Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Brakes BRKH10B Review

Today we're going to take a look at the mounting hardware for 10" brake assemblies. This hardware will allow you to install two trailer brake assemblies to the 4-bolt brake mounting flange on the trailer axle. This hardware is designed to fit the 10" brake assemblies that already have the mounting bolts installed on the assemblies. These will work with electric or hydraulic brakes. It includes everything shown here on the table. It includes eight of the 7/16 by 20 nuts, and they do have a head size of 11/16. Here's a socket that has 11/16.

You can see it fits perfectly. It comes also with the eight lock washers. So, this would be all used to install the assemblies to your axle. That should do it for the review on the mounting hardware for 10" brake assemblies.

Well, you may not see the actual brake controller in these shots, but I wanted to display just how much etrailer product was used to restore this old trailer. Re-decked the trailer, new wheel bearings, added brakes on all 4 with this brake controller and battery powered emergency disconnect... new rust protection, primer and paint, new lights and wiring all the way around, new wiring harness/box, and new tire carrier. Nearly all product except the decking and paint was from etrailer. the customer support was fantastic, I highly recommend this company! 546745

Well hello, I dont do many reviews but I will have to say that the people at etrailer are very nice and very easy to deal with and they know there business for sure , I havent installed my parts yet and they arrived dead on time and I knew every step the parts made along the way to me . So far I am very pleased and that is hard to do with me as 99 percent of the time nothing is ever the way suppliers say it going to be until now with etrailer , very nice job guys and thank you and I will be installing everything this weekend and will do another review and will have some pics along the way, And by the way thank ou for keeping the prices affordable for us out here in the field trying to keep our equipment rolling and safe , with your prices no reason to be able to do just that , again great job guys . 485076

I normally don't write reviews, but in this case I feel that I should. I worked with Donna who was most helpful. She was careful to ensure that I ordered the right parts. She was patient with me as I had a bunch of questions and did not order right away. I received the parts rather quickly and they were completely easy to install. SHIPPING WAS FREE FOR MY ORDER. I would most defiantly do business with etrailer again. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. Send etrailer your business. 471982

What can I say - these are lock washers and nuts. If you are replacing brakes make certain to buy new mounting fasteners. Often the old pieces are rusted or need to be cut off. Be prepared and include these with your brake purchase. 459364

  • Comparing Different Hydraulic Trailer Brakes for Boat Trailer
  • Essentially yes, all of them will work for your trailer assuming you have 3,500 pound axles and a 4 bolt mounting flange. However, there are some differences between the brake assemblies you mentioned. The # AKFBBRK-35 are free-backing brakes, meaning they will not engage when reversing with your trailer. If your trailer has a reverse lockout on it then this feature is not necessary. They're coated with an e-coat used for corrosion resistance. The Demco brakes # 40716-15 are galvanized...

  • Choosing the Correct 10 x 2-1/4 Inch Electric Brakes
  • The brakes need to fit the axle. Or more specifically the hubs and the brake mounting flanges on the axle. One thing that may be confusing you is that brake assemblies for 4,400 pound axles and those for 3,500 pound axles are both 10 x 2-1/4 inches. The difference will be the brake mounting flange bolt hole pattern. If your axle is a indeed a 3,500 pound axle # AKEBRK-35-SA will work for you. The mounting bolts are included but you need part # BRKH10B for the nuts and lock washers. If...

  • Do Self-Adjusting Trailer Brakes Adjust Going Forward or in Reverse
  • Actually, it is recommended to make the very first brake adjustment manually on self-adjusting trailer brakes such as # AKEBRK-35-SA. This is so the brakes are ready to go without having to wait for them to adjust out while you drive (forward or reverse). Basically there is a device on the adjustment wheel on these brakes that prevents the shoes from adjusting back inward. You have to sort of move that out of the way to be able to turn the adjustment star wheel easier. The video I have...

  • The threaded portion of the spindle part # LC134563 that you referenced is 1 inch in diameter so the correct spindle nut is the pat # 165686. The hubs part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K fits this spindle setup as well with the nuts # BRKH10B. The assemblies part # AKEBRK-35L-SA are also correct for this.

I've attached a photo to assist. The bolts will be 7/16"-20 and the Mounting Hardware for 10" Brake Assemblies # BRKH10B will give you the necessary lock washers and nuts compatible. • What is the Difference Between 3.5K and 4.4K Electric Trailer Brakes
  • Most of the time brakes of the same size but with different capacities have different magnets. A larger magnet is needed for a higher capacity. If you were to go to larger capacity brakes they may seem too aggressive for the load. In that case you can reduce the power output from the brake controller. A 4,400 pound axle is not all that common so I am willing to bet that you have 3,500 pound axles. The ideal set of self-adjusting 10x2-1/4 inch brakes for you is # AKEBRK-35-SA. I have...

  • Free-Backing Trailer Brakes and Actuator Recommendation
