Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: Rear View Safety Backup Camera

Today we're going to take a look at the rear view safety backup camera. This is everything that's going to come in our kit. We'll have our length of wire, which is going to be 10 meters. And then our connection for the audio connection for our monitor. You will have to pick up the monitor separately with this system. We'll also have our power connection and then some hardware to get the camera connected and the camera itself. Now the way that's going to work is we'll have a little sticky plate to go on the back of our camera to put that in place.

There's a connection point here that you can pull apart to slide that little plastic piece over, that double sided tape, over. And then we'll also have a washer lock washer and a nut that can slide over the wire with that slot cut out. So it slides up the wire and then threads into place. Now our wiring is going to also have a little rubber boot to go over that connection and provide a little extra water protection to it to make sure that it stays nice and protected. Our camera itself is going to measure about 1 inch, about 1 and a 1/4 inch wide. And 1 and a 1/2 inches tall.

And it's going to stick out about an inch. So that'll give you an idea of the dimensions there. The threaded nut on the back or post on the back is going to be about 3/4 of an inch long.As far as some other specs on our camera itself, it is going to have a viewing angle of 170 degrees. The lens is going to be 2.1 millimeters and it does have a vibration rating of 10G. That's going to do it for our look at the rear view safety camera backup camera..

  • Rear View Safety Back-Up Camera Meant To Be Installed On the Back of a Motorhome
The Rear View Safety Backup Camera # RVS-MV1 was designed more for vehicles like cars, not motorhomes. As such it is designed to be installed on and under-hang which orientates the camera differently than it would be on the back of a motorhome. There is not an "easy" fix/way to get the picture to flip. You best option would be to use a camera designed to be oriented in the way you are needing, like the Rear View Safety Backup Camera # RVS-771. This camera can be mounted how you are needing...

  • Why is the Image from the # RVS-MV1 Showing Up Inverted on My Monitor?
I went ahead and reached out to my tech at RVS, and he confirmed that the most common installation issue with the Rear View Safety Backup Camera # RVS-MV1 is that it is installed "right-side up" instead of "upside down." The # RVS-MV1 is meant to be installed with the camera hanging below the surface as opposed to mounting on top of the surface. I went ahead and attached a photo of how the camera should install on your vehicle. Please let me know if you are still having problems with...
