What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're checking out this ladder slide, so it slides right into the tracks on our HD bars, and I'm going to show you how it works. We're going to load up our ladder, just get it rested against there. That's plastic, it's not hitting the cab of the truck. And then I'll just slide it up. I'm going to lift up the ladder, just to show you, a closer look at the slide itself.
It has the C channel bracket that goes underneath that you tighten down right here. So once you slide them into place, you'll come back with the Allen Key that's included. Tighten that down, that way you can't move it anywhere. And that way, you know, that's where you're gonna loop your lead every time. It does slide, slide really well on this.
I'm going to show you that now, to show you the back and forth of, I mean, that's me barely pushing. So that's nice that when you lean the ladder up and it hits that, and you go to slide, it's actually going to slide. Now, when you load your ladder up, you're still going to need to tie it down. So you can just use some cam buckle straps on the bars. Actually, Rhino-Rack has some pretty good accessories to help you tie down things.
See the ladder pegs, we have two of them up front on the front of the ladder. That's going to help us guide that ladder, make sure it stays in place. But also has eyelets up top, to run straps through to help tighten it down to those bars so it doesn't go anywhere. Also have a ratchet strap attachment on this side. So we're going run that over and tighten it down to this eyelet.
They also make some regular eyelets that just slide in the channel and go wherever you need them to be. So if you're not just using the cam buckle straps I do like that Rhino-Rack has at least put a lot of thought into the accessories that go over the track to give you plenty of options to tie down whatever you want to throw up here. With the ladder up on the roof, this would be a good time to secure it. I got the Rhino-Rack ratchet strap accessory, runs in the channel too. So that's a great addition to attach it to the other side and then just tighten it down. Overall, it really was handy. I like to have something to set the ladder onto just to make it easier and getting up on the roof. I don't have to worry about it hitting the cab as much just as long as it hits this angle. It's going to hit this plastic, which I was a little worried about at first, being like, "Is that going to hold up" But, the nice thing is, the ladder slid there really easily. So once I hit this bumper, I just had to push it up a little bit, slid right across there and up front, far easier than trying to do it without it, for sure. Well, I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helps..
