send me 3 more so I can start over. Thank you Roadmaster

The kits were also missing 1 white 3/4 in nylon washer and the 2 c-clips for the small pins that hold the springs. Also being sent by Roadmaster.

According to Roadmaster, theres been some running design changes over the years that will affect the fit of the inner bushings. On some models, the fit will indeed need to be adjusted by removing a small amount of material on the bushing.

by:

It only took a few minutes to install the bushing after talking about a bushing that I realized was hidden with the technician. The bars slide with very little effort and I am thankful to everyone.
Next spring we will be trading cars so I will need to order new tow bar equipment. Hope there is no back log.

Still working great as long as one keeps the bars clean and lubed with a silicone spray

by:

Note that this product only fits certain Sterling tow bars, best to disassemble your tow bar and examine the inner arm type before purchase.

This bushing kit is intended for the Roadmaster Sterling non all Terrain models that have a serial number that is lower than 27671. You will need to spread the 2 arms apart on the tow bar and then look for the sticker where the two arms come together. That is where you should find the serial number.

by:

Product was exactly what I needed. Shipping was extremely fast. My older Sterling tow bar is like brand new. Thanks

by:

This kit works, not too hard to install. How to on youtube.

by:

I just completed our Florida trip using my Roadmaster tow bar rebuilt with your parts. Connecting and disconnecting has never been easier. I bought the tow bar used and if I had known what a difference rebuilding would make, I would have done it years ago.

by:

Great selection on older towing accessories most always in stock.. thanks

I love the improvement in the towbar.

by:

Exact replacement. Just what I needed to rebuild my Roadmaster Sterling tow bar and convert to a Blue Ox spec. baseplate.

by:

These parts fit my Sterling Tow Bar perfectly. They were easy to change and now the tow bar works like new. Oh, and shipping was amazingly fast. Thank you.

by:

We bought all of these parts to rebuild a used Sterling tow bar we bought. They all worked and fit perfectly. It actually made hitch feel and work like a new one for a lot less money.

by:

The bushing kit I ordered to rebuild my Roadmaster tow bars worked great...works like new now.

by:

There are several options for baseplate and associated items to set autos up for towing but I used the expertise of the etrailer reps that recommended the 'correct' items to make it happen. I recommend etrailer often.

by:

I have an older Roadmaster Sterling towbar that the inner arms were sticking. Ordered the bushing kit. Received promptly. Installed last night and works like it was new. Thanks etrailer!!

If the serial number on your Sterling tow bar is 2433 then replacement arm # RM910660 will not work because it is designed for models with serial numbers between 11841 and 27824. The serial number is located up near the shank where the two arms come together. I do recommend also replacing the bushings with # RM-910003-40 because if the arm...
