Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 ACE Thor Motorcoach on the Ford F53 chassis we're going to be showing you how to install the extended U-bolt kit for Roadmaster anti-sway bar, part number RM-590050-00. To use these 15 3/4 inch long U-bolts to install your Roadmaster anti-sway bar to the extended length bolts are designed to replace your vehicle's square OEM U-bolts if they are too short.To begin our installation, what we're going to be doing is we're going to be taking this plate off, and we're going to be replacing these U-bolts. Before doing that, if you're going to do this and lift the vehicle where your wheels are off the ground, you want to make sure you put jack stands and support this axle, because what's going to happen is when you take this plate off, the axle will drop, so you need to make sure you have it sitting on something. What you're going to want to do is you want to spray down each bolt with some lubrication. This is going to help these come off a little bit easier. If you see a little ...

this little hole in the top here, it might be a good idea to spray some down there too to get down on the top of the bolt, and hopefully run down underneath inside of the nut.What I'm going to do is I'm going to start by loosening up these four nuts here. Now, these are going to be tough to get off. You can use a breaker bar, it'd be ideal. I'm going to use an inch length socket and a breaker bar. Once you get them loosened, if you have an impact drill or an impact tool you can use it.

Now what we'll do is we'll drop this plate off and we're going set it right here, and then we're going to take our U-bolt off the top here. They're going to come out overtop the springs. Now, there's a plate right up here, and you can see it spins. You want to make sure that it's not sitting that way. There's little grooves in here that the U-bolt sits on the top of your spring in.

You're going to make sure it's sitting flat, and that's where we're going to take our new U-bolts and we're going to over the top like this, and you're going to make sure they're sitting in the groove. You're going to make sure you go in between the brake line in the axle.Next, with an extra set of hands, we're going to put our plate back in place. This is where we'll be installing our Roadmaster anti-sway bar at this time. We will also install the plate for it before we install our hardware. If you are installing your anti-sway bar at a later date, then you can skip this step.Now we'll go ahead and tighten up all of our nuts.

Next, we'll torque everything down to the specifications in the instructions. Now your RV is ready to accept the Roadmaster anti-sway bar.That will do it for the extended U-bolt kit for the Roadmaster anti-sway bar, part number RM-590050-00 on our 2016 ACE Thor Motorcoach on the Ford F53 chassis.

I ordered the wrong U-bolts with my original order. Make sure you crawl under your coach and look before you order. I had a 50/50 shot and got it wrong. I definitely needed the longer U-bolts installing the rear sway bar on my 24000 GVW coach. The exchange with etrailer went through without a problem. Very good company to deal with. I purchased these U-bolts along with the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar upgrade. I planned to install myself, but as it turned out installation required a very large torque wrench, that I did not have. As a note, a call to a third-party U-bolt source tech support suggested that the original U-bolts should not be reused, even if they're long enough. Apparently suspension U-bolt threads are cut in a manner not intended to be retorqued. 224318

    The factory u-bolts will need to be long enough to account for the extra 1/2 inch of thickness and still have at least 3 threads exposed past the nut when properly installed.
