Heavy made. Didn't have room for the chain lifts because of the placement of the gas bottles and this worked out perfect, no welding to do. Used on a 17 foot Casita fiberglass camper trailer. 329197

Recently purchased a Keystone Cougar 30FKV travel trailer and discovered that the Reese Pro hitch chain hangers would not work under the v-nose. Not enough clearance to 'snap-up'' the chains. I'net research turned up E-Trailer as the only supplier of these hangers. Tho pricey, they were ordered easily and delivered on time. Chunky, well made, with hardware, easily installed, it looks like the solution for the problem As in other reviews; NOTE that you must jack up the tow and trailer to properly load your equalizers using these fixed chain hangers. BE SURE YOUR TONGUE JACK IS CAPABLE OF DOING THIS !! 269340

This product was the primary item in my purchase, and they bolted up to my trailer in about 10 minutes. Heavy duty shackles seem like they will work just fine. 49265

Ask the Experts about this Reese Accessories and Parts
Do you have a question about this Accessories and Part?

  • Steadi-Flex vs Strait-Line Weight Distribution for a Dump Trailer with Varying Weight
  • Yes, you will need to adjust your weight distribution (WD) system depending on how much total tongue weight you have. If you have a system that is rated too high then your towing setup will be too stiff. Out of the Steadi-Flex # RP66560 and the Strait-Line # RP66074 you are correct that the Strait-Line will be the easier of the 2 to adjust. They both have similar head adjustment options but when it comes to the arms it is much easier to adjust chain length and the bolts on the dual...

  • Replacement Brackets for EZ Lift Weight Distribution System Chains
  • The Replacement Frame Brackets for Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # C17508 will work with only the Curt TruTrack systems. If you have the EAZ Lift brackets for a chain system, then you will need to use the Chain Hangers for Reese Weight Distribution Systems - Clamp On # RP58306 or bolt on hangers like # C17005. If you have the trunnion or round bars with integrated sway control then we don't have anything that is compatible with your brand of system.

  • Can Weight Distribution Chains Hang at an Angle or Do They Have to be Straight Up and Down
  • Ideally, you would want the chains to be straight up and down. A slight angle is permissible. What I recommend is to change the chain hanger type being used. There are 2 options. First we have a type that bolts to the side of the trailer frame, # RP58305. The other type is a skinny bracket that fits around the frame (up to 6-1/2 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches wide), # RP58306. With either set up you would need to use the trailer jack to jack up the trail and vehicle to achieve the required...

  • Solution for a Reese Weight Distribution System Brackets Where Above Frame Clearance is Limited
  • It sounds like you are looking for a way to attach Reese weight distribution frame brackets to the side of a trailer frame where there isn't clearance above the frame to allow the # RP58306 to attach. For that situation we have the part # RP58305 which gives you a set of brackets that you can attach to the side of the trailer frame by bolting directly to the side of the frame. I attached a picture that shows how this would attach on a trailer that has a toolbox above the frame.

  • Selecting Weight Distribution System for 2009 Featherlite 24-Foot Enclosed Car Hauler Trailer
  • First, thank you for your brake controller and harness purchase from etrailer last year. We appreciate you coming back to us. Thank you also for providing useful details about your towing set up. Some aluminum trailers cannot be used with WD so I recommend confirming compatibility with the trailer manufacturer. The key to selecting a weight distribution system is knowing your trailer's loaded tongue weight. In your case of a car hauler this can be a little trickier since exactly where...

  • Weight Distribution Alternatives for 8500 lb Travel Trailer w/ 940lb Unloaded Tongue Weight
  • Although the # RP58306 clamps I recommended would allow you to retain your existing Dual-Cam system, a Reese SC system could be a good choice as well. The sway control portion of the SC works almost but not quite as well as the Dual-Cam you're currently using, but it still works very well. The # RP66560 is rated for tongue weights ranging from 500-1200 lbs and might be a good choice for you, depending on the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of your TT. Keep in mind that any...

