Today we'll be taking a look at the ladder roller for Rhino-Rack Aero Cross bars, part number SR680. The Rhino-Rack Ladder Roller is going to make it easier and safer to load gear up onto the roof of your vehicle. It eases the burden of awkward or heavy loads. Not only is it great for ladders, it's also great for watercraft like kayaks, surfboards, and paddle boards. Really any elongated item you want to carry on the roof of your vehicle. It's made out of an aluminum construction with a plastic sleeve so it won't harm your items.

It's 26 and 1/2 inches long and it features a limited lifetime warranty. It comes with all the hardware you need to get it installed on your Aero cross bars, or your Pioneer platform. We'll go ahead and show you that now. We've got two channel nuts here on the bottom, the larger one is going to be for that Rhino-Rack platform. The smaller one here is going to be for our Aero cross bars, so we can actually go ahead and remove the larger one. To get this installed let's go ahead and remove our end cap and we're going to also remove the rubber stripping here.

Ordinarily you could just cut it around your brackets here and have that nice finish, but for demonstration purposes we're just going to go ahead and take it off. Now we can just slide it on. You want to be sure to slide on the bracket that's on the passenger side first because the roller is going to sit in between the two brackets. You'll be sure to line up the channel nut with the channel on top of our cross bar, we'll push it all the way over to the other side, and then I'm going to install the other bracket. Now we can install our roller. You want to be sure to remove the lock nut and the flat washer off the end.

We can just slide it on, put the washer on, and then the lock nut, and then tighten it down. You'll need to provide your own tools to do so. The size is 17 millimeter. Once we get this side done we can repeat the same process for the other side. With both of them loosely installed let's go ahead and grab our roller. We'll put one side on and then the other side.

We'll get it centered up or wherever we want it positioned and then we can tighten it down with our included tool. Perfect, now we're ready to roll. Now we can easily load up our cargo. Of course you're going to want to strap your cargo down. We're using the Rhino-Rack straps, part number RTD3.
