Video Transcript for Review of Redline - Trailer Leaf Spring Suspension - 38N

Today we're going to take a look at the replacement 3/8" diameter nut for the trailer suspension u-bolts or 12" brake assemblies. Now this 3/8" diameter nut is designed for use with u-bolts, it'll help secure your trailer's axle to it's leaf springs. Or also to fit 3/8" mounting bolts on your 12" brake assemblies. Now when you do use this on a brake assembly, it will also require a lock washer, which we do sell separately on our website. It's part number 38LW, it's also listed on this product page as a related product. Again the size on this nut is 3/8" by 24 threads per inch.

The overall diameter, or the wrench socket size, is 9/16 diameter. Happen to pull a 9/16 socket, and you can see it's made exactly for that. Now this part is for a quantity of one replacement nut. This nut is also available in a zinc finish if you need, it's part number 38NZ, and again it's sold separately on our website. But that should do it for the review on the replacement 3/8" nut for trailer suspension u-bolts, or 12" brake assemblies..

Replacing the brakes on a 50 year old FAN camper. After being assured that it had 10 inch brakes by another company"s "expert" because it has a 3500# axle, I finally received the correct 12 inch brakes from eTrailer. They arrived very quickly, and packaged well. The installation went almost as easy as the very helpful online video showed. Only difference was I had to slightly tighten the brakes to slide the hub over them, even though they are self-adjusting once in service. I have never owned or worked on a trailer before, and the installation was relatively easy. Thank you to George J for the followup email within 24 hours of delivery. 343054

Ordered lots of parts on Monday, received most of them by Thursday. The received parts were well packaged and undamaged. A few of the parts they didn't have in stock so they had those drop-shipped to me which should be delivered in the next couple of days. No supplier I have ordered any parts from has such a great technical reference web site or personal customer support. Yea, Rebecca - Well Done! Yes, I'm very happy with the pricing. Thanks for your great support and I look forward to doing business with them again. More info to follow as soon as I can get the parts installed on my trailer. 326666

Nuts and bolts are nuts and bolts but I can report that the self-adjusting brakes have worked well on our two-thousand mile trip this summer through the mountains of Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. They stop straight and true and don't seem to fade on those long down grades like the infamous "Cabbage Hill" near Pendelton Or. 306925

My package arrived on time just as I expected. I was a bit disappointed with the packing. Everything came in one box. The nuts were not in any bag they were just loose in the box. I ordered 10 but I only received 7. I think the other 3 fell out the bottom of the box that was not completely sealed with tape. You might want to put small parts in a zip lock bag. I ended up replacing new bolts one one side instead of both. 204031

The whole order was perfect. I'm rebuilding the running gear on a1976 3 horse slant then remodeling the whole trailer by converting the trailer into a communications trailer for HF radio for disaster response. Front area will be living quarters. I am in our State Guard as a radio operator and also in county emergency management. This trailer will be my shelter and operating station when deployed to hurricanes and such. Since I'm spending my own funds on this, the good prices on etrailer are greatly appreciated. 109559

  • USA-Made Dexter 12 x 2-Inch Electric Drum Brakes for 2003 Mobile Suites Trailer with Tandem 7K Axles
For Made in America 12 x 2-inch electric drum brakes for your 2003 Mobile Suites trailer with tandem 7K axles I recommend the Dexter kit # 23-464-465 for each axle if you want self-adjusting brakes. If you prefer standard manual-adjust brakes instead then use two of kit # 23-180-181. Either way you will want to order two kits to be able to fit new brakes on both axles. For mounting hardware you can use parts # 38LW, # 7-5 and # 38N (five of each per brake) and for a brake adjustment...

The electric brakes I recommend to use with the Trailer Hub/Drum, part # 8-219-50 and the Timbren Heavy-Duty Axle-Less Trailer Suspension, part # ASR35HDS02 is the Dexter 12 inch Nev-R-Adjust Electric Brake Assembly, part # 23-459 for the right hand side. For the left hand I recommend part # 23-458. The mounting hardware for the brake systems is not included. You will need part # 38LW, part # 38N, and part # 7-5. For each brake you will need 5 of each.

The brake assemblies I recommend to match the hubs are the Electric Trailer Brake with Dust Shield - Self-Adjusting - 12-1/4" - Left Hand - 8,000 lbs # AKEBRK-8L and # AKEBRK-8R for the right hand side. • Brake Flange Mounting Bolt Recommendation for Kodiak Disk Brake Kit K2R526D
The brake flange mounting bolts are not included with the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2R526D that you referenced. If you need bolts you would want the part # 7-5 for the bolt, part # 38LW for the washer and part # 38N for the nut. These aren't stainless, but they will still work fine. If you wanted to go with stainless you would have to source them at a hardware store.

  • Replacement Self Adjusting Brake Assemblies for Lippert 7k Axles
Self adjusting brake assemblies have no downside. They are the preferred brake assembly style as they require no adjustments. The part # AKEBRK-7L-SA is the correct left hand side assembly for your trailer with 7k Lippert axles. For the right hand side you'd then want the part # AKEBRK-7R-SA. For grease seals you then would want the part # RG06-070. For bolts you'd need the part # 38N and for a washer part # 38LW.

For a 3500 lb axle, you will want the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA. • Replacement Hydraulic Brake Assemblies and Drums with 008-201-09 Casting Number for Boat Trailer
The 008-201-09 number you provided comes back on a Dexter Axle hub that we offer as part # 8-201-9UC3-EZ, a 12 x 2 inch brake drum. This hub uses a 25580 inner and 15123 outer bearing, so please check the reference numbers on your existing bearings to confirm that this hub is compatible. These hubs use a grease seal with a 2-1/8 inch inner diameter. It is possible to measure the spindles to obtain grease seal dimensions (location B on the photo) but this process requires care and a precision digital caliper like # PTW80157. You will also need to confirm the diameter of your wheel studs. We already know your brakes...