  • Availability of Bolt On Chain Hangers for an EAZ-lift Weight Distribution System
  • From what I could find online it looks like the clamps you are talking about for your EAZ-lift Weight Distribution (WD) system are similar to the Reese Lift Brackets # RP6637. For this application we do have the bolt on Chain Hangers # RP58305 for when there are clearance issues on the top of the trailer frame. For your C-channel frame I recommend using the clamp on chain hangers like part # RP58306 and putting a piece of wood in the C-channel to give the bracket some extra support. Please...

  • How to Install Weight Distribution Brackets on Trailer Frame That Has Cross Tube Near A-Frame
  • Sometimes trailer frame designs like yours or the presence of propane tanks or other tongue-mounted accessory items on a trailer can interfere with installation of the chain lift brackets for a WD system like the ProSeries # PS49903. Reese, the sister company to ProSeries, offers a simple solution for this issue, their bolt-on chain lift brackets # RP58305. These bolt to the outside edges of the two frame rails and so they will not interfere with your trailer's square cross tube. Another...

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 24-Foot V-Nose Trailer with Limited Clearance
  • You want to choose a weight distribution (WD) system so that your trailer's fully-loaded tongue weight (TW) plus the weight of anything in the truck that sits behind the rear axle, like a generator or loaded cooler, falls into the middle of its operating range. Say your loaded TW is 1000-lbs and you have a 100-lb generator in the back of the truck; in this case you'll want a system like the Reese Strait-Line # RP66130 that is rated for TW from 800- to 1500-lbs. You can refer to the linked...

  • Lift Brackets for a Weight Distribution System for a Trailer with 3 Inch Wide Frame
  • What you could use are chain hangers # RP58306. You would just need longer bolts because the ones that are included are not long enough for a 3 inch frame. Use grade 5 or better hardware. These are just hangers, not lift brackets, so you would need to use the trailer jack to get the required tension on the spring bars. If you are just looking for a more stable tow then you could just add a friction bar sway control unit like # 83660. It comes with everything you will need though you...

  • Will Reese Clamp-on Chain Hangers # RP58306 Fit a 2 Inch x 5 Inch Trailer Frame
  • On a trailer frame that is 2 inches thick and 5 inches tall, the Reese clamp-on chain hangers, # RP58306, will fit. The brackets fit a frame up to 6-1/2 inches tall and 2-3/4 inches wide. With an aluminum trailer frame, you will need to consult the trailer manufacturer to determine if weight distribution can be used.

  • Reese Chain Hanger for Weight Distribution Systems Installation Options
  • I spoke with my contact at Reese and he informed me that the way you set up your weight distribution system with the Chain Hangers # RP58306 is perfectly fine. He said that every trailer will have slight differences between them and since you are at 32 inches and the recommendation is approximately 31 inches you are fine. He also said that having to use 6 links on the chain is fine as well. He said you will just not want to go with less than 5 inches as a rule of thumb. I attached...

  • Different Chain hanging Brackets for Weight Distribution on a V-Nose Trailer
  • What I recommend is to use some chain hangers that bolt to the side of the trailer frame, # RP58305. This method should provide you with brackets that are easier to install when compared to the regular brackets that might require trailer modification to properly install. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. Other option, if there is any free space where the brackets need to go, is chain hangers with skinny brackets, # RP58306. The thin brackets are more versatile...

  • Chain Hangers for use With Reese Weight Distribution
  • There are a pair of options when choosing chain hangers for your Reese Titan Weight Distribution System # RP66006. The bolt-on chain hangers are # RP58305, but if you prefer not to drill you can use the clamp-on chain hangers, # RP58306. For snap-up brackets you would want to use the Replacement Lift Brackets with Handle for Reese Weight Distribution Systems # RP6637, or the Replacement Heavy Duty Snap-Up Bracket for Reese Weight Distribution Systems # 58392.

  • Weight Distribution System Chain Hanger Recommendations for Reese Weight Distribution System
  • Yes, you'll want to use Reese brand frame brackets when you go to install your weight distribution system. Most likely you need chain hangers like the # RP58306 or if you have clearance issues above the frame on your trailer you can use the bolt on style brackets like part # RP58305.

For example, Curt hitch # C13105 has this capability. Next you will want to measure your camper's fully-loaded tongue weight when it is stocked with all gear and supplies and ready to tow. To this you will add the weight of anything in the tow vehicle placed behind the rear axle, such as a loaded cooler....
