Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at these Yakima round crossbar replacement endcaps. These are going to replace lost or damaged endcaps for your Yakima round crossbars. These will fit all sizes of Yakima round crossbars, so no matter the size that you have, these are going to be the direct replacement from Yakima. And you are gonna get four of these, so even if you just need to replace one, you'll have some extras on hand in case you ever need to replace any in the future.
Very easy to get these mounted in place of the originals. And because they are a direct replacement from Yakima, you can trust they are gonna fit right in place. You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that. So, this is gonna do a great job of sealing up the ends of your crossbars. Might cut down on some of that whistling that you're experiencing if you don't have an endcap there.
It's also gonna help protect the crossbars from getting water, and dirt, and debris, and that sort of thing inside there. Well, purchased an extra set of these. Didn't realize they came with the bars, but who knows, weather and terrain together I guess I'm likely to break one or lose one so it won't hurt to have a spare on hand; filing these away in the bins in the garage for now.
Original Yakima round bar end plugs, perfect fit at the best price I could find.
These and some other parts I had to order later made for a complete rebuild of my Yakima roof rack to fit my Subaru Forester. The original Forester roof rach was too small for my canoe, but the Yakima works perfectly.
They fit the older round bars perfectly. I easily replaced the broken ones and the new ones look great.
Good product but almost $5 each for a pipe cap that cost $.50 to make. Etrailer was good to deal with. Quick to process and ship but tracking on shipments is lacking

I have had these Yakima racks since 2004. It was awesome to be able to find the foot pads and bar plugs

Awesome every thing I purchase is holding up great and still making my old racks like new!
Normally Yakima products are well built and bulletproof. These end plugs are the exception. The original ones deteriorated too quickly. These new ones cracked and split almost immediately upon installation. TIP: To install, don't smack them hard with the palm of your hand or a mallet. Also, be careful when storing bars not store them vertically, resting on their end. The somewhat sharp end of the bar will start slicing through the end plug, shortening it's life, likely even damaging it.
You have to remove end plugs to install or remove towers, and you likely have to destroy the end plugs to remove them. Too bad they are not made of a more durable material; something durable like the material used for Yakima "SNARs" (snap-arounds). I now use rubber tips designed for chair legs for end caps; not pretty, but easy to install and remove without damage.
Exactly what I needed
Ordered the 78" Yakima crossbars with end caps as I frequently going canoeing in groups in the Northeast. The long bars allow for a canoe and cargo (Rocketbox) or two canoes. I could not believe how fast the bars showed up on my doorstep! etrailer had what I wanted at the best price and the customer service was simply a bonus. Def will be back!
Exactly as described. Wish it was a little cheaper for what your getting but I don't think that is e trailer's fault as much as Yakima's.

My canoe is on the rack at this moment and continues to be a very strong platform to haul lumber, fencing and my canoe. Plan to expand its capability with for camping gear this year
Perfectly functional, cost effective
Purchased the bars, clips & end caps for installation on my 2013 Ford Escape - shipping was very prompt and all items items were easily installed thanks to the helpful videos. Will definitely return to etrailer for any additional parts I need in the future
Basic product does its job. Fit is snug and will stay in place. I tapped them into crossbars lightly, with small hammer. (Previous version was too loose and fell out, thus the need to replace.)
etrailer is the only place I can find hard to locate Yakima rack parts! Item arrived on time and as described (new).
Bought these end caps for the 58" Round bars I purchased from etrailer. They simply pop in and give the round bars a nice finished look.

Kind of spendy for little plastic caps, but necessary if you want to keep the wind out of the tubes and the rack noise at a tolerable level. I got free shipping on 78 inch tubes, so I bought the caps as well.
Perfect fit, quick delivery, and easy install. They prevent the open cross bars from whistling in the wind.

The caps remain on with a tight fit After 1 year of extreme heat, cold weather and sunshine. Perfect product.
