Great product. Quality construction and Versatile in applications. This Reese Head replaced my older Hidden Hitch Head. I am able to use my old weight distribution bars, anti-sway cams and anti-sway friction bars. It saved me a small fortune in that the only thing that I had to replace was the Head itself. One year in I have zero complaints and product has performed flawlessly. 707947

I needed to duplicate a trailer hitch, and I was able to find all the parts I needed. I like this product because it is heavy duty and will except my load bars. 696014

  • Diagram for Head and Shank of Pro Series RB2 Weight Distribution System
I attached a diagram for the RB2 weight distribution system # 49570 head and shank that you asked about. The replacement bars are part # 58338 and the replacement head is part # 58333.

  • Reese Weight Distribution Head to use With Trunnion 21210 Bars
I reached out to Reese for you, and while we do have a solution, they told me you would not be able to use the Reese Pro Series RB2 Weight Distribution Head # 58333. What they said you could use is the Replacement Head for Reese Weight Distribution System - Trunnion Bar # RP58167. They told me that this will fit all Reese trunnion bars, including the older ones, though it is possible that the older-style bars like you have may be a "little loose" in fit, though they will still work....

  • How do I Set up my Old Pro Series Weight Distribution System on my New Vehicle
Your cheapest alternative would certainly be to use the Pro Series Weight Distribution Shank - 11" - 12,000 lbs part # 63911 and Reese Pro Series RB2 Weight Distribution Head part # 58333 to have a second vehicle kit sort of. THiss will allow you to use your current trunion bars and set up the hitch height for the new towing vehicle. I see you use friction sway control so getting the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit - Economy part # 83660 will give you what you need for that as well....

  • Spring Recommendation for Pro Series Weight Distribution Head
You have the Pro Series weight distribution head part # 58333 which means the correct replacement spring bars you need are the part number # 58338 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 which which would work great with a trailer that weighs 7,000 lbs.

  • Compatibility of Weight Distribution Head and Shank Parts from Different Brands
Most weight distribution heads and shanks are interchangeable between brands since they use a standardized hole size of 3/4-inch and a center-to-center hole spacing of 1-1/4-inches. The Pro Series head assembly # 58333 and the Curt shank # C17125 are compatible. The shank has a weight rating of 15K and the specific spring bars in your Pro Series system will also have a weight rating that must be appropriate for the trailer tongue weight.

  • Can Dual-Cam or SC Friction Sway Control be Added to a Pro Series Weight Distribution System
The Pro Series head, # 58333, will accept round bar # 58336, but the bar doesn't actually have a bend in it to use dual-cam sway control and it doesn't have the right design to use the SC style friction pads. Your best option is to use the bar style friction sway control with the new bars. Or you could replace the weight distribution system you have with a new one with the type of sway control you want such as the Strait-Line system # RP66072.

  • Replacement Spring Bars for a Pro Series RB2 Weight Distribution System
For the Pro Series RB2 system and its head, # 58333, there are different spring bars you could use. You need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow plus the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the vehicle. For a 3500 pound trailer and a tongue weight of 10 to 15 percent you are looking at 350 to 525 pounds. With nothing in the tow vehicle behind the rear axle you can use 600 pound spring bars,...

  • Replacement Head Recommendation for a Reese 61009 Weight Distribution System

  • Strait Line Weight Distribution Recommendation for a Trailer with 1,200 lbs Tongue Weight
Most likely you do not have the # 58333 WD head since you said you have round bars and this head is designed for trunnion bars. Without knowing exactly what head you have it would be hard for me to know for certain what bars you would need and if they would be compatible with dual cam sway control. What I think is actually going on is that you are using a WD system that isn't rated high enough for how much your trailer weighs. The highest rated Reese round bars are for 1,200 lbs tongue...

  • Recommended Replacement Trunnion and Pin for Reese Weight Distribution Systems
The Replacement Trunnion and Pin for Reese 600 and 800 lb Trunnion Style Weight Distribution # 58098 is very similar to the Replacement Trunnion for Pro Series weight distribution 700 lb TW # 113397. You are correct that they both accept 1-1/8 inch trunnion bars, but they have a difference of 8 degrees in angle so they are not compatible with the same head according to my tech contact at Reese. The Pro Series 113397 is no longer available only compatible with the Head 49578 which has...

  • Replacement 600 Pound Spring Bar for a Pro Series Weight Distribution System
If your trailer is only 3,000 pounds then the 1,200 pound spring bars are going to be much to heavy for the trailer. The system will not be effective, it will create a very stiff ride, and it could damage the trailer. You will need bars for a tongue weight of 200 to 600 pounds to get the benefits of a system. There are several different Pro Series systems though. If the head looks like # 58333 then you can use bar # 58344. The bars are sold individually. This head style will accept round...

  • Can Dual-Cam Sway Control be Added to an Older Reese Weight Distribution System
You have a very old system there! You would not be able to add dual-cam sway control # RP26002 to this system. Dual-cam systems require the bars with the cam hook ends and will not work with tapered straight bars. The system would not be a # PS49582 because that is a newer system with round bars, not trunnion bars. If the head that holds the ball looks like # 58333 with those 2 smaller holes on the far left and right on top of the head then you can use 2 friction bar style units, #...

What you are looking for is the snap up handle # RP58162 which we have confirmed with Reese/Pro Series as being the correct handle you'd need. The head and picture you sent in a picture of is the Pro Series RB2 part # 58333.

  • Will Reese Spring Bars Work in Pro Series Weight Distribution Heads
The correct 600 lb replacement spring bar for the Pro Series Weight Distribution Head, # 58333, is the Pro Series RB2 Round Bar, # 58336. This head and spring bar are compatible with the Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit, # 49568. I attached installation instructions for this system for you to review. The 600 lb Replacement Round Spring Bar for Reese Weight Distribution Systems, is not compatible with the Pro Series RB2 weight distribution head.

  • Does 27 Foot Trailer Need A Friction Sway Control Unit
I'm assuming you're describing the weight distribution head, which would look like # 58333. This weight distribution head has a hole on each side of where the trailer ball would attach for mounting a # 83660 friction sway unit. If your trailer is having sway problems caused by crosswinds or turbulence caused by oncoming or passing traffic, a friction sway unit can help. For trailers longer than 26 feet, we recommend two units, one on each side. If your weight distribution head only...

  • How to Choose the Correct Weight Distribution Kit for a Starcraft TravelStar Hybrid Trailer
The trailer GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) and GTW (gross tongue weight) are the best indicators for selecting the proper weight distribution system for your setup. With GVWR of 4,400 lbs and GTW of 455 lbs, I would recommend the Pro Series RB2 Round Bar Weight Distribution Kit with Shank, # 49568. This setup allows for GTW up to 600 lbs and GVWR of up to 10,000 lbs so you will be adequately covered for weight capacity and safety. The 1200 lb GTW and 12,000 lb GVWR rating of...

  • Long Ball Mount Compatible with Towing with Tailgate Down
The Hidden Hitch Ball Mount 15-3/4" Long # 80232 is rated for 6,000 lbs. This is the longest shank we have available and at the highest capacity. To have a weight distribution shank for your application is a great option. I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank - 18" Long # EQ90-02-4500 along with hitch head # 58333 which will be rated for handling the same tongue weight whether the bars were installed or not. You will also need a compatible hitch ball like # A-90 for a 2 inch...

  • Can Second Friction Sway Control be Used on Trailer Setup and Will It Help
Adding a second friction sway control device # 83660 can help. Typically what we recommend is if the trailer is longer than 26 feet then a second unit should be used. You may need to use the weld-on friction sway control tab # C45822 or # 3442 if your weight distribution head doesn't already have the bracket and hole for a second one. It will get welded to the side of the head or ball mount. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional welder. Once welded on it will look like...
